- Hi guys, today I'm walking you through the Frost Death Knight Rotation in 10.2, aimed at you guys who are picking up the spec for the first time. I'll cover resources, core rotation, cooldowns, openers, cleave and Mythic+ in an easily digestible way.

Thanks for the content you make. As a breath enjoyer, I seem to be getting not the best uptime with mythic plus builds for breath currently. What sort of duration are you getting for breath on single target (bosses for example) with the mythic plus breath build, no horn or double rune weapon. Cheers!
I was so confused until I saw this and your unholy guides. Thank-you for taking the time to make these videos! Us baby DKs thank-you! Dragonflight has strange rotations. For example, the fact that we aren't really focusing howling blast and dnd as AOE is so weird... I almost switched to another class haha. Anyway, thanks again!
Thanks for great video - I love your content! My objective is to Raid/M+ as frost and achieve AOTC and KSM. What gearing strategy would you recommend early into 10.2 when it comes to weapons? Does it make sense to craft high ilvl 2H first and use it initially for Obliteration build as well as BoS until I find and upgrade 2x1H? Do you think Legendary weapon will be BiS for BoS builds?
Only crafted weapon would be 1H but I'd start with embellishments!

Awesome video btw. At 13:42 no4 on the opener routine you have 4 abilities all at once. I’ve seen your guide and you macro these. I am guessing you’ve a totally separate keybind for this macro?
Yupp, I use a specific macro for my opener
Great guide! Do you think we will be able to loot the legendary axe as frost spec or will we need to switch to unholy loot?
I'd expect you to be able to loot in frost spec, no way of knowing though

Hi! learning frost dk and i managed to do the legion mage tower witha build. but in m+ its different if you send Chill Streak OUTSIDE of Bonegrinder or if you hold it until you proc it. :)

Hello Mr pump or anyone for that matter, My ''WA'' (the 2 frost/ice indicators on the side) doesnt show the second charge of the killing machine proc like urs do. Got any sugestions on what i can do?

Hi Bicep, im struggling to get very long breaths, Im currently sitting at around 26 percent crit and the only thing i can see is that you are sitting higher crit and therefore getting more killing machines hence more runes. Is there a crit level thats needed for the uptime? cheers for your content.
Crit Def correlates with higher uptime but you likely aren't using your resource CDs quite right, hard to say
I noticed on your outline on wowhead for obliterate build you mention 25% haste being the second cap (additional globals within pillar window) but in this video your wa shows 44% at times. Is this just because you’re in gear optimized for unholy, or bugged? Or proc haste from something?
Also obliterate I noticed you never drop death and decay, does that change when multiple targets are involved?

Ngl it feel it's awkward pressing death and decay to make obliterate cleave. Cleaving strikes should just be in general rather than inside death and decay tbh.
Agree, I ideally want to see scythe being the cleave ability for frost, maybe even making it cost 2 Runes to simply replace Oblit in AoE scenarios
Remorseless winter should apply cleaving strikes for frost.
You should make a macro that will make death and decay drop right on you feet with out right clicking where you want it to be. Also you can keybind that macro your piller of frost to pump. Thank me later 😊
@shinigami1726 I have a macro that drops death and decay wherever I'm standing and mouse macro. It still feels awkward nonetheless. Maybe it's because it's apart of the GCD and it doesn't feel like a smooth transition? Playing arms warrior gives me the same feeling with sweeping strikes. Since it's on the gcd it doesn't feel like a smooth transition to cleave. It's mainly about fluidity of the spec. Its why ret is fun, it feels fluid, and you do big damage. Frost has it worse since you need to be inside death and decay, which is very limiting if your tank decides to kite the whole dungeon.
Ye I got so many problems with the right point to put dearh and decay... and when I time it good the tank pulled it out... I also tryed hekili to See how a "okay" Rotation is but that program dont Use death and decay xD
I do blood but i tried unholy randomly assigning skills and i hit 1k more at 62 than with blood. Frost I havent tried. My main concern is survivability but i'm guessing they both have heals other than death strike
When do you use D&D for aoe groups? Is it during Pilar of Frost window (at the end for example, before Frostwyrm Fury), then the second charge right after the PoF window, to have the first charge ready for the next window? Or how do you use it? When shall I skip using D&D? Thanks ;D
Use DnD third GCD inside of pillar, gives you max overlap
How do you feel about BoS in M+, especially now that we’re getting s2 tier set? I hate having to use two wildly different builds for raid and M+ and frost and unholy both have this problem
Dont see it as good sadly. Its just tuned around 100% breath uptime
@@Bicepspump True, I wanted to avoid getting the legendary but it seems obliteration is the one for me
once we get tier set would it be good to put 1 point in enduring chill or is taking chill streak fine by itself

Question about raid build and Breath. What would the rotation be while Breath is active?
Focus on obliterate and rime to generate as much runic power as possible

wow thanks for the video, frost seems better than unholy for 10.2 or both specs have nerfed?
Without PI Unholy definitely loses alot of power, probably why unholy is getting another round of buffs next week. So its going from terrible to just bad, I guess we'll see as we gear up more. Frost is being forced into a dead talent, it might be good for single target, but it's not as good as season 2 mythic wise, it also seems like they will be having you de sync cool downs. Seems like borrowed power again.

Yes, that's what we use for breath of sindragosa builds. Generally best choice in raid

I'm Blood DK main but I cannot always get the Tank spot for raids, which DPS do yo recommend to use, Unholy or Frost?

A bit of feedback:
Seeing how this is a beginner guide, sometimes the speed of your speech + your (elegant and dashing) accent makes it hard to understand what ability you are talking about. It's not a language barrier issue, more so one of pronunciation.
I went and leveled frost dk for a few levels and, after I familiarized myself with the names of the abilities, I was able to understand much more easily what you are talking about.
This was not a big issue for me, but maybe someone who is not that great at understanding natural-speed spoken English and/or Frost dk abilities might not subscribe to your channel and that would be a shame.

seems kind of backwards that obliterate is the aoe build and breath is the single target build
The ability use tracker on the left, is that an addon or a weak aura? I've tried TGCD and I dont like that it continuously tracks abom limb ticks and pet ticks etc. I suppose I could black list them, but it looks like a weak aura here?

Do you tend to use DnD outside of PoF in M+?
Yes, you use a secondary charge right after pillars that have CDs used with them
How do you get the second charge animation for Obliterate?
It's a Weakaura. I've got one in my twitch sub pack, or there are others available on wago.io
I'm still not a fan of tier sets being reliant on specific talents.
If killing machine is generated by auto attack crits, how does Glacial Advance/FStrike/Howling Blast/Soul Reaper generate them?
The obliteration talent makes those abilities generate KM during pillar

So Frost is viable in Raid and more so M+, but does Unholy take the cake still? Is the gap that wide between the two? #MakeFrostGreatAgain
At this point in RWF Amirdrassil in the top 10 teams so far, Blood DK is mostly picked as tank and for some bosses some guilds went with Frost DK. Not a single team went Unholy DK. This tells us something at least.
When you say "spend your killing machine" that just means use obliterate right?

obliterate is the 2h build, breath is the 1h build.
Is frost dk not with 2 1hand weapons?
Depends on build, Breath uses 1 handers, Oblit uses 2H

Frost Dk is ruined changing a class so much and making it not be able to use other abilities with tier set is annoying

Are you using DnD stacks only at pillar windows or anytime when it is up?
I always make sure I have it for pillar, use it in-between when I can afford to use a charge
