What We Learned From the Belgian GP

The Formula 1 2021 Belgian GP was...a mess, to say the least. Red flags, heavy rain, and a lot of confusion and mixed feelings surrounding the FIA's decision-making. A huge topic of debate was the motion to award half-points for this "race" and whether this was event legal according to the requirements in the sporting regulations.
We decided to cover the main elements of this Grand Prix, what went wrong, and what should have been done instead.

@@ZeppelinNL the drivers didn’t want to go out, the fans wanted a race, so why not try to get 75% done and if after 5-10 laps, drivers think it’s too dangerous, red flag it!

Thought: if you do cancel the race after qualifying, give out a limited # of points for the top qualifiers (e.g. the same 3-2-1 from the Sprint Race or 5-4-3-2-1 for the Top 5, or something like that).

Glad, we're not rating this "race" because it quite clearly would have gotten the lowest score possible.
Waiting around for multiple just to get two Safety Car laps was pretty frustrating, but at least we can all say we were there, when talking about this race in a few years.
