  • 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' host exposes what caused inflation to hit a 39-year high
    #FoxNews #Tucker
    ...
TUCKER CARLSON: There's a lot about modern economic theory that's important but difficult to understand. In fact, many people formulating these theories don't really understand them, and that's why they can never explain anything clearly. But there is one core economic fact that everybody, even those of us with poor math skills, grasps instantly, and that's when we're getting poorer. How do you know when you're getting poor? You know you're getting poor when you don't have enough money to do the things that you once did. You are moving backward. It is a very scary feeling.

Chicken is really the only meat I can afford, but it's still $4 a lb. I used to buy chickens for $0.89/lb just a couple years ago. A couple years before that, beef - good beef, not the scraps - was around $9/lb. There isn't a cut of beef under $9/lb now.

Every president has problems. Biden is trying to solve this problem. Trump's problem was the pandemic. Trump repeatedly insisted that the pandemic would magically go away and offered many bogus treatments that didn't work.
Trump knew how lethal the pandemic was when he was interviewed by Bob Woodward on audio tape. In that interview Trump admits he knew how lethal the pandemic was but didn't want to tell the American people.
So rather than a dress this severe virus he lied to the American people over and over and over again and while he was sick with covid conducted spreader events.
As a result of his inept leadership over 600,000 people died, millions of businesses closed down as well as millions of jobs lost and the economy tanked.
In less than a year, although there is inflation, Biden has created more jobs than Trump did in his entire presidency and the latest job reports show the lowest jobless report in 50 years.
So every president has had problems. But Biden doesn't spend his time on the golf course or eating cheeseburgers or ignoring briefings. Biden works his butt off and this is why he passed the infrastructure package with 19 Republicans who supported it and now Trump wants to punish those 19 Republicans even though Trump bragged about his wonderful infrastructure package that never got passed.
Every president has problems but it's how you handle them that makes the difference.
When George Bush Jr was president he created the Great recession with a banking debacle that claimed trillions intoxic assets as AAA stocks and created a worldwide economic downfall. Obama did a lot to ameliorate this situation but because Republicans blocked funding for more money for the recovery package he couldn't get everything done that he wanted to. But in spite of it the economy came back and it was strong.

I judge inflation by my personal life. In the 70's, a man could be the bread winner in the house with a stay at home Mom, while raising 4 children. We had food on the table. Clothes on our back. Could afford to eat out once a week. Could take 2 or 3 vacations a year. We had all we "needed". Now a married couple with 1 child both have to work to make ends meet, and they still struggle. That's inflation. No...my Dad was not an Exec. or white collar worker. He was a truck driver for a small manufacturing company. There was a time when the owner of a company wasn't concerned in making millions, paid their employee's well, and respected the employee's. The money the owner made went back into the company and the employees...not the shareholders and bonuses for the rich. Too bad the younger generation will never know how that is.

No, Trump did not start that. This mess is all YOUR fault more than Bidens. You voted for it, you got it and now you are upset about what you got.
There is a reason Biden has a approval rating of 20 percent. 81 million votes indeed. No one believes it . You have bankrupted the middle class. Congratulations

@@max420thc Forget about Venezuela a poor country that they are still trying to strangle with sanctions. They spend trillions on military waste projects. They print US Treasury bonds that they then sell to the rich who then get paid with tax money. The debt has a creditors who want more than they put in. That's what investing is all about getting something for nothing with no work required. For capitalism to keep going the workers must go into impossible to pay back debts. As machines replace labor raising capital value than since the profit comes from our labor profit rates must decline. Nixon is the one who ended the gold standard enabling unlimited inflation. Any fool can understand you can't just print money and then expect to get back more than you started with. That's why they have no choice but to keep the presses running. It's never a question of halting the presses but how fast to run them. That's why both parties keep them going. When you police the world for rich American investors who demand a return for good or bad investments you can't help but create an unsustainable situation.

I live in Austin tx. I'm terrified of what rent may jump to when I see the new lease.😳 and I never defaulted on a single rent payment throughout the pandemic.

houses are being snapped up by mega investment outfits pricing real people out of the ability to buy homes. Highly leveraged and heading for a bust.

Start a savings account for a down payment today. Look into cheaper cost of living areas. Don't wait for the government to do anything. We've all seen what they've managed to do in just 1 year.

Much of the CPI is dependent on assumed relative wages. Very few low paying jobs are accomplished by 'telecommuting'. If you're poor, food may constitute a much higher proportion of your expenditures.
They need several CPIs to reflect what each group is spending, and include the geographic realities of people living in say, rural versus urban areas...
