    Just found your channel and found it very informative. I have a 2019.5 silverado RST 5.3L 4x4 with 2" leveling kit, wide stance, and more less a wind tunnel disaster. I have been looking for a tow setup video. Last yr we pulled a 4500lb camper through the hills and several times I found that I was running 4800 rpm's (normal is 1900 @ 70mph empty) for an extended time. This truck is my daily driver so I don't need anything radical but a little more low end power would be fun. Hoping to find a DIY setup. Thanks, if you have a chance to make us truck owners a tow/haul improvement video.

    Now I'm tempted to pull the turbo L59 (gen 3.5 5.3) out of my fox and put one of these in. I need to drop weight off of the nose since I find myself using it for autocross. Similar power, lighter weight, less heat. I've heard something about the Gen V 5.3 cranks not being machined for a pilot bushing or something. I'd need to solve that issue before I commit. I'm on Holley Terminator X so I'd just need to upgrade to the new model that runs the Gen V.

    How much power were you getting from varying the cam with the BTR cam? Was this all stock ECU tuning? This would be really attractive with a Holley. Supposedly those blocks are really tough, going to be VERY interested to see this run forced induction. Something with port injection on top of stockish sized DI maybe? These are DI right? Did you try changing phase of the injection at all? I believe on the DI it can be worth more than on a port injected LS? Also, REALLY enjoyed your chat with Sloppy - it was an awesome podcast!

    Hi Richard, My name is Shreyvon and I have a technical question for you Sir. I’ve got a mild L83 build going and I was hoping to get your opinion on possible end result power gains. So far I’ve got a LT1 camshaft, LS3 lifters and trays to get rid of DOD/AFM, LT2 intake manifold and throttle body, LT4 injectors & pump, remote water pump hookups, and other supporting mods. My serpentine belt is only turning the alternator and that’s it. I’ve got an electric motor for the power steering and like I said before hookups for an electric water pump. My plan is to run E85 and drop this engine into 2,700lbs T56 car that I have waiting for it.

      It’s not expensive.. if you want to make the power these engines make you would have to spend more on the older engines. End of day they are cheaper. You can get a 385 hp 6.0 for $1900 and slap it on a car and call it a day. For you to get 385 hp from a sbc 350 you’re looking at $500 for the block $2000 for a good set of heads. $800 for the complete cam kit and $400 for an intake. You ended up paying more to make same power with sbc.

    • @madmod
      @madmod Před 3 lety

      @@Miguelspl150 Not always true. I can source complete small blocks for much cheaper than that price but at the same time, I can source a 6.0 for about the same price. You cant get a 6.0 running in a car nearly as cheap as a carbed, mechanical pumped sbc. The cost of computer components, ignition, and tuning makes for less than an affordable swap. SEX-E. Almost 100hp/L. I'm interested to see how you add more fuel for FI considering it's DI. That stuff is EXPENSIVE. On the Taurus SHO, a larger set of DI injectors and a DI pump will cost you upwards of $1,500. And that's with only 6 cylinders. At least with the newer dual-mode Ecoboost engines, you can add more fuel with the port injectors.

    • @andrewbrister7200
      @andrewbrister7200 Před rokem

      For us with di, fueling can be expensive. Our next step with out going aftermarket brand is lt4 hpfp and lt4 injectors. Which is 2-3k the. There is lingenfelter big bore pump if I remember correctly pump alone was 4K or we can add port fuel like ford 5.0 for about 4K but it can be hell to tune in. But our stock fuel system which is the same as the 6.2 can handle 500-600 depending on tuner..an pump or e-85
