    This was an excellent 30-day challenge. Although I saw all the videos, I was not able to practice everything due to my work. I plan to go through all of this again this spring when I have more light in the evening. Thank you for doing this.

      Awesome! Thanks so much for joining in - and definitely come back to this series whenever you have the time. I'll be doing more indepth videos all year, too, so if there's a specific skill you need more detail on, let me know!

    Thank you so much for making this Video series.
    Although I could already do some of the stuff like bunnyhops and manuals, I learned a lot of new skills, like sidehops, lifting the front wheel with pedal pressure and improved my overall balance on the Bike.
    The challenge really motivated me to ride every day for 28 Days now, even in the Dark the most times, and it was often the highlight of my day, improving on my bike after long days of school.
    I really appreciate the effort you put in to make this series and it would be cool to see some similar smaller series in the future, like 5 Days to backhop, where you break down a harder skill every day.

    Thank you for putting this 30-Day Challenge together! It definitely built as it went and was accessible for intermediate riders like me. It was useful to work through skills I don't practice frequently to see what I need to work on. Here's to more practice and progress in 2024!

      Did today's challenge and noticed my length was limited by not getting the front wheel high enough. A more forceful weight transfer and allowing the arms to straighten completely got me to the balance point. This was a little scary so rather than focus on distance, I just repeated manual lifts to the balance point and braking to bring the front wheel back down. This has inspired me to work on manuals again! Thank you!

    Think I already hit the ceiling of my manual skills at 0.41 seconds. I'll go faster and try for 0.411, who knows, maybe a favorably timed gust of wind will get me to 0.412.

    • @bermchasin
      @bermchasin Před 5 měsíci +4

      dont measure in terms of time, measure distance. Heres why - 0.41 seconds at 5mph is only 3 feet... Buuuuutt. if you can go even just 20 mph you are already up to 12 feet. And if you get a hard gear on your bike, and get to 200... thats over 100 feet. At 90% the speed of light, you are going almost 69,000 MILES!!! Dont try to get longer, just go faster!
      *warning: not a coach.

    Thank you for putting all that together. Plenty of home work for me. I have been practicing trials moves to improve my mtb and as a way to ride with the limited time i have with kids to look after. Really enjoyed and learning from your channel. Happy New Year.

    Just finished the challenge! I am a ride leader for a high school XC racing team. I can keep up, but most of the kids also have amazing skills from BMX or enduro backgrounds, and are obviously having more fun on the trail. That has inspired me to pick up a used San Quentin and work on my bike skills. I started a bit late, had to take off a week here or there, but I worked on each challenge. It was helpful to see what my strengths and weakness were. Going backwards is really hard! But I am able to do things like front wheel pivots now that I never even thought of doing before.
    What I really appreciate is how this challenge provides a road map to getting better bike skills. I can't say I am a completely different rider, but I saw how practice made progress for me. The way forward is to just have fun working on this stuff and even more fun when it shows up on the trail. Thanks so much, Aaron, for putting in all of the time to create this. It has been really impactful.

    Have to start working on shifting my weight a bit, I think, to keep manuals going longer. So far my manuals are about 20 feet max. just using the brake while sitting quite still. Again, great series!

    I'm pretty good at manuals, my longest is about
    350-400 feet. I can do them going slow and super fast but I struggle when it comes to having very little room to set up for one. Do you have any tips?

    • @SuperRiderTV
      @SuperRiderTV  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That's legit! One thing that I do to ramp up a little extra momentum is lift up my back wheel first, and then roll to the manual from there. You can create just a little extra momentum that way, although it takes a little practice to carry it through.
