I wonder how many lives have been saved and unnecessary injuries avoided thanks to the rigorous testing done by the IIHS. Thanks for the video!
Great review as always up to the points 👍🙏
Big help review 👏👏
Love how the title card shows a car that actually did perfect in that crash test. Thanks for showing us some of the most dangerous cars, definitely helps us make safe purchases!👍
when you think about it you know that some cars in 2006 got a good and a best pick
Great work man.
Could you please do a video for new driver's and first time car buyers? I will be looking for my first car and would like to know what cars and SUV's would be good choices? And also if it's better to buy a new car or a used car? I am not sure where to look! 😊
Thanks...
Will you explain 🤔 lights performance
Video about lights safety
Great video! All the garbage makes and models collected here 😂
Not many surprises here. Subaru certainly disappointed. I would've thought they would've anticipated the test changes. Going to check and see how the new Prius came out. It's my most probable next purchase.
I love your excellent videos. What is headlight performance regarding the safety of a car?
Thank you. It’s frightening to see how these cars crumple like aluminum foil in the crash tests.
One of the problems with crash test videos is they do not explain that the engineers are measuring the crash energy going to the driver and passengers, and the crumple zones absorb the energy. For a front collision, the engine slides under the firewall instead of bending the firewall into the people. A 60s car did not look as damaged after a crash, but the people were more likely dead or severely injured.
Thank you for that info
Thinking about purchasing a 2024 pathfinder, any information would be appreciated.
Subaru Crosstrec received a poor score because they change test conditions. The NHTSA guy clearly says it. He also says that it doesn't mean that SUV is unsafe.
I really like Shari.
Need información onnCaptiva Chevrolet pleae
I don’t think that being an older car design is an excuse for bad crash safety. Car manufacturers have put cost cutting ahead of safety for decades - in my opinion.
Stellantis and GM always winning the awards for all the wrong reasons 😂
Thanks for this report. Some surprisingly poor scores from the likes of Subaru and others. Safety features like crash protection are top priority today, and buyers should insist on better products. Buy certified used if necessary, to get an affordable, safe vehicle. Most of the cars featured here were no surprise, of course.
The Encore was redesigned in '21 and changed to the GX. A bigger model.
It would probably be cheaper to just upgrade the test dummies' so they can handle the impacts better. Maybe just have them ride more to the middle of the car of if they are testing a frontal impact have them all ride in the back seat.
Or they could include you with the dummies
More restrictions so prices get higher.
BRAVO!! No real surprises there. Except for Toyota, all were brands I'd never consider owning at all....period. I've always ignored gov't. testing as well. If IIHS testing for a model isn't available, I won't consider that either. I've seen a fair number of people after crashes and it isn't a pretty sight. ANYTHING you can do to avoid them or to make them more survivable is effort well spent.
I didn't expect subaru the crosstrek gets good ratings usually
This could be a 5 secs video, you just had to say "no car passed the safety tests"
What’s your take on Mazda CX 60 vs rivals
CX60 isn’t sold here in North America. The CX70 is suppose to be a bigger version of the CX60
Some worst cars don't have airbags 😡
Why not create and pass crash safety standards to manufacturers beforehand? None of those tests represents real world data (weight and speed ) and if they do, probably every vehicle will fail.
I do agree this is best way to how existing vehicles compares and very informative. Thanks for the great work!!
This is so cars cannot be affordable for the average person. Just add more restrictions by government.
But if reliable forget the fake safety test
Toyota 4Runner runs forever despite fake tests show.
There is some cars that I remember that wind the top safety pick award of the iihs:
Small sedans
Honda civic Corolla that is some of the small sedans that I remember
Big sedans Toyota Camry Honda accord and maybe a Subaru idk
Luxury cars I don’t remember
Small suvs Honda hr v and maybe the Mazda cx-30 or Toyota corolla cross or smth
For midsize suv there has been 2 suvs who has the safety award not the top one ok here is the 2
The ford explorer and Mazda cx 9 and yeah that is all of them I can know
A suggestion…you might already have such, but I’d like to know which are the very best crash survivors.
You can see that in the description box when this video first comes on in the upper right corner of this video. Just press on it and it’ll take you right to it
💯
That Tacoma design goes back to 2016, not 2015.
Hey Shari, just found out your dad is friends and a neighbor of my brother Roman and Roxolana. (Baby Point)
Small world.😊
No way! Yes Roman and my dad are good friends. Two Ukrainian history scholars. Small world indeed!

No creo que Rusia deje algo de Ucrania. Con todo contra el nazismo!
Surprised that mitsu and Subaru are included
It's a new test, they need time to update, they're still safe cars, just drive responsively.
Whats the most unsafe car? Any one that my sister is driving!
You see a lot of American brand vehicles. 🤔
Jeeps in general don't seem to perform very well. Even the Wrangler was rated as one of the worst vehicles in the IIHS / NHSTA tests. I think of the Jeep brand, the Cherokee may be the safest option if you must get a Jeep but most of them did not do too well in general.
Regarding the new testing implemented few years ago (I think maybe 2021/2022) for both moderate overlap and side-impact, many vehicles made prior to the updated tests got reduced scores. NOw this doesn't make the cars worse necessarily, but more so that you need to pay attention to newer models and see if they get worse or the same ratings with the new tests. The new moderate overalp test is a bit more aggressive I guess now that they add a rear passenger to the equation. For example the Toyota Camry for 2020 got a Top SAfety Pick, even though it doesn't do so well in the new moderate overlap test but mainly because the original test didn't test the rear seat occupants. But even the NHSTA says that even if a car recieves a marginal score or poor score in one area, it doesn't necessarily mean you are going to die either, it just means it won't protect you as well as a car that gets an Average or Good rating, but that it may still be an overall, safe, vehicle on the whole.
I would disagree a little though about an older model vs. newer model. IN many cases, they do improve over time, however there have been some cases where a generation that's been in production for sevearl years, got a better score, than a newer version that was just released, because if you buy a "late model" of the same generation the company likely has made minor improvements to the structure and safety features over the years, so just because something is newer doesn't necesarily mean it's better than a later model year car from the previous generation. The Ford Taurus is a good example of this. In 1993 I think they redid some of the structure and the 1995 TAurus was deemed a very safe vehicle at the time. I think the 1996 Taurus either scored the same or slightly worse because it was a new body style and design.
The only difference between the Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500L is the body.
Now that Jeep is owned by Fiat we can expect poor quality and reliability
It's a crapshoot buying A to Z
You forgot the Bronco... terrible.
Cool video, voice cadence is unbearable
Not gonna lie, the Palisade caught me off guard tbh.
it's a hyundai...lol
Own it, and you painfully feel. I just got rid of my 2017 Tucson LTD. Poor performance, expensive maintenance, cheap material, unreliable engine + transmission issues.
@@silvervuong4135Did you buy a Kia next?
@moeanthony9308 Hell no. Hyundai and Kia plus Genesis are same shit. All Korean stuffs are unreliable. If you want go ahead make purchase and you will feel pain in your ass at least after 30k miles I did suffer.
Where are the best test results
So the Impreza isn’t Impressive, lol
Domestic always the worst
Ya cuz Korean cars are so amazing 😂😂😂
the the best long term and cheap
Not surprised with Palisade at all. Typical overhyped Hyundai trash
Lol.
