  • This is the first video in our series featuring the Powertran Transcendent 2000, This Tim Orr designed kit-synth was featured in Electronics Today International in 1978 and we are taking a look at this minty specimen before jumping in to refurbish the instrument more than 40 years later.
Special thanks to Mindburner for footage featured in the introduction. Check out his video on the Transcendent 2000 at:

Having too much time (retired), I am looking into this odd thing. It had been cool to make a sort of clone, though I have all the "difficult" ICs in stock. Sadly, all the articles from ETI are available, but reconstructing a PCB is difficult as there are a few millimeters missing here and there on the scans.
Thumbs up for you excellent video!

Magnus, I think I have assembled a version of the PCB that has the traces intact, send me an email and I will email you the files. Contact info in the About section of the channel.

Sawtooth and triangular wave are not the same thing by different names, and not interchangeable terms.

Sorry 'my bad' if I suggested they were. A term that is used, or at least was in the early days in the UK was 'ramp' where 'sawtooth' is more common in North America..
