    I am curious if there are any studies on the impact of vaccines to our immune system versus un-vaxxed tolerance building.

    •  Před 2 měsíci +11

      Vaccines make your immune system better, literally. Being too clean, too dirty and not eating a well rounded diet rich in whole foods will reduce your immune system.

    • @Typhoonbladefist
      @Typhoonbladefist Před 2 měsíci

      It’s a moot point when you consider the people that need protection the most are the ones most likely to die from infection and would be unable to acquire natural immunity.
      Besides that, the flu mutates regularly so I’m not sure how long natural immunity would even benefit someone in the first place.
      The vaccine gives you natural immunity to various mutations we can find and add anyway without the risk of dying to the virus.

    I had a neighbour who had a bad reaction from a flu shot maybe a few decades ago, I don't know exactly when he took it, it was before I moved next door, but it paralyzed his legs for half a year. He got over the initial shock and was and was and is currently able to walk again but he has sometimes needed a cane and to lie down a lot some days and take painkillers (Tylenol 3s is what I think he normally takes) because he has neurodegeneration that no doctors have any hope to prevent and at least his one leg is slowly getting worse.

      IMO Masks are protecting mainly others. That’s why you should wear one if you’re sick. It protects you just a bit. Also depends what kind of mask we are talking about. Generally during flu season mask is better than no mask if you are older or with compromised immunity.
      Vaccines generally don’t prevent you from getting flu. They lower the risk and severity of disease.
      Also the most important thing is to wash your hands properly and have quality sleep that’s how you minimize the risk of getting sick. Oh and avoiding crowds in enclosed spaces.
      Fortunately flu isn’t that serious for most of the population.
