Mom had a Buick Skyhawk about the same year - dark red with white interior and a moonroof. And then my neighbor in college had a V8 Monza that he was always tearing around the neighborhood in.
I had a 77 Mirage that I purchased used in 1980. Unfortunately it was a rebuilt wreck (not known to me when I bought it from a disreputable dealership) and was nothing but a headache. But it did get a lot of attention. and the kid that bought it from me loved it.
I don't have a mirage, but I do have a 75 2+2, and a 79 2+2. If you love Monza's like I do, you know we are all crazy as F. I fell in love when I saw the first picture of one just before debut in late 1974. I went to a local dealer and saw a metallic blue 2+2, and I was hooked for life. My 79 will be back on the road this year, and my 75 hopefully not very long after that. Parts are hard to find, if you know of a good source, don't be shy holler out.
I had one that I owned from 1981 to the end of 1983. My GF crashed it a couple of times, had the doors fixed, but kept the damage to the fenders since that soft plastic panels covered that damage. Did not have the budget to fix those. Bought mine in Denver Thornton or Northglenn and traded it in by Marty Franich in Watsonville. Wish I knew who had it now.
Decisions, decisions...... Spyder, Mirage, or IMSA. Started life driving a notchback. Finished driving with a Buick GN. dam what i wouldnt give to cross the 2! (GN v6 in the Monza!). I miss my MONZA!😩
My twin brother had one, it was fairly quick but was a POS. The front suspension was setup for a small 4 cylinder and it would bottom out all of the time and the oil pan was leaking bad from the hits it was taking.
Just wondered why you didn't have them lift up the hood so we can see the engine and maybe open the door! A lot of people have not seen one of these and it would have been a lot more interesting video and probably shared if there was more to look at
I bought a new one from a dealer in New Athens IL. It was a 305 V8 with an automatic transmission which some people say they ony came with 4 speed sticks. Anyone else own an automatic? Loved that car, only traded it in because I was paralyzed in a later accident driving my 72 MG Miget which I also loved......
I purchased a used Mirage in 1979 in Rochester,NY. It also had an automatic transmission. It did not have the stripes on the roof, trunk or hood. It did have all the other decals.
My 79 came with a 305 and thm350. I bought it used, it was pretty beat up, got most of it fixed, that weak 305 really flew on the highway. I love my 75 2+2 also.
It’s ugly. The decals are terrible, who cares if they have been replaced? The regular version is better looking. Hell, I’d rather have a Buick Skyhawk. A pile of monzas at home? Good lord. Haha. At LEAST call the car a curiosity and don’t take it and yourself so seriously. Yikes.
I LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH MY MONZA FAMILY!!!
I had a 1980 Monday Spyder in 1982, silver with white interior. I was on top of the world, 17 years old living the dream👍🏻😁
Do you still have that car?

Always liked the look of those cars!
I can't believe I am seeing all these cars.
It must be a mirage !

That was first car. I drove it to high school. Very cool wish I still had it
one look at these puppies and i'm fondly reminded of the world-famous joie chitwood stunt driving team!!
I owned one of these had a lot of fun with it!
I had a stepsister who dated a guy that had one of these, 4spd. He let me drive it. I love these cars.
I passed on a 75 with a 350 2bbl and a 4speed in 85.
Wish I bought that car.
I hadn't seen one since I was a kid. I especially remember the r&b influenced song for the commercial. Wow
Very cool Monza's. I had Monza a Spyder. 1979 model in 85.
First car was a 1975 Monza 2+2 with a factory 350 only about 350 made.sure do miss it.
"What makes your Monza Mirage special to you?"
[Totally goes off on a tangent and never actually answers]

Love those quirky low volume cars
Best of the best just hard to keep clutch from burning up
What makes your Monza special??? my name is on the title
Cool cars.
I remember seeing the Mirage quite a bit when it was new, probably because it's conversion was done in Michigan.
Nice cars
My buddy's brother has had his mirage for about 25 years now garage kept

Thank you for the feedback! If we see them again this year, we will definitely have them go through a more thorough review!

Almost all the California car were automatic. You could get them any way you wanted.

Got mine in 1980 second owner 52000 motor went
The one with the manual, what engine? I thought the 350 was automatic only.
Wow !
i have the documentation for the original buick version. I would be happy to share some of my original documentation
On the last one the cal hood is a disgrace, it ruins the look. I like the wheels but you should paint them white
Pop the Hoods Dinkies
