  • Should you eat BREAKFAST? If so, what is the right time to eat? How much should you eat? Discussing the recommendation based on the circadian rhythm of hormones.
It is always better to skip dinner than skipping breakfast.

I lost 8 kgs with in 38 days now 87kgs.. within these days I followed intermittent fasting with Low carb diet 16:8 also no rice, had salads mostly for lunch and idly at 7 pm and no snacking in between. Also weight training in the morning for 5 time a week. This is all started because of a day realisation I had when went to family outing. I was unable to play not even for 30min as I felt back pain eventhougt I am 25 yrs old. That hit me hard and during this 38 days I am more active and could feel having more energy, even with less consumption.

Really This is wonderful I am following it ( skipping of night food)
It had done miracles in my body and mental health.
We should stop eating or drinking before 5 to 6 pm and we should sleep earlier it should not cross 9 to 10 pm
If necessary we can drin little water.
It helps me in waking up earlier by 4.30 to 5 am and no constipation issues after that.
In addition I do morning exercise and walking to .
Having all type of brown and red rice (high fiber ) in a soup format in an optimum quantity even pushes lunch time up to 2. 30 noon.

I am a classical dance practitioner age 42. I have been practicing intermittent fasting consistently since 2020 june. Since I return home to my family only at 9pm. And that is the only time i eat with my family. So I have dinner and skip my morning meal. I break my fast in the afternoon around 3pm with a good more or less substantial meal. Evening I am mostly not hungry. And dinner with family is usually vegetables and fish. Am a Bengali you see 😊.
I have had wonderful experience doing intermittent fasting. I wasn't overweight but little chubby. And my metabolism was slow. I found out that losing weight was only one aspect. I had much better energy levels, calmer mind and of course I do moot look 42. But it took 2 years to understand and realize. This is a life style change and I absolutely love it.
It's a wonderful thing that you are propagating this for the benefit of common people. I personally feel Indian doctors are still not open to it.

The key is to plan what ur snack would be and pack it in the AM. Coz at 1/2 pm when ure hungry u tend to go for the sugariest or greasiest item in ur pantry.

I used to skip breakfast for almost a year, was happy with the 17kg weight loss. A year later I contracted COvid post that started witnessing acute hairfall, from 0 to at least 100. I think skipping breakfast eroded the body's store of nutrients

You must never skip break-fast as it is the most important meal of the day. Besides, the glycogen stores are also almost diminished. You may skip dinner though.

I have black coffee with no sugar, but a teaspoon of cream after I wake up (630 am). Have read that black coffee doesn't spike one's insulin levels which is a huge culprit in fat burn. Have a direct brunch at around 1130 am and then an evening dinner at 530 - 630 pm. Have found this extremely helpful. I do have Apple cider vinegar with hot water and lime in the morning around 10. This helps with extending the fasting window. I have lost nearly 40 lbs in about a year. I do walk/exercise at least 45 minutes 4 days a week! Thank you for running this wonderful channel Dr.Pal!

I do intermittent fasting. 16 hours fasting. My brunch is at 12 and finish my dinner at 6pm. My body is under control now. So from evening 6 to next day 12 I don’t even bite a grain and drink anything except water. But you simple breakfast breaks the rules of intermittent fasting. I follow Dr.Berg’s videos and I am convinced his logical and scientific reasoning of long fasting. Hope you throw some light on this issue. And I thoroughly enjoyed your unconventional…funny…witty video.

I usually have my first meal around 12 noon but always feel hungry later in the evening after dinner. Thanks for the great content Dr. Pal. Quick question regarding the circadian rhythm, you mention melatonin secretion based on sunset and sunrise . Is this a frame of reference for time or does this actually follow sunset and sunrise timings. For e.g. here in the US, during the summer, we have long days (sunrise at 5:30 am and sunset at 8:04 09:00 pm) and the opposite during the winter. Does our food cycle follow these per time or per region?
