Fire Truck Gives Water Salute To Rare Train! Steam Locomotive & Caboose Special Move On CSX!
Vložit
- čas přidán 25. 02. 2024
- Steam locomotive being moved over CSX by RJ Corman Railroad and CSX. The fire department in Winchester, Kentucky gave a water salute to the steam engine. This train also has a rare Clinchfield locomotive, passenger cars and a caboose that is being moved to Ravenna, Kentucky to the new railroad historical society museum and grounds. See my long videos of this move that took two days. I am thinking about posting at 7am instead of 8am. Any thoughts?
Filmed in 1080p with 30fps. Thanks for watching!

I am 65yrs, when I was a child my Dad told me a story of when he was a child, we grew up about 700ft away from the train tracks that also had a split off that went to other city's and towns with cargo but the main line went towards the south east of Ma. the story he told me was that when it came to the crossing he would look down the tracks and the steam locomotive would be traveling towards him, he said it looked like a giant monster and as back when I was a child I remember the gatesmen coming out and lighting flares to warn of oncoming trains. the world seemed so simple then, unlike today where someone would like you to forget the world was ever that good growing up!
I’m 27 and so wish that I got to live in a time like that. Things aren’t as great as people would like to pretend they are. People aren’t connected anymore, I’m fortunate enough to have experienced a bit of life before cell phones and the internet really took over. The generation coming up right now will never be able to imagine what that was like. Sad
It certainly wuz a better place back then! Bless you ole timer I'm 71 and lived that time also.
Im 20 I don't really live too close to train tracks but still get to hair trains once in a while every time we ever went on vacation we would go down to I forget where exactly but they have a couple of old trains on display in a couple of really old diesels too I don't even know ever going to get a chance to go on vacation again mainly because of a few reasons don't know how well are two cats are going to do we don't even know if our vehicle is going to decide to behave because our vehicles are known for breaking days or the day of when we leave to go on vacation but then again our truck is more reliable than our 96 Jeep. Even though our truck is a 78 Chevy truck we rarely have to deal with problems with it
That's cool I'll be 35 would love to see a steam locomotive In action
@williamsantangelo I too, am 71 and lived through that period in history, yet for such a much too short period of time. The Diesels made their full-time appearance here in the early 1960's.
My father was a rail-roader. Part of a small crew of men, of whom worked for and lived in railroad housing, as did my mother, older brother and two younger sisters.
May the last salute I hear...
The EMD was my favorite! And what a beautiful horn! Loud too!
Worthy of a much larger crowd!!!!
Watch till the end; more people at end...
Love the water salute ! When Navy ships return from a deployment, tugboats give water stream salutes.
Thanks for watching!
Planes too
Two, beautiful locomotives!! Thank you!
Wow. I loved it. That would be an awesome sight to see up close. Thanks for sharing...
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm an old guy and the Kanawha (Berkshire) was more impressive to me. 🙂 Yes, the F7 looked beautiful, and the sound of that 2 Stroke Detroit pounding away is always soothing. The only shame is, if CSX wants to put their name on the side of the tender, they should have got her running again. Getting dueling sounds of an EMD horn and a 2-8-4 whistle would have been REALLY something. But Hey, they both look a lot better going down the rail than rusting on a siding...
THAT'S why, mon cheri, all you old codgers drive steam-powered motorcars ! Hee-hee-hee ! 😉 💋 💋 💋
I love those old engines back in the day. I'm 66 years old today. And I still have a little child in me about trains.🚂
That train horn is magical!!!!
Great to see
Two classic railroad engines
Hope you got to enjoy your Florida trip
This brought back some great memories! In the 60s we lived near the tracks in Alabama and my twin brother and I sat and waved at the passenger trains every day.
Jaw Tooth. You hit the jackpot with that train with a water salute. That was extremely cool. Robert. Thumbs 👍
Thanks 👍
Beautiful. Great historical stuff from start to finish!!!
Those 2 locomotives look fantastic. Great catch.
Spectacular examples of rail transportation of days past, JT! I'm so glad you caught them. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Now that’s super Awesome!! Glad you shared it, much appreciated!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A really rare and beautiful F-Type (F3?) and certainly, the water salute is very cool to see as well :)
Indeed it is!
F9, louver in front of the porthole.
@@frederickschulkind8431 Thank you!
RJ Corman was looking fabulous too! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
WOW! Loved, loved, loved your video. Those old style EMD F series diesels are my favorite. And the steam loco - what a beauty! Another of my favs. How rare to have my two favs not only in the same video, but on the same train!!! JT you're the best! Love your videos!
Thanks JT have a good from Scotland 😊
Thank you too
@@JawTooth your welcome JT 😊👍
Wow I love that old train. EMD F3 s were the ones I watched up close when I was young. Great memories. ❤
That was very awesome live action there Brian. I really enjoyed that my friend.
Yes indeed that is a very rare train. Cool stuff
Thanks for watching!
I can only imagine what horn would sound like in the hollows on the old clinchfield line in Kentucky and Virginia.
Now that was worthy of a water salute, awesome!!!!👍🏼💯
Thanks 👍

@@JawTooth Thank you 🙂🚂🗽🙂.
Brother,,The 765 Nickel-Plate is the Only Train that makes my heart pound👍🏼
Im 56 & have only seen a functioning steam train once .... early 80s GO Transit (Toronto commuter rail service ) opened its 1st northbound line on the Don Valley .... the grand opening at Richmond Hill the most northern station had a northbound Go train meet nose to nose with CNR 6060 a 4-8-2 mountain & some vintage cars
Interesting enough back in those early days GO Transit was running EMD FP7s ....Ex Ontario Northern Railway stock
CSX was looking mighty fine also, JT! A super video. Chessie made it even better! Thank you for the entertainment. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice old EMD F unit with that loud Leslie horn!🛤🚂
Beautiful video! Clinchfield EMD F3 #800 and C&O Alco 2-8-4 Kanawha #2716 are spectacular, as are the caboose and trailing cars! Short but good looking train! I absolutely loved it!
I wouldn’t mind seeing the 2716 pulling some intermodal! That would be cool!
Wow! Excellent catching the CSX Steam locomotive, I like it, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much.
Thank you too!
This was an awesome train !!! I love the picture of the dog in the window !!! It is sooo adorable !!!
Sweet! Thank you and have a great day!
Thanks! You too!
That was awesome the classics and the the car wash thumbs up
Thanks 👍m
Brian: thanks for taking the time to document and share the history of the building of America - Our Railroads. And thanks for all the EMDs!!!!!
Beautiful line up of locomotives, even at the end there were different ones. The bull noses are such good memories of the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and early 80s. They are still the quintessential diesel for many rail fans. They were 'the new look' after a century of steam engines..
Yes indeed!
That's a super-distinctive, authoritative horn on Clinchfield 800. Railroad Historical Society Museum at Ravenna, KY a perfect destination. What a handsome unit! And love that steamer 2716, 4-8-4. Wonderful fire truck salute. Another great catch, JT!
Indeed!
Excellent! This was great to watch! Nice to see folks turning out to see the old girl on the move for the last time. A piece of history going to its proper place, not a boneyard.
Well said!
That is too cool. Absolutely awesome. Hope shes going to a good home and possible restoration to running. Thanks JT!
I hope so too! She will though. She is being restored right now
Thank you for the amazing video! It's good to see trains from a time period when America was a better place! Soon to be good again!
Couldn't agree more!
Good Monday morning JT,another great video. Be safe out there this week.
Hi bill
How are you doing I would still like to get together and talk about the railroads down here

Wow! So impressive. And it's clean as the board of health! Kudos to everyone on board and those on the ground capturing the memories. That water salute was everything!

That was one cool video and one cool salute!
During the week i usually can't watch your video until after work, so that post time would not matter to me.
Awesome, thanks! I'm going to try it for awhile and see how it goes
I was lucky enough to see #800 last August when I did a safari to see 3 of the remaining ex Southern Railway E8s. They are on my channel.
That was awesome! 7am is fine.
Glad to see the wipers still work on the F unit.
That’s a beautiful steam engine I hope it’s repaired
The dog couldn't care less, ha ha ha.
Now that was something of beauty.
Power and grace. They sure don't make em like that anymore.
THANKS JAW!!
Wow, that,s a superb train, has it all classic EMD, steam loco & Caboose. That,s the type of EMD my cousin used to b an engineer on
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Those Gyralites were fascinating at night! When I was a teenager in the late 70s, I used to take my old 55 Ford and park at a wide space next to the Tracks at night in Solway, TN and it would be pitch black except for those Gyralites headed toward me. I still miss that spooky feeling!
Couldn't agree more...today's "ditch lights" are a joke.
