Just a tad mushy there. I'd like to see that run at the beginning of January.
Yes, the snow was good up top but quite awful lower down...
I hate to say good things about american ski resorts, but the one perk we have is that you tend to have good snow all the way to the bottom
That's a nice perk but then, on the other side, they don't go low enough. ;-)
That probably applies mainly to the Rockies only. I went to Colorado this season and was pleasantly surprised that Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek are all at altitude higher than Val Thorens. Great snow all around!
I depends. I've done 6 resorts this winter and have encountered soft snow at low elevations only in Soelden (understandable given it's April) and Wegen (mid-February!) which was bit of a shock. Les Deux Alpes, Maeyrhofen, Alpe d'Huez and 3 Valles were all perfect with plenty of snow.
@@lawyh1506 nope not really. even in the ice coast (northeast US) where we get the most rain during the winter, the snow is consistent at all elevations.
Guy in the orange pants 4 mins in, what type of skiing is that?
It's called telemark skiing...
Were the glaciers open that day? I was in Zermatt on 29 March and nearly everything was closed (and the Easter weekend too), very annoying
It was closed. My luck this season when visiting many resorts, the route to Cervinia was closed when I visited Zermatt and the Tunnel in Alpe d'Heuz. Also both glaciers in Paradiski... so I suppose all are on my list for next season...
I was in Solden 4-6 April. The routes to village were closed due to lack of snow cover but on the two glaciers the conditions were ideal and I've done some runs on the FIS track where I was nearly alone doing SG turns at around 80-85kmph. Incredible...
@@martindindos9009 nice, Sölden glacier next season for me...
🌞❄️⛷️🛷👏😀
🙏
is the snow getting worse every year becaause of climate change or is it differant
also im going to val d'iere in france was it good when u went. im going in january next year
I find the seasons mixed. There are good periods and no so good. I have found there are usually warm spells in February, but January tends to be good regarding snow, although the sun is lower. I think you'll do fine in Val d'Isere, it's a great resort...
@@ChasingSnowyea ok thanks
When you are using the video mode on your GoPro take it off auto-focus.
I didn't realise there's an auto focus... I've never noticed...
@@ChasingSnow I'm sorry. my mistake \. Just looked at it again. great video!
