    Man talk about snowball, start off as an AFM delete using a mild cam not requiring a converter but still ended up putting one in which should now need a bigger cam but stuck with the mild cam 👀

    I have to agree. Lots of $$$ and labor for 319hp. My 15 Silverado 5.3 makes 347 whp with just; full TSP 1 7/8 exhaust, L86 TB & Intake manifold swap and S&B COI, tuned on 89 pump. I could go for 93 to get a little bump too..

      Elevation tires and dyno variables will effect HP and torque numbers that's why you shouldn't compare yours to others just the gain on the same dyno

      They sure didn’t gain much for all of the work they did and money they spent! I’ve heard a lot of bad things about Texas Speed

      They did it to delete the cylinder deactivation! Lol, The only reason they put the heads on was one factory head was cracked

    • @grand3lyfecuhh798
      @grand3lyfecuhh798 Před 4 měsíci +2

      They didn’t do it just for the HP the main problem was the DOD/AFM failed… part 1 you would see that. On top of that at a shop if this job cost you 3-5k while your in there it makes more sense to upgrade your cam with a good kit and gain power not just slap OEM in there…

  • @NollEngineeringPerformance

    What’s this thing on for fuel? I’ve tuned several dozen cam only l83 trucks, most with your stage 1 or 2 truck cams, or a similar grind from BTR. They all make wayyyyy more than 320. Am I too aggressive on ignition and soi or are you guys just on 87 and being conservative here?

    Suggest getting the updated trans t- stat from G.m.......187 degrees not towing is to much. I d like to see the dyno curve. Id love to see a "torque" cam setup for real world camper pulling ect....everyone loves cam chop but that cam should be setup for torque. Lets see it???

    FBO and FJB 6 : 40 with the new y pipe cross over UNDER the transmission, that extra heat would mean you need an additional transmission oil cooler radiator or a bigger one or both? boiling tranny oil is going to lead to alot of cavitation. my 2013 same truck type gen4 lc9 at 123k was alot cleaner and better shape than this gen 5 at 80k and i pull 16' trailers with dirt rock and light power equipment enough. who ever owns that truck must get on it alot ? tell him to throw a quart of ATF F type every 60k in that motor for the last 1,000 miles before it's due to it's 3k oil change, clean up that dirty girl from the inside.

  • @lowebody
    @lowebody Před 6 měsíci

    I'm shocked at the final numbers, very little for that much work. Why not swap out the manifold and throttle body while its all torn apart. They said nothing about the thin walled aluminum driveshaft that I doubt can handle any higher numbers. Most won't do a dyno with the stock driveshaft due to its ability to fail.

    No wonder they ended the video abruptly…that was kinda embarrassing numbers. All that work…how many guys, how many hrs and how many days…2+ weeks…new heads (full exhaust), headers and stg 1 cam..for what (remember there was a non related power issues (these are normally what 285hp-300hp+ to the wheels) with the first numbers) so in reality, what…30-40hp gain to the wheels 🤔 that’s a hellofa lot of 💰💰💰💰for that kinda of gains.
    Also…what is not mentioned…even with that lil’ extra power…the diff is weak…best of days…will need to be addressed imho…sooner rather than later. There’s gotta be a better way 🤔

    Nobody knows more than the people at GM who design and build the engines. After all that wasted time and parts ,45 horsepower ? My stock 6.2 with a good GM air box and the speed limiter removed will destroy that build. With 10 forward gears I don't know the top end cause I let of at 135mph. '23 Trail Boss.Good luck.💀
