Sweeping colors, breakneck action, an excess of emotion, and plenty of laughter, make this heartfelt quest a film that you’re not soon to forget. But beyond the film’s obvious merits, we’re here to review its timeline, both within the Guardians Saga and its overall placement in the wider MCU. Because this video is dropping before the film actually arrives in theaters, we’ll be keeping spoilers to a minimum, and due to the fact that we don’t have a digital copy of the film to work with yet, don’t expect this to be as in-depth as usual. That said, the film does provide us with just enough information to help us place Guardians 3 on our MCU Timeline.

CORRECTION(s): In the post-credits scene, Quill could possibly be talking about the neighbor’s son being 45 years old, instead of himself. The sentence works both ways, depending on where you place the punctuation.
The foliage best fits Spring or Fall, not Summer. In future videos I will place Guardians 3 in Spring (thanks to the Kevin Bacon Easter egg).
He is referring to his neighbour in that scene but we can assume he's around a similar age

Great vid as always! Just saw the movie and loved it. I think the age thing is 100% accurate because he definitely subtracts those 5 years from the blip so 2026 works out perfectly!

The phase 5 films so far have released in Timeline order, hopefully they keep doing so with the MCU movies going forward

My thought was that Meredith met Ego in 1980, so Peter most likely was born in 81.
This film also dates him at 8 years old when the Ravagers picked him up in 1988.
@@Geekritique interesting. That doesn't really work with the beginning of Vol2. For them to meet in 1980 and for him to be born in 80 means they met in the Winter and it doesn't seem that way at the beginning of Vol2. I guess it was a mild winter.
Gunn has stated in past tweets that Quill was born in late 1980.

Been pondering this since I’m also using this as an updated timeline beyond just the guardians video lol since I unfortunately can’t afford patreon rn but that being said I know it gets wonky but with Jen going out and talking to the Kev bot about wanting the x men and then having Professor X in Doctor strange does that potentially move them around? I know she’s like stepping out of the world and also we don’t really have the x men yet but I’ve been thinking about this lol

I agree, it feels like (probably thanks to Covid) we got a bit closer to their in-universe dates as were now only 3 years out from that time.

i am looking at the timeline, and I am kind of confused which goes first: Werewolf by Night or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special? because werewolf by night is a Halloween special and the guardians of the galaxy holiday special is a Christmas special, so I am confused? Hey Dakota! I like tracking the timeline too, and your videos are so fun to watch! I was wondering if you noticed the Cardinal flowers outside the Quill residence right before Peter walks in? These flowers seem to bloom anywhere from July to September in Missouri, so I have this as more of a late October early November placement, to keep with the dying trees and the fire in the chimney. What are your thoughts?

Hello Geektrique 👋😊, I have a question and also an observation.
The question is about the DCEU Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what year the apocalyptic future seen in BVS and Snydercut takes place? (If I were to guess this, I would venture dates between 2022-2033)
and, as absurd as what I'm going to say now is, one of the most consistent superhero titles in chronological positioning is the “acclaimed and loved” Fant4stic Four (2015), no need to head bang the film already leaves its positioning well defined, a pity they didn't take care of everything else unfortunately 😓
I haven’t given much thought to the apocalyptic ending honestly, and as for Fant4stic I have to check that timeline accuracy out at some point. I’ve never looked at it with that lens.

Hoping that it’ll have some legs by the time the film drops, so people have something to watch when they leave the theater, and that this will be a fruitful venture.
