In our PG (paying guest) system, we get breakfast at 7:30 am and get dinner at 7:30 pm. It's really very synchronized for planning 12 hours fasting!
I lost 8 kgs with in 38 days now 87kgs.. within these days I followed intermittent fasting with Low carb diet 16:8 also no rice, had salads mostly for lunch and idly at 7 pm and no snacking in between. Also weight training in the morning for 5 time a week. This is all started because of a day realisation I had when went to family outing. I was unable to play not even for 30min as I felt back pain eventhougt I am 25 yrs old. That hit me hard and during this 38 days I am more active and could feel having more energy, even with less consumption.
Good for you you’re far too young not to enjoy good health be agile and enjoy your life
What did you have for breakfast?
Eating rice for lunch good or bad?
@@006aranganathan8 in morning you need quick burst of energy so Carbs are goodin mornings eat idly 😊
Just had a similar realization, starting today with major changes to my diet
1) eat breakfast- not heavy ( also don't skip it )
2) can have heavy lunch
3) very light dinner as early as possible ( skipping is the ideal case scenario )
Summary certified.
Nobody can skip breakfast... the first meal of the day is breaking the fast..hence breakfast😂
This is totally wrong breakfast should and can be very heavy lunch should be little bit less...and dinner none

Hello Dr. Pal
I'm a very big fan of your talks and videos. The way you bring in humor in between the serious subjects....really liked it. I'm also in my journey of weightloss. Very inspired by your videos. I have my morning coffee after 30 minutes of my wake up time. 1 hour later I have my breakfast. As of now I'm managing 12 :12 hour eating and fasting window.
I started my time restricted and calorie limited diet from 2nd of Feb, even though I had 1 week of irregular eating because of travel I lost 4 KGS. Thank you Doctor Pal, your videos boost me to get back into the diet. Keep cheering us.....

Really This is wonderful I am following it ( skipping of night food)
It had done miracles in my body and mental health.
We should stop eating or drinking before 5 to 6 pm and we should sleep earlier it should not cross 9 to 10 pm
If necessary we can drin little water.
It helps me in waking up earlier by 4.30 to 5 am and no constipation issues after that.
In addition I do morning exercise and walking to .
Having all type of brown and red rice (high fiber ) in a soup format in an optimum quantity even pushes lunch time up to 2. 30 noon.
Thanks Doc ..I followed your advice and easily lost 1.5 kg in a week ..I quit sugar ..did som hiit and followed 8 hrs eating window with last meal at 7pm ..and lost my weight effortlessly 😊

Hi dr. Pal. I have my breakfast after 3-4 hours once I woke up. Sometimes I just have one lunch a day around 2-3pm. I don’t know whether that’s good or bad but I lost 5 kgs in 3 months which feels good. Thanks to you for educating me on intermittent fasting.
I am a classical dance practitioner age 42. I have been practicing intermittent fasting consistently since 2020 june. Since I return home to my family only at 9pm. And that is the only time i eat with my family. So I have dinner and skip my morning meal. I break my fast in the afternoon around 3pm with a good more or less substantial meal. Evening I am mostly not hungry. And dinner with family is usually vegetables and fish. Am a Bengali you see 😊.
I have had wonderful experience doing intermittent fasting. I wasn't overweight but little chubby. And my metabolism was slow. I found out that losing weight was only one aspect. I had much better energy levels, calmer mind and of course I do moot look 42. But it took 2 years to understand and realize. This is a life style change and I absolutely love it.
It's a wonderful thing that you are propagating this for the benefit of common people. I personally feel Indian doctors are still not open to it.
Well said!

Dr.Pal.. Thanks for the great video.. Intermittent fasting has helped me significantly.. I'm curious about how the circadian rhythm works in places where say sunrise is at 9am and sunset at 4pm.. That's how Vancouver is during winters.. Summers are like 5am sunrise and 8pm sunset..
Thanks doctor for mentioning about Breakfast, because of time restricted feeding, I skipped my breakfast and take lunch at 12noon and dinner at 7pm , lost 6 kg in 4 months and I am within my normal weight range now, Looks like it is the time to start with light breakfast. Did you had anything around 1pm
@@drraalaguraja1538 yes, on most days I do snack on fruits, nuts, or Sathumaavu kanji/overnight oats, around 1-2 pm. I haven’t been able to stick to two meals a day. The key is to plan what ur snack would be and pack it in the AM. Coz at 1/2 pm when ure hungry u tend to go for the sugariest or greasiest item in ur pantry.
HI, Did you reach your goal?
I used to skip breakfast for almost a year, was happy with the 17kg weight loss. A year later I contracted COvid post that started witnessing acute hairfall, from 0 to at least 100. I think skipping breakfast eroded the body's store of nutrients
You must never skip break-fast as it is the most important meal of the day. Besides, the glycogen stores are also almost diminished. You may skip dinner though.

One Question on this topic : Is it okay to drink lemon and water or methi seeds before 1 hour of waking up? Or should that also be avoided?
I've started a 21 day Intermittent fasting and Zero sugar diet. Today was my first day. My fasting window is between 8pm and 2pm the next day. Total 18 hours fasted state. I've included 2 litres of water, one buttermilk packet, and low carb, high fibre, high fat diet. I'm including nuts after lunch and dinner to help me keep full for longer
Started my weight loss journey from 1st February. One week it was little difficult for not eating in the night after sunset. But now I got used to it. I have lost 0.5 kg in one week. Feeling happy. Thanks so much sir.

I have black coffee one hour after I wake up, sip on lemon juice during the morning, and have lunch by 1 or 1:30. A fruit at 5 and light dinner by 7.
I have black coffee with no sugar, but a teaspoon of cream after I wake up (630 am). Have read that black coffee doesn't spike one's insulin levels which is a huge culprit in fat burn. Have a direct brunch at around 1130 am and then an evening dinner at 530 - 630 pm. Have found this extremely helpful. I do have Apple cider vinegar with hot water and lime in the morning around 10. This helps with extending the fasting window. I have lost nearly 40 lbs in about a year. I do walk/exercise at least 45 minutes 4 days a week! Thank you for running this wonderful channel Dr.Pal!

This is really enlightening video to all of us, especially mothers of young children. As a mother, I don't intentionally skip breakfast, but I prefer to have my first bite after dropping kid. So from evening 6 to next day 12 I don’t even bite a grain and drink anything except water. But you simple breakfast breaks the rules of intermittent fasting. And I thoroughly enjoyed your unconventional…funny…witty video.

Thanks for the great content Dr. Pal. Quick question regarding the circadian rhythm, you mention melatonin secretion based on sunset and sunrise . Is this a frame of reference for time or does this actually follow sunset and sunrise timings. For e.g. here in the US, during the summer, we have long days (sunrise at 5:30 am and sunset at 8:04 09:00 pm) and the opposite during the winter. Does our food cycle follow these per time or per region?
Per region, per time...wherever you are follow the sunrise ,sunset time.
It was about 15 to 20 minutes after waking up, but now I will follow the 1 hour rule. Very interesting, informative
Your videos are very helpful doctor, love them and very helpful to set the meal style and content for my family.
