Yeah people always say seasons should be base game (it should) but I never hear anyone talk about why pets aren't
Paralives is going for an old-fashioned yet brilliant business model. If you bring the consumer base a complete product with consistent updates to keep it alive and relevant, people will buy it naturally and happily and spread the word about it and they will make money without gouging the customer to make it happen. They're listening to player feedback, they're giving constant updates, and they're giving basic and complex functions for FREE, knowing the product will speak for itself. Big game companies nowadays do not trust their products, which is why they give "leaks" and "teases." If you're confident in your product, you'll push it on stage for the world to see and be proud to do it.
I just hope Paralives has a gallery option or something similar because I suck at building and sims 4 gallery is quite useful to just download and put on my lot

For years I've felt another company should put out a sims-like game to give EA come competition. Maybe EA would treat its customers better. Competition makes for better games.
No more life simulation monopoly and disregard for the consumer wishes 🙅🏼♀️
@@ChronicBanshee nah it’s not going to have much effect. Fifa had competition from PES for years, but that game is not treated any differently than Madden which has no competition.
It’s very unlikely people will rather buy Paralives than Sims, and those who will buy Paralives will most likely buy both games anyway.

The Sims already stole some ideas from Paralives. I feel so sorry for them showing stuff in their CZcams channel. While EA Games go ahead and copy them.
I feel like if Paralives manages to do everything right that EA does wrong, it’ll easily surpass TS5 .. Especially if TS5 is TS4 Jr. 🥴
If it weren't for indie games we wouldn't have AAA games coming up with new ideas... The whole battle royale genre came to be from an indie game... Excited to see where this goes!
I do hope custom lots will let you make public spaces, could lead to some fun park builds n' such.
Ngl I don't really care for EA Games anymore I hope Paralives can be its own game even it doesn't meet the same level as the sims as long it has a decent gameplay I'm down.

I guess they just know what Simmers have been annoyed by and don't want to make the same mistake. Big companies don't always listen to what their customers want because they have enough profit, but indie developers care more about their customers I guess?

@@iamboring6511 I'm not comparing them, they're two completely different games. But in my opinion, from what I've seen, EA needs to step up their game because Indie games are way better than the ones big companies bring out lately

My horse girl story is there was a very nice girl I grew up with from primary school who always had a lot of horse merch and talked about horses. It was to the point people would always give her horse-themed things. One day in high school English class she was sitting next to me and said she was stuck on what to do for her fiction writing paper and our teacher was like "why don't you just write about a horse?" to which this girl sighed and turned to me and said "can I tell you a secret?...I actually don't like horses very much."
Side note: I love the shadows and light and movement in paralives. There was one video that showed an apartment with the curtains over the door blowing in the breeze and it just felt so calming and realistic. Thanks for the update!

If you read the paralives comments it's always that one person thats always being highly critical/ almost in defense of ea/the sims 4 but like the sims 4 has been out for like a decade paralives isn't even out of development and it's doing well in the short amount of time it's been in development.
To be fair, Paralives is doing more. If you think about it realistically, EA charge a $20+ fee for any new significant content. Even with the ‘pets’ pack they didn’t add horses but luckily the paralives team isn’t being greedy 😂

@@frumion paralive isn’t the same as sims and isn’t as high quality and if u were an og you would know the sims is more expansive because they introduced game packs for the first ever time in the sims franchise

Yay! I always enjoy your videos but I wasn’t expecting a Paralives update from you, so bonus! Personally I’m looking forward to Paralives; a little competition for EA is good, but mostly it just looks like a really interesting game so far. I especially like what they’ve been showing us of their animations: the way the paras laugh makes me want to laugh with them. The animations are subtle, which makes them feel more real which I really appreciate. Thanks for another great video!

I have always loved this shader style so a life sim with it, I cannot wait!
I think they don't share too much gameplay cause they're afraid the Sims team will copy them. Rightfully so since EA has the budget and the people to recreate what a small team makes in months in days
The customize a lot size and feature alone is enough to get me on board with this, hopefully this forces EA's hand in the sims 5 to add more features condensed in less packs. Id love to see paralives still do packs like college pack ect...

All these games look fine, but why do they all ignore the "Simulation" part of Sims and only focus on design? I'm saying that rhetorically, as I know it's because the sim part of Sims is the actual meat of the game and is also the most complex to pull off. So far, this just looks like a house design tool, which is fine, but until a game actually shows simulation in a fully formed game I cannot get that excited
I do love horses, though I've never ridden one, I have been to a state park here in Michigan USA, who has a kind of farm petting zoo with horses, pigs, cows, goats, sheep and chickens, ducks and geese, so I have petted them! But that being said, I really couldn't care less whether The Sims or Paralives has horses, in fact I didn't really like it in The Sims 3, though that was mostly because they chose to have wild horses, which would run through my Sims yards all the time!
I would rather Paralives just focus on pets that your average person can own, most people don't own horses! So I just want to be able to start a base game with a cat or a dog, or maybe even a guinea pig or hamster, or maybe even a lizard or a bird, and of course fish!
I've been following this game since 2019, when Alex was the only one working on it, so I am really excited to finally get to play it someday, hopefully soon too!
So long as Sims development continue to overdo the silly animations with funny faces etc, for the young children, they can keep it. Im very much looking forward to Paralives which appeals more to my taste.

Guys, please stop treating Paralives as a tool to "make EA listen to their players", or your "dream The Sims game". Although these are both life simulation games, they are still separate, and if you're sick of EA making million overprized packs, then just stop spending your money on their games
He actually started to make this game because of the lack luster gameplay of TS4, also sims 5 has taken Paralives stretch and drag items idea.

@granttodd3118 "Paralives creator Alex Massé has confirmed that script mods will not be available for the game upon its initial release. He did confirm, however, that the team are “working on tools that will allow people to customize the game in a lot of different ways and share these as mods on Steam Workshop." (via GameInformer).
it says "upon release" so i very much hope that later on down the development cycle they do implement script mods

not much game play. It is pretty. As a builder I would enjoy building in the game & creating Paras. But doesn't seem like there is much game play.

Why in the world are they destroying the characters by placing black lines around their bodies and clothing. I've seen that effect in other games and really dislike it. Turns them into cartoons.
