Lovely -- heavenly? -- music as you say NE; the lyrics, the song's sentiments, are just as beautiful. Also, this song was so very relevant to society when written and it's equally relevant today, perhaps more so. Pink Floyd is the thinking person's band. PF's songs and albums could very well serve as the basis for a college course in philosophy, sociology, psychology.

I've been watching a few of your PF reactions and I think you have truly been Floyded my friend! You have excellent taste as IMO, there is no better band! I'm a long time Floydian, 50+ years, and I've seen them and many other legends over the years. Pink Floyd could never be beat! The amount of talent on that stage was insane! I even took my children to the Pulse concert knowing it would be their last tour and even though they were a little young, 12 and 14, it was now or never. And now, 30 years later, they can still tell you everything about the concert! I even have a 2 yr.old great grandson that loves SOYCD, lol. So keep on rockin and I've joined just to watch you keep going down the PF rabbit hole, which is deep and amazing!
I have been lucky enough to see Pink Floyd live 4 times in my life.
On July 6, 1977, I saw the "In the Flesh" tour.
On May 11, 1988, I saw the "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour.
On May 23 and 24, 1994, I saw "The Division Bell" tour two nights in a row.
And yet you missed Pulse which was the only one I managed to see, greatest ever except they didn't play this track which is my fave PF. Just shows we never get everything.

David Gilmour is a genius musically. He just blows my mind with his musical compositions.
David Gilmour's voice and guitar never sounded better. And the song and its meaning is pretty cool too. Saw this tour in Chicago 1987. Had to go, figured it might be the last time I'd ever get the chance to see them. They had already been around over 20 years and were bona fide Legends.This was their first full out tour in the 80s and without their previous leader Roger Waters. The show was amazing! But with all the controversy surrounding them no one was quite sure if they had the resolve to keep going. Little did we know The Division Bell tour (Pulse) was just six years away and would break all concert attendance records around the world to that date. Went to that one too at Soldier Field in Chicago thinking for sure, with all of them now hovering around 50 yrs old (considered very old for rock stars at the time lol), that for sure this would be their last tour. Turned out to be right this time. 🥺
So this was before the Division Bell (Pulse) tour. I hadn't realised that. That explains the light show - there's an obvious resemblance, but the Pulse lightshow is like this one on acid.

I am 70 years old and was brought up in New York. I was a late teenager - early 20s back in the 1970s, when Pink Floyd was at the height of their prominence. I was privileged to see them 5 times, live at Madison Square Garden ! David Gilmour, the singer and guitarist is simply the best at all he does. No one comes close ! Thank you for reviewing this piece. It surely is a GREAT representation of Pink Floyd at their best. It brings a tear to my eye !

Filmed at Nassau Coliseum in 1988....well I can only say that as a witness who was actually there, a little stage right in the 22nd row, it was stunning to watch and to see David Gilmour play like that, yeah it was something to behold and also I can absolutely say without a shred of hesitation, nobody was missing Roger Waters.
After a few Pink Floyd tunes, I don’t think you can call yourself a Rap fan anymore. You’re a music fan. 😂 Although, that would be redundant because we are all music fans. I also laughed at your reaction of Machan Taylor’s wailing at 9:59 She gave some serious goosebumps.
