The holidays are upon us and that means it's time to watch Adam Sandler's "movie"" Eight Crazy Nights once again. Man oh man is it bad. Not only does it not hold up in the slightest bit, it shows how lazy/racist/terrible Adam Sandler has always been.

He hasn't always been terrible, but he's had terrible movies his entire career. His first movie he ever starred in, Going Overboard, is fucking awful.
I host a podcast about his movies called The Adam Sandcast where I watched all of his films last year. It was a ridiculous journey but in the end, I feel like he still has a chance to make a good movie someday. If he wants to.

Yeah as a huge Sandler fan I have to agree,going overboard was cringe as fuck.
However he does have more good movies than poeple give him credit for (little Nicky being one of my favorite comedies)

You're underrated
I don't really have a problem with offensive jokes, so I disagree with the idea they shouldn't be included, but these jokes are mostly lazy (and bad) - they're not much as jokes as they are portraits of stereotypes.

Jokes in 2002 were not politically correct so seeing this movie 10+ years later, of course the jokes are taken differently cause pc culture changed comedy

"adam couldve killed the old guy when he pushed him down the mountain" yeah, theres a reason thats animated lol, cartoon violence. what im seeing here in this video is the equivelant of watching an episode of roadrunner and getting upset at the amount of violence and near death situations wile puts himself in, he couldve died!

This whole movie has a rather different "vibe" than you make it out to be. And, oh yeah, I don't think you really "get" Sandler...
The whole vibe of Sandler's movies have a great deal in common with various more boisterous elements I experienced in Junior High and High School, primarily. Elements I SHOULD loathe.
The funny thing is, because Adam doesn't direct his endless jabs at me, or anyone I know (at least who I have more respect, etc. for)-his jabs at celebrities are more like "roasts" rather than straight up mockery and ridicule, and keeps his jabs in the realm of the semi-absurd, the character/personality jabs, plus cultural sorts of things, yes, yes, they go down much easier. And the stupidity level makes them more humorously juvenile, etc. In other words, the way we WANTED jokes to be when we were kids or teens, but rarely actually were, again, if we are looking mainly at more boisterous/irreverent, etc. humor.
Sandler is fine. Seriously man... 🤷♂️

Eight Crazy Nights is not a classic animated christmas movie. It's a merciless parody of a classic animated christmas movie, and it's clear since the beginning. It even makes fun of the politically correctness by putting Christnukkah and Hannumas together.

I agree it isn't fair Adam Sandler gets to get away with blatant racism and what makes it worse is his "crew" of other "comedians" are often taking part in it. I'd argue that young children are typically targeted by his sense of humor and this is essentially telling the younger audience it is okay to do these things that always leave me in awe as to how this got through the entire production team with no one interfering. I haven't seen the animated film but the scenes you showed displaying the old man's seizures were very disturbing with no comical value whatsoever. I remember actually seeing Jack & Jill and then at the end of the movie realizing it was actually an advertisement for a drink at Dunkin Donuts, the whole movie.

I usually like your videos quite a bit but this just seems like Oppression Olympics to me. Being offended is a choice. It's comedy for crying out loud. This is why comedians won't go to universities anymore.
+JimmyDThing man oh man, it seems a lot of people don't understand the difference between real racism and making a few racist jokes. I love humor and I love Seinfeld(one of the few who won't go to campuses anymore) and I completely understand why he won't go. Seinfeld isn't being straight up offensive to someone for being transgender. He might make fun of someone whos transgender but itd be about some real personality trait, not just how people look.
Clearly analyzing comedy isn' subjective, don't imagine doing too many more .
while i agree with the cash grab second part of your movie i really disagree with the first half. yeah you can argue that a lot of people use racism and sexism and offensive jokes as a crutch and many things but saying its bad because its offensive or making light of serious even life threatening situations is just poor argumentation. its a privately made comedy he can make it however he wants and has that right for it to be offensive. i agree its a poorly made stereotypical adam sandler comedy and cash grab but the whole omg making of the elderly and trans doesn't really fit in to it. still like and support your videos though. look forward to the next one.

So It Goes I think alot of reviewers avoid comedies because there's only so many ways you can say it's not funny and it's very subjective

The best comedy routines have a target or people it is meant to try make laugh. So far according to you we cant make fun of old people, anyone that isnt white westerners, other cultures. By making this criteria your making certain groups off limits for jokes but others ok.

i too find adam sandler incredibly annoying and unfunny. i especially hate how a common theme in his movies are that the 80s were so cool, and that his childhood is way better than everyone else’s and everyone should be more like him. grown ups and pixels are full of those two cliches
