Its amazing this movie never got more attention than it did.....but after watching it, I can see why Media would ignore it..... ----------------------------------------------------------------- May 1968 Baby Bush is accepted into the National Guard for Pilot Training Oddly, Pilots were abundant back then, and there was no waiting list, because of the Vietnam War so why hire Baby Bush as a Pilot when USA had lots of them to spare. Second, why would the Government spent One Million Dollars teaching someone how to fly when you have lots of Pilots from Vietnam? Maybe because Baby Bush didn't want to go to Vietnam? Bush checked "NO" in the box to go overseas..... Next.....Baby Bush signs on for a 6 year commitment to the National Guard, they don't have to go into Vietnam war. Baby Bush does his pilot training in Moody, then assigned to 111 intercept squadron in Houston. But....in the spring of 1972....Baby Bush gets suspended for missing a physical. (Can't even show up for a physical?) How does a person go from a Top notch pilot to missing a routine physical? Did Baby Bush have a Cocaine problem? (yes he did). Baby Bush asks for a reassignment, and he is granted, so goes to Alabama where he helps a friend on a Senate Campaign. Wait so.....Baby Bush disobeys a Military order and now he's granted a reassignment?.......something ain't right...... For one year from May 1972 to May 1973 there is no points on Baby Bush's attendance records......ie.....he has gone AWOL from the National Guard for more than a Year. No one can place him there for that year. Not one person. President Bush's excuse was.....His Military records went missing.....but did they? This is the USA Military. Baby Bush then asks for an "Early discharge" from the Military....Quits 9 months early to go to Business School at Harvard..... wht??? People who were involved in proving all this refused to help 60 minutes (Dan Rather). Except one man......who had a copy of the original documents written and signed by Jerry Killian. Two documents that showed 1) Baby Bush did not do well in the National Guard school, he made no attempt to meet his training certification, much more serious than missing a physical 2) Baby Bush stated he left because National Guard no longer needed pilots, but document showed Baby Bush sucked as a pilot, his training was considered "critical." When the people who had proof all this happened (elderly couple) they were almost killed when someone tried to drive them off the road. This is why the man who gave them these document refused to give them the actual person who gave him the documents.

We should NOT have used them." I don't know what planet you live on but that says it all. You sound as ridiculous as Dan Rather himself, basically saying "Well, even though the documents were fake, even though the guy who gave them to us lied, even though the document experts told us they were likely fakes, even though the guy who supposedly wrote them had died 15 years earlier, even though the officer who supposedly was pressured to give Bush a pass completely denied that had been the case and even though we got in touch with Kerry's campaign as a favor, well, the story was true!! Yes, a great, new journalistic standard was born: Fake! But True! LOL.
It wasn't, that's what those in power made the public think. They did what they do best, manipulated the evidence, discredited people, and distracted us from the actual evidence with a story they were able to control :(
I feel like this premise is week. I feel like most politicians figured out a way to get out of service or service for their children. Or just anyone with money I guess. Maybe back in the 9/11 freshness period it meant more. Idk though.
One big FLOP. Only mad $5 mil. They took a bath on this one. Cate Blanchett was not the right person for this and neither was Redford, but it is amazing they got so much talent to come together anyway.
