Rehab and Revive Physical Therapy - We CAN and we WILL get better together!
Currently 4:38am, I have finally found peace :)
Great news @dswade808
@@RehabRevive it's 3:30 am for me
6:30 am still struggling
Lol it’s 6:00 and the sun is rising right now. I think i’ll just count this as another sleepless night
Same. Sleeping on a hard mattress and finally found the relief from his advice. 🥲
Now don't move for the next six to nine hours.....
Hehe 69
same thing i was thinking cause i turn every 30 mins lol
You won't toss and turn you will stay in that position all night if you do it right. You toss and turn because you don't have all that support. Try it. Works
But what about before you go too sleep? I change sides constantly before I fall asleep.
@@dusk1234567890 Me too until I tried this now I can sleep all night.
@@dusk1234567890 i used to be the same way. I have taught myself to stay still in bed before going to sleep. It just takes self discipline and practice. You can teach yourself to do it if u focus on not moving around when u lie in bed. It also helps me ease my mind before sleeping
It's actually true. I usually toss and turn a fair bit throughout the night. Recently bought a few extra pillows to try it out and I stayed in this position for nearly the entire night. I won't lie and say I didn't move at all, but I very noticeably cut the tossing and turning by at least half.
No. You toss and turn because staying in one position will always get uncomfortable at some point during sleep. Like sitting in a comfy chair. Your body will get restless because the body gets stiff over time and need to readjust. Can’t control your body if you’re not awake
thanks a lot just 3days of doing this has relieved my upper back pain a bit
Keep at it! You'll start to notice more and more changes!
ok tnx
Most people move and turn while sleeping so this seems to be a good tip, but will probably not work for most people after they turn the first time...
Been suffering from bad low back and leg pain and neck pain. I feel sore when I wake up and lay down on my bed. I can't afford a new mattress but I'm looking to get a nice matress topper. The pillow between the legs has helped alot as well as the support of the neck with a towel, but I personally used a soft thin blanket
Yes that works too. It's the general construct and concept that is the most important.
Thanks for your Service, Albert 😁
My thoughts are these would be good tips to use at hotels. But I'm looking and will give them a try at home. Appreciate ya.
Thank you! I have shoulder pain and this has helped greatly!
It’s very nice to find a quick and straightforward video. Thanks, I’ll have to check out more of your information.
i usually sleep a lot on my right side, will try this and let you know how it goes!
Soooo... How did it go?
@@vidjerman865 helped a lot! it was very comfortable :)
Any way to help with arm discomfort though? When I sleep on my left side my arm/elbow area is sore feeling due to the bend and then feels no better straight out. Trying to sleep on the left side since I’m pregnant though Back sleeping has been my preferred(but now it’s not as comfy as my belly grows)
Thank you sm, it worked for me (after many trials and errors.)
Thank you, just subscribed . This is very helpful as i have sleep apnea and hip problems and must sleep on my left side..
lol, bed time will never be the same after seeing this
Shit, I’ve been laying on my arm for 18 years and apparently that causes terrible problems in the future
How's your arm now?
@@RitchieRosson I stopped doing it after I watched this video. Only time will tell. So far so good
Well thanks for telling us WHAT WE ALL KNOW ALREADY... EXCELLENT WORK
You are welcome. Thanks for the view
The idea that any one should have to do all these multiple tasks for a good nights sleep is unreasonable.
okay then keep doing what your doing and stop watching these videos..?
Tell it to your body then. I assume most people who watched this did so because they experience discomfort when sleeping on their side...
@@GMPro24 You know, your reply is so stupid, I won't justify it by making a detailed response.
@@LangstonDev All I had to do was get a good quality mattress and pillow. Problem solved.
Trying this cus cant sleep 👨🏽⚖
TY FOR THIS!
if you want to know more about workouts, just go to Unflexal page, there you'll find your answers :)
You were going towards the ankle. The ankle is important as well. They are tough bones, that only makes sense tough bones like that creating pressure against each other would be bad. I use my comfortor to separate the those areas and sometimes a pillow as well. But my arm gets pinched and I end up rotating at night. But the position feels too good to fall asleep in. Well Ig its my shoulder since thats what i rest my head on with my pillow inbetween them.
I can see me now with my new partner. We finally are at that point of sleeping together. Then I start pulling out all of these pillows and towels! "Out of the way hon, I need more pillows over there. Ouch, my hip! Can you move this way, over to that side, I need more room for all my pillows and stuff. Perfect your way over there. Wow, that's Hot!
Good point. I did this with my then girlfriend and now wife. She appreciated it.
@@RehabRevive Any tips for sleeping right to avoid my issue, my ribs, around the solar plexus, often feel squished after sleeping. Also, how does one avoid making the pectorals avoid feeling squished, since side sleeping can sometimes put one in a position similar to the 'pec deck' exercise.
Thanks.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
OMG!! Thank you so much. God bless you.
Very imformative, thank you.
You're welcome! Let us know if you give the sleep positioning a try and how it works for you. We also have an updated version of this video with new info! czcams.com/video/IWBa06-hCi4/video.html
This was so informative. Thank you thank you! I'm definitely trying this tonight. 😊👍
We are grateful you spent the time to watch. We hope you subscribe to our channel and learn more!!
I tried to sleep like this but it’s difficult for me. I only get sleep by putting lower hand straight
Hello Dr. Lin---Thanks for the clip with Demo & explanation for sleeping position to avoid frozen shoulder pain--- Communication with you has helped me to come out of Frozen shoulder state- Could avoid medical advices as-- MIR scan ,injections etc- & now enjoying freedom of movements-- Many Thanks
Can u share your frozen shoulder state b4 and what u did to get better please?
I can't sleep at all any other positions
I feel like my shoulder is being crushed when I sleep on my side and I don’t know how to fix it
That's why we made this video
I skipped to 1:44 to get to the point, and thought I'd seen something dodgy 😅
Thank you. Great ideas. 😊👍
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed!
Yeah, I just roll on to my back.
Good tips
Thank you 🤗
That's cool and all but I still wake up in a "fallen off a 20 story building" position
I sleep on my side and lately my hip bone is hurting. It feels like my hip bone puts a lot of pressure against the bed, which quickly flattens the mattress and makes it hard. Am I sleeping wrong or do I just need a new bed?
Thank you for this, finally I don't wake up tossing and turning all night.
You are welcome
you forgot to put pillow to support his R arm lol . I also took CFS with IPA!!!
He needs another pillow for his right arm
I absolutely agree. We've been including a forth pillow under the top arm when educating our patients on how to side sleep. Great catch!
Sleeping on my side is killing my shoulders, and I don't know what to do about it, as it is very hard for me to sleep on my back.
Hello! We actually just recently posted an updated side-sleeping guide! It might be helpful for you.
Thanks
Thank you so much!!
What about the opening of your shoulders resulting in bad posture and rotator cuff stress?
Were we designed to sleep on our side?
Thanks!
What about the shoulders???
Thank you.
How's Albert?
Thank you 🙏🙏
So much complextion in side sleeping....I would sleep straight from now..😂
Thank you
How do i sleep upside down?
My problem with side and stomach sleeping is my arms fall asleep
The only problem I have is sleeping on my side is my left shoulder hurts. That's it!
yeah but what if you move constantly
come on man who can sleep like that, if you switch between side and back sleeping your are f#%@ed
Bros just chilling haha
Where do you keep your arms?
Don't think most people will sleep with multiple towels, pillows, blanket and a human in one bed
We can't speak to what most people will do. But Dr. Lin sleeps this way. His wife sleeps this way. And the staff sleeps this way. Most of our patients have converted and sleep this way. Once you start, you'll feel uncomfortable without all the support. It's like sleeping on a cloud when done properly. Also, who needs to spend thousands on a fancy bed when you can adjust most mattresses with just a couple of towels and pillows? :)
I have a bulged and herniated disc in my neck. Also a failed back surgery. And I'm in pain constantly, especially first getting up in the morning. My shoulder is stuck up higher and my neck is stuck too. Along with my arm I have to kind of hold when I'm just starting to move around. I'm not sure if my mattress is any good anymore or my pillows. Not sure what to get for good ones. I sleep with my head on two pillows and a pillow in between my legs. But I do wake up in other positions. And where I'm in chronic pain because of this is there any way a video can be done to for cleaning the house? Example I have to do dishes by hand and my neck pain makes it so hard because it's hitting the nerves and makes it very hard to do house hold chores. Thank you..

@@stevenwhear4463 does it help w crushing shoulder? I actually sprained it once i think cos it got crushed under body weight..
I don’t want wrinkles but I love sleeping on my side
Wrinkles? I’m NOT being arrogant but wrinkles are caused by gravity not sleeping position. Don’t allow my profile picture fool you. It’s 9 years old. I was 50. I watched this video because I have cervical stenosis. It’s a very serious condition. Waking up on my belly can paralyze me. Don’t fear wrinkles. Enjoy good health. I’m being 100% genuine.
Can't sleeping on your side the wrong way cause scoliosis?
There has to be an easier way to sleep on your side???
Exactly, our forefathers managed to get this far without having such complicated methods of slsep

Any tips for someone who needs to roll over at points to breastfeed in the night?
Pillows still help and can block you and save your arms from numbness and tingling too
I have a question I feel I haven’t seen covered anywhere.
So I feel a lot of the pressure on my shoulder and started lately feeling pain around the trapezius, shoulder area. I notice when I sleep on my side I round my shoulder and then put my weight on it. Versus having my shoulders pulled back and down like you would if you were standing up straight! Could this contribute to this pain I’m experiencing? Not only that, but can it also in the long run contribute to any postural problems or shoulder impingements? Thanks!
your intuition is correct on all fronts. try the sleep posturing for a few weeks and see what happens. of course sleeping in your back is better. please watch our video on that
Sleeping with a pillow will never have your head in a neutral position. Using towels or pilowless sleeping is best.
So how did they sleep 10000 years ago...?
Good question. We suspect on their backs due to more surface area vs boney round edges of the head, shoulders, and hips
Temper pedic cave rocks
Does not work
I used to sleep on my right side until I got vertigo
sleeping on the side is the best daddy
Too much effort mate
The little actor man looks depressed but ty for tip!
i thought i knew how to sleep🙃
Nah it won’t work!

THE ARMS... THE REAL PROBLEM ARE THE ARMS
This looks like the introduction of a porn...
Poor guy.
girlfriends comes in handy??
Lmao this is just stupid on so many levels.
1. History of human kind
2. Practicality
3. Effort needed
🙄
That's an assumption that everyone was taught correctly. But most people in pain suffer because of these habits
@@RehabRevive i don't think i sleep the way i do because i was taught to but i cannot confirm that.
I always try to find the most comfortable position and safest for my skeleton.
So myb teaching people how to sleep healthier is the best key, i just don't see how having all those things (pillows) is practical, its not aligned with our 'evolutionary history' - certainly not with rural people - humans have never slept like that, and its just so much effort. Thanks for thr reply
