Movies, games, and the occasional editorial.
From A-Z list films, video games, and other overlooked goodness.
Not watching a brand new GoodBadFlicks? That's a technical foul!
Stuff like Amy Pasquale's involvement and the director being too nervous to ask for rewrites makes the final product make a whole lot more sense...
Audiences usually hate on Davey when they don't realize that most of the town isn't that much better than him.
It's probably for the best that that Rob Schneider film never came together. He's the kind of actor that's only funny in small snippets sharing the screen with an actor who's actually funny.
It's 2023 and I still want traditional hand drawn 2D animation movies. Sure, they take longer than CGI, but hand drawn is just so magical. It's the same as stop motion. It's just different and more magical than CGI
The irony of an Adam Sandler movie not getting money for product placements.
This is the reason I love your "Exploring Series." They allow the audience to see things in a whole different light. I never really appreciated Eight Crazy Nights until now. Again, great job.
Man, I remember thinking Mummies Alive looked way too good for such a weird show.
I have a weird fascination with this film (even though I actually refuse to watch it- just not my taste). I’ve watched so many take-down videos and dissections of it, but it’s nice to hear the actual story behind it. Everything makes sense with the rushed schedules, a first time director, and such a very short production timeline for an animated film. Thank you!
Love or hate his movies. I’ve never heard anyone who works with Sandler say something bad about him. He’s just a genuinely good person which you can’t say about a lot of 90s comedy stars.
It is impossible to learn anything about animation production
It would be great to see you tackle more animated films on your “exploring film” videos. Here are some suggested ideas for future videos
Eight Crazy Nights is currently free to watch on CZcams right now for anyone interested
I know these "Exploring ..." videos take a LOT of time to put together, and I absolutely LOVE them. Thanks for another very interesting episode, Cecil!
I love this movie and saw it expecting a G rated snooze fest, but it kicked so much ass, they guy eating his jock strap the perverted raindeers and the song at the end, good stuff. Great job with video too.
i still can't wrap my head around Disney's obsession with making live action remakes of their 2D movies. with the success of their 3D productions, it makes more sense to remake them in 3D.
Haven't heard of this film like ever, and that's insane since it was a film featuring Adam Sandler. The handrawn animation reminded me a lot to "The Iron Giant" with a more adult tone, and thanks for mentioning "Treasure Planet" and "Titan A.E." those films alongside "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", some serious gems of 2D animation.
The way Adam Sandler runs his projects is wholesome
This movie may be flawed but it's clearly got a lot of heart put into it and the production story really shows that.
Vaguely remember this movie. Can’t say I’ve ever seen it from start to finish…but after watching this, I’ll add it to my holiday rotation
