It has been about two years in the making, but here it finally is, The Resistance. Also, be sure to see our new film, Reclamation here: • Reclamation - Action/S...
Something I noticed is the fighting was very fast paced but when the apprentice was fighting it felt slower, more awkward and thinking about it it makes sense. The apprentice is likely not as powerful and experienced as our main two duelists which would explain the slower paced fighting. Very well choreographed and incredibly entertaining to watch.
Some of the best light saber choreography I've ever seen, especially on the part of ResisterOfEvil. I enjoyed the dramatic context even though the acting was rough. But it had heart. Awesome tracking shot at 3:43 with the reverse pickup. wow. Overall, a much higher than average light saber clip.
None of the fighting was sped up, except for part of me stabbing the sith at the very end. But other than that, none of the fighting was speed at all, what you see is what we did.
Something about the sequence with him coming down the hill (awesome idea and execution!) and his dark side roar is compelling. I keep coming back to that part. Enjoyed this a lot, mates!
For 2006 this is great, absolutely incredible fighting skills and good saber cgi. The only thing I will say is why did the Jedi sound like another species when you look at him in the clash and when getting chocked
This was one of the best fan-made films ever made. I've seen this when I was around 9-10 years old and was captured by how well something can be done by a big Star Wars fan. I noticed that the 2 characters seem to have shared some history. The Sith Lord either was his master or a close friend as a Jedi. He then embraced the dark side and took a new apprentice. It's clear the apprentice was weaker than him, and judging by his master's amazement when his pupil was defeated, he tried to do a Palpatine. He nearly succeded, showed by your anger and the animal-like roars, but then you saw how he affected you and became one with the Force and killed him with his own sword, showing how his arrogance had actually killed him. Had to spend 12 minutes(not kidding) in order to find this again, but loved seeing this again.
bro I remember seeing this like 8 or 9 years ago when I was a little kid and when he force choked the Jedi making his mouth bleed I remember getting so scared I made my mom turn the computer off lol, but nah this is literally a legendary video right here, my childhood.
its amazing how the apprentice keep a straight poker face for the full duration of his fight... choreography was top notch tho, just needs more emotion to drive the struggle home.
Wonderful choreography during the lightsaber interaction and AMAZING special effects gentlemen! Not surprised it took 2 years to complete. Well done....Now I gotta check out the link!
I just wanted to ask umm... why do they all sound like vampires every time someone is killed, injured, and screaming? it's a pretty good video btw just so you know.
As a whole, this video was impressive. The special effects were (mostly) good and the choreography was stellar. I very much enjoyed this video. I also have a few things I'd like to point out issues with. I tend to be blunt when putting these forth, so do take what I say with a grain of salt. *I see a lot of Star Wars lore inaccuracy. That is something you should address in further videos. *Yes. They have feet. Yes, there is dirt in the terrain. Why do we need to constantly see the combatants' feet? It takes away from the appeal of the battle. *The music overpowers the voices of the actors. I cannot hear what is being said properly. *Accepting a red lightsaber does NOT equate to turning to the dark side. A Jedi is just as capable of wielding a red lightsaber as a Sith is of wielding a blue. They're just colours and that just so happened to be the weapon nearby with which the Jedi was able to protect himself. *You are putting in camera angles and pans that are, frankly, unnecessary. It takes away from the tension of the fight. *I find the inhuman growling/snarling to be rather pointless, illogical, and unnecessary. What is the point of that, exactly?
Thank you for taking the time to read my comments. I truly do enjoy a good lightsaber duel and you really brought it to the table. I will be sure to check out your film when I get the time to.
For your complaint of them not using both colors or say as if the colors of the Saber means you are then a sith, it is simbolizm meaning they have given into the dark side and that there can not be in between but only one side.
+Lunor M. Actually, red light saber crystals Are found on a planet different fro the one other crystals are. They give off a strange aura that affects the beholders attitude and when he growls its because hes succumbing to the dark side and he is trying to fight it.
Wow this was one of my fav things to watch so many years ago. Wanted to find it again! Great work, really inspired some of the duals I write myself (I write scripts and stuff lolololol) (it is also filming at its best, very well done!)
Even by today's LCC (Lightsaber Choreography Competition) standards, this was an amazing and awesomely fast paced Choreography, apart from the apprentice I must add...
Anyone notice this is called "The Resistance" - This was also created seven years ago... The new movie's sides are The First Order, and The Resistance.
What! I thought the audio got copyright blocked and muted! Incredible. Just an incredible fan film with the use of lord of the rings soundtrack to up the hype and epicness. True nostalgia right here. Love this.
It's awesome. I do have a couple of questions though. Why does using a red lightsaber start turning him to the dark side? Leia used a red saber in the books. I an episode of Clone Wars, Obi-Wan had to use Ventress's red sabers. And why does he start growling when he's about to turn to the dark side? Other than these 2 things, it's awesome.
+Daniel Fincannon The red lightsaber was being used as a narrative device. I know using one does not make a jedi evil, but hopefully we still made our point. Glad you liked the rest.
+John Zhou no red lightsabers are used by the following dark jedi, sith, sith aprentises, and jedi that battle sith and take their lightsabers for an advantige
Awesome sauce, you guys did an amazing job with the saber battles, not even joking, it is fricken amazing what you guys did with this video. Looked better than some big budget fight sequences. Good job

exclude the acting this was very well done. Much more fast paced and life like than other videos and also nice clothing, was a nice touch. And as master Yoda would say "Impressive, most impressive."
14 years later, still better than the whole sequel trilogy

@@Noahdoesdrums lol
Seriously. The apprentice was fighting very lightly.
No aggression, no power, no ferocity.
Was bro a monster like what was he?
Im still freaking out of how good these effects are. Take in for consideration that this was made in 2006!!
Thanks!
Don't forger about the choreography!
@@ResisterOfEvil you should be in stunts in star wars films you guys are seriously talented

how did THREE people make a better lightsaber fight scene than a whole crew did (Disney)
Who else is here re-watching this in 2020?
Because honestly this fight was really good when I was kid. And well it still is
This is truly a CZcams classic
The resistance here is oddly enough better than the actual resistance we ever had
Not sure if I'm the only one, but the Sith-guy looks a bit like Kylo Ren from the newest Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens"

The skills and combat saber swings in this are phenomenal😍😱 Amazing job!
Very good but why does the Jedi keep making growling noises like golum from lord of the rings?
And music too
idk
+Ronan O'Kane It might be the dark side of the force flowing through him and that's how he channels his anger.
+Neko Rave Omg I'm dying!!!
It has lord of the ring music.

this is the most realistic light Saber battle I've ever seen this has to be be in a movie of star wars

Great choreography, guys. Nicely done!
Their movements seem awkward and stiff not fluid like in a real duel
It's because they under cranked the camera to make it look faster than it actually was. That's why it looks unnatural.
