I laughed out loud at your discussion of why you weren’t doing a lot of neutral comparisons 🤣 “they’re neutrals, whatever ones you’re thinking of, they’re probably the same”-this is EXACTLY the kind of reality check we all need when we’re trying not to buy too much! It always seems like brands do the “scattered” color layout to kind of mask having near repeat shades in a palette. I like your version way better, it hits a lot more of the “fresh” vibes
A helpful trick for these mega palettes where the shades are scattered is to group four shades in a 2x2 square and approach the palette that way. It gives you both neutral and colorful mini color stories without having to think much

The only thing that bugs me is the arrangement. Otherwise, it's cute, summery, and kind of fruity. I have dupes for all the colors I am already interested in, but it looks like a great way to get a bunch of colour stories in one
I was so confused over the color story on this one. I agree, the layout is not cohesive to me and they used too many neutrals. Feels like they could have made this a lovely 12-15 pan palette or more colorful. I was not interested before and I’m still not now. But I would likely buy Amanda’s version! 🥰

Yesss…they could have done an awesome 9, or even 15, pan “spring palette” which would have been more refreshing. It was just soooo neutral heavy.
I’m glad I’m not the only person that thought so. It feels like it was just thrown together randomly.
I'm not a fan of large palettes a 15 pan would be lovely.
Earning the trust of a rescue dog is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Good on ya for rescuing an adult dog; they are all too often overlooked. Maggie is a love!!!

The pops of green were my big draw for this palette, now I'm thinking I need the in the limelight one instead😂😂 I really like your version of the palette, the color story and the layout were waaayyyy more appealing

I actually like it🤔 the scattered layout helps me visualize color combinations that maybe I would've not thought of.
I like it. I think there are a lot of people that are into make up and have all the palettes and every release seems the same to them. I own like 4 or 5 palettes and I only have the it's a mood mega palette. Obviously if you buy everything that comes out, little to nothing's gonna seem exciting. Also, I love the duochrome shades, sometimes I buy them just for those, in fact ordered recently only the duochrome and the shifty ones of the BYOP and they were all amazing, I love them. Sometimes it takes a rescue/adopted dog time to feel secure in their new home & relax enough to show their true personality. When we first brought my girl home she was so timid & just raising your voice would send her running for her crate. She was also very insecure & like velcro with me. Would follow me everywhere, I couldn't be out of her sight. If I closed the bathroom door she would get upset. 15 years later & she's so chill & independent it isn't funny. I think it took her a few weeks to a couple months to really settle in & become secure knowing she was part of the family.
This palette is so pretty & caught my attention with its color story. The photo I originally saw made it look like it had more pink/mauve shades in it. I will have to rewind the video & look at your swatches again. I tend to agree with you regarding placement/arrangement of shades. Usually when I make my custom palettes I try to arrange the pans in columns or rows so I can easily see 3 mattes that will work together (light,med,dark) & the shimmers that will play well with them. But I usually make smaller 9 pan palettes. In a big palette like this I would have appreciated quad groups at least.
Your version is gorgeous I like that you included blues in it, that put it together.
I was instantly drawn to this palette when I saw photos of it and I will definitely pick it up when it's included in a sale at some point.
I agree the colours look scattered around the palette and although I think that's how I got interested in it (because it made the greens stand out), I do like your mock up too. Both are winners.
For those not liking the layout, the shades can always be popped out and rearranged. I have Solstice and Wild Nothing which have my all time favorite shade of green shimmer. So I'm good but it is pretty!
I absolutely love your version!! That blue shade would had me standing by the mailbox!!! Lol. I also like the one released… it works for me. When I go for a weekend away from home, I rather take a palette with neutrals and pops of color. But let’s push Colourpop x Amanda!! I would totally buy it!! I'll be honest, those greens got me! I dont have In The Lime Light or Wild Nothing, so I may pick this one up. Aww Maggie is so sweet!
I personally like it even though its scattered 😆 but I'd be better with some green matte shades 👌💚

The Wild Nothing palette is the one I thought of first. Wish that layout made more sense. Your versions of palettes always look better- Colourpop should hire you!

i can't believe i'm saying this, but i love the neutral lean to this palette. i'm in a more neutral phase of my life and i think the pops of color are so gorgeous. i've been waiting for a peach and green mix!!
also i like random placement, it's more intriguing to my eye. but i can see how it would be frustrating to others.

I really wish they had done your version - it's soooo pretty and I prefer having more choices in a bigger palettes than the same old neutrals with pops of color. Colourpop needs to collab with you ASAP!

Waiting for a whole day for this review and especially comparisons, thank you over and over again, because i tend to forget how many CP palettes i already have and i am sure we ve seen it all before;). I love nail colour 🤩🤩🤩 and your version of Fresh palette i would buy in a moment! It s ripe for collaboration, so CP PR team, please acknowledge that! We maybe don t need another big palette, but we want it :) !

I probably would have bought this if it also had some subdued greens. The ones they chose are very bright and almost neon.

damn.... ok i need the limelight palette now. I really want this palette but your comparisons showed me i have most it... just missing the lime. another informative great video. thank you! Also I love your story about maggie. My dog was a rescue too. A pure bred cocker spaniel they found wandering around the streets. She was pregant when they picked her up and she sat in the animal shelter for 4 months and no one adopted her. That animal shelter was going to euthanize her before another one stepped in and took her and 4 other dogs which was where I found her. When I first got her, her tail was always tucked so far under her legs and wrapped under her belly. You could tell she couldn't even raise it cuz the tail muscles were so atrophied. Little by little, she started wagging it low and under her...8 years later she can actually lift her tail and wag it and it's my pride and joy. I just feel like she feels so safe and happy now and like she doesn't have to constantly brace for abuse or harm. Such a sweet gentle little thing. I love her so much.

Those greens just reminded me of the Tinkerbell palette as soon as I saw them. This is a pretty palette but not one I can't live without - I much preferred your version! :D
It's like they had the idea but ruined it by throwing in boring neutrals like they always do. Yours is SO MUCH BETTER!!! I would've bought your version in a blink of eye. They really need to heir you in their team 💯
Your Maggie story had me tearing up. We rescue all our animals. We got our doggies in feb 2020 as a bonded pair. And I’m so glad bc life knew we were gonna need each other for the road ahead.
I agree with your take on it, the placments of what they put in makes it overwhelming and feeling scattered. They way you made yours would be something I would buy. If they did a springy pale version of it's a mood, that would make total sense. Also, LOVE rescue pups!!! ❤️🐕

In my opinion, colourpop is simply remixing previous shadows into new palettes. I loved the starwars release, at least that is new and fresh. Colourpop is having a 30% off customer appreciation sale for a limited time, why not just pick up one of their older megas? I am liking It's a mood or fade into hue. I prefer the colored mixes better, I have plenty of neutrals. 😉
When i first saw it I instantly thought of a neutral palette with limelight. I agree with you, I would have liked it to be more color forward.

I just ordered the wild nothings, the pale green in it is what sold me along with the peachy colors and neutrals. I like your palette ideas, more dark greens and teal blues seem to be getting popular now. I’ll be back to visit you soon!😊🌺🌼🌸🦋
I'm not sure how I feel about adding the blues to the palette but I think I would have liked some more yellows in it and certainly more green mattes.
Also adorable pupper story 🐶 I get where you're coming from my dog's rescue and at first she did not like to be touched or petted so the first time that she like came up to get pets made me tear up.
As a color lover, I love your palette so much more
I completely agree about the super shocks in palettes, but they weren’t like that at first. The ones in Sweet Talk and in So Jaded are so beautiful and sparkly (and mine still haven’t dried out.) I feel like most of the ones since the have been pretty lackluster. Definitely glad to see no pressed glitters though.
Colourpop really should collab with you...I would buy your version but I'm skipping theirs. I am a color lover. Thanks for the video!

I think the layout is not cohesive and its has too many neutrals to the point it could be ridiculously repetitive for some people, having said that.. I like neutrals and I've been looking for lime/chartreuse greens so this one was perfect for me. I get how it will be boring for others but I quite like it, thanks for the review !! 💚
I think Colourpop should hire you to come up with palette ideas...I love your version and would buy that one immediately! Love the eye look you came up with too.
I’m a sucker for neutrals and I’ve been looking for a palette that had some pops of greens, so this is perfect for me. I agree though that the layout is quite chaotic. Maybe it was done to compensate for the lack of color?

Initially I was drooling over the greens but I have limelight so I definitely don't need more, lol. I was really attracted to the peachy/ pinky/ corally colors and I like the combination of green + coral ❤ I don't think I'd ever buy a mega palette, just too big too much too overwhelming
I own Tinkerbell and Avocado Toast from BH so I think I've my greens covered. And of course I've got my neutrals so...

I was interested in this palette but not anymore. Truthfully, I don’t like big palettes like this one and I don’t own any either. The greens called out to me but watching this, In The Limelight seems like a better choice! Too many neutrals in the big palette for me.

i would’ve preferred your version SOOOO MUCH MORE than this palette. i was excited at first until i realized that i pretty much already have all the same shadows already. it’s boring AF, and i’m so bummed that the bronzers are so ridiculously warm, and i think colourpop could’ve done a much better job. OMG, your dog is soooo adorable!!! 💚💚💚

I agree entirely. I would have liked more green, but further than that I would have liked some differences in the greens. All of the greens seem to be pretty similar both in undertone and depth. To me this palette seems like an expansion of the Urban Decay Wild Greens palette. In Wild Greens each color seems more deliberate however, and I prefer the more simplistic layout and number of options. Gettiin' Fresh is a neutral palette with a pop of green instead of the blue we usually see. I loved your reimagined palette, especially the sky blue shade. Let me know when you release it LOL

Been waiting for your review! I have always preferred their mega palettes because they seem to combine color stories of multiple smaller palettes.
You look amazing in this colour story! 💚 I don‘t have those lime greens in my collection, but I know even if I wanted some, I would rather pick up a strategic single shadow, or two and Nude Mood covers the warm tones. I wonder who is Colourpop targeting nowadays. They only get me when it hits nostalgia, but not enough to actually buy anything.

NGL, I wanted this palette when I first saw it, the peaches and green rly appeal to me right now but after your review, I think I might be able to get a similar look with a mix of the It's All Good and You're Golden palettes paired with In The Limelight... wish they had added more greens, maybe some pops of teals or super bright icy yellows.
I liked your version of the palette way more even though the Gettin' Fresh is pretty. Loved the appearance of Maggie in your video.

It seems as if there is no brown people wont buy it. I bought the "It's a mood"one instead. I believe that due to the fact that they have the hability to produce so much so often, they could really do a color story out of the box from time to time. I love your idea and I would buy it in a second!!
