    I wonder if you could just turn the oven on pretty high with the water instead of the low temp it puts out with the feature?

    The "steam clean" is a complete joke. It does not produce any steam or condensation of any type, the oven only heats to 190 for less than 10 minutes then stops heating and was verified with an internal thermometer by a service technician. The cycle on this video shows 30 minutes, the Frigidaire model FGGF3059TD gas range we just got lasts only 20 minutes. You put 1 cup of water in and at the end you have to soak up 1 cup of luke warm water out of the bottom that does not assist much at all. The service tech called Frigidaire and was told this is normal operation of the "steam clean". If you are buying this for the "steam clean" feature, save your money or buy another brand, I wish I did. You would be better off using hot tap water on a sponge and saving a lot of time and frustration for a light cleaning.

      I thought my oven might be broken because this is what I observed as well. At least you saved me a call from a technician.

      @@karengutrath It is definitely frustrating to expect a "steam" or something even remotely close to steam from a brand new oven with the steam clean feature but instead end up wiping out the same amount of luke warm water at the end that you started with that really did nothing to help clean anything. This will be my last Frigidaire brand oven.

    Frigidaire is terrible. My oven broke Nov 5th 2021. I called it in immediately due to upcoming holidays. they sent out a repair team 4 times and replaced every part in the oven. it is now July 28th, 2022, over 8 months. I was told should I take it to court I would lose out of blue while talking to a rep about this. what? court? I just want my oven fixed or replaced. I have the 5 yr extended warranty and the oven broke within the first year. I contacted the BBB and still got nothing. Today I can't even get a rep on the phone "due to an unusually high volume of calls." Do not buy an Electrolux (Frigidaire) product! They do not care about you once you've laid down over two grand for a double wall oven and another couple hundred on the extended warranty.

    We also found that the “steam clean” doesn’t do anything for our brand new Frigidaire Gallery range. When the cycle is complete there is no evidence of steam. The sides are warm, but dry. We have to soak up all of the water from the bottom and it didn’t even seem to be very warm.

      Hi, Bob! Unlike the self-clean cycle, the steam cycle doesn't require a wait time before the door unlocks. It will be important to stand to the side of the oven so that you are not in the path of escaping vapor. We hope this information helps you. - Damon

      Garbage BS. Don't waste your money with this option. Or for that matter any Frigidaire stove. Glass cooktop scratches too easily and is also impossible to properly clean

    • @lyndap6595
      @lyndap6595 Před 2 lety +10

      @@henrywillis1367 Disagree. There is glass cooktop polish you can buy. It may take a bit of elbow grease, but one can get the cooktop pretty clean if not perfectly. Certainly better than disgusting iron grates. As far as scratching goes, as long as one is careful, this is not an issue. Still, I would rather have a few scratches than grates.
      Induction cooking is the way to go. The response time is far, far superior to gas and there are no combustion pollutants. I can heat a large pot of water for pasta in just a few minutes where it took about 15 with my old gas range.
      As always, chacun à son goût.

      Sorry to hear the Steam Clean didn't work for you! Please ensure you are only adding one cup of water to the oven bottom; while condensation around the oven is perfectly normal, there should not be enough water to leak out the door. Steam Clean is great for light messes and loosening baked-on debris so it can be more easily wiped away. If this feature is not your preference, manual cleaning and self cleaning are always available! :) ~Ashton
