For those channel followers that want to know more, I have made this list of the 10 books that I consider essential for understanding the context of this game, that is World War One. The list of course could be much longer but I think these books cover a broad section of subjects and are all very approachable. 1. The First World War by Michael Howard which is a very readable introduction to World War I. 2. 1914-1918: The History of the First World War by David Stevenson. 3. The First World War by John Keegan. 4. The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914 by Christopher Clark. 5. Ring of Steel: Germany and Austria-Hungary by A Watson. 6. The Price of Glory: Verdun 1916 by Alistair Horne. 7. The First World War Volume 1: To Arms by Hew Strachan. 8. The Fall of the Ottomans: The Great War in the Middle East by E Rogan. 9. Pandora´s box: A History of the First World War by Jörn Leonhard. 10. Paris 1919. Six Months that changed the world by Margaret MacMillan
Germany also didn't take territory from Austria like they did from France. England also had a historical enmity with Russia over Asian territories. The German Kaiser, Russian Czar, and British King were also cousin thanks to Queen Victoria from the previous century. It's not important to the game, but an interesting fact.

Interesting stuff my friend, you obviously enjoy your history of this period. Looking forward to more in this series.

All true! It sounds like we both enjoy our history.
@@risingsun2712 Yes, about 120 or so years before. It did happen, but it was from a totally different war in a different age.
Nice lecture on antebellum diplomacy
Thanks!
