@5:46 Thank you for the garage door shot for the people who cry about installing LEDS in halogen projectors claiming the have glare. Very nice to see that clean cut-off line. I've been testing few LED bulbs on my 2018/2019 4Runners (including some Amazon ones) and so far all have nice cut off line. Obviously one should adjust the headlight level after lift and bigger tires. I'm so glad now we can see the road vs halogen days. As long as I see a nice cut-off line on the LED bulb I don't care for hate comments. No I don't want to spend money for whole headlight housing, the hassle to install, the hassle to tap fuses for DRLs for my 4R and I see headlight housings you have to remove the whole housing to change the bulb. No thank you. I will just buy a low cost LED bulb for my existing housing.

Personally there has been a lot of tests with different brand LED PnP bulbs in the Tacoma. The one that produced the best usable beam in the low beam projector was the Morimoto 2 Stroke 3.0 bulb. It produced an identical beam pattern to the oem but with just a lot more brightness isn’t he hotspots. It even added a nice bluish hue to the cutoff like oem led projectors. Second place was the Xenon Depot Xtreme LED Pro’s. Third place was basically tied between the GTR lighting ultra 2.0 and the VLEDs top of the line bulb like these. Most of the rest all warped the cutoff line past acceptable levels or dropped the hotspot to the point where it would be brightest only about 20 meters out in front of the truck.

Sadly many of the after headlight assemblies will flake off their UV coating within a year, some have stopped working correctly because they are just not OEM quality and do not go through OEM testing, so it is is choice of $800 plus dollars for the entire aftermarket LED light assembly or $200 dollars for LED bulbs and keeping the OEM headlight assembly then I will go with the LED bulbs.
