      I also find the ECT PWR is a perfect mix of throttle response and gearing. It’s really more about customization but I agree, I live off mountain roads and the ECT PWR does plenty even with my little 4 cyl !! .. granted I’m not towing anything besides a few tools and a fiberglass bed cap but still impressed how much power the truck has in reserve climbing hills with just 160ish horsepower

This morning your customer service pro, Alex, texted me to ask and confirm I wanted the ones for the manual transmission, OOOPS! Alex sent me the links to the Husky's I really need. Alex cancelled my order and sent me the refund confirmation, new order placed and a headache for me was avoided. Can't say thank you enough, PdD in customer service, a pro's pro! One thing I wished you guys would of touched on when it comes to lifts is the gear ratio and lack of power it may cause from a lift as well as drive shaft spacers or leaf spring shims which are almost a must when lifting the Tacoma. I wish it was as simple as throwing a 6” lift on it and going. Also on the bumpers you guys suggested it would more than likely involve cutting the body to do so. I have lifted around 7 Tacoma’s and on almost all of the lifts have to be done just right.

    So I just bought a 21 Tacoma off road 4x4 access cab. My previous Tacoma was a ‘10, then a ‘15, then a ‘19, now this one. I’ve always had to have a seat pad to address the seating position and in my ‘19, i jacked the rear of the seat with a 2” steel square tube and seat jackers for the front. The power seat in the ‘21 fixed the seating position issue 100%. I also want to put a lift on it and after going to the motoroso site, I was unable to find the mentioned Skyjacker kit.

    I installed a k & n drop in filter and it improved throttle response. This engine air starved especially at lower RPM. The Atkinson cycle engine shortens the intake cycle at lower speeds. Any intake improvement will help. A TRD intake accelerator And k & n intake tube may help as well. These mods are considerably cheaper than a cold air intake. The stock air box is a cold air intake. These mods will open the intake and eliminate the air resonance box. I like the Borla cat back system

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před 3 lety +1

      Well that pull is understandable, these trucks are GREAT! It's a different thing from the van, with some pros/cons. First, in your van you can probably stand up, and have a bit more interior space. But on a Tacoma you will get a LOT more offroad performance and the ability to confidently and quickly get to more remote areas. The best way to set up for overlanding is to go with an overlanding bed rack system with modular sliders to store all your gear and tools, can even install a 12v refrigerator. On top you can get a roof mounted tent and awning to sleep the whole family! Hey Mark, no, not necessarily. Wheel size is not as important as tire size. You can go from a 16" to a 17" wheel, but keep the exact same tire diameter and have literally no change in the leverage on the drivetrain. If you go from a 31" to a 33" tires, you don't even necessarily NEED to re-gear, although re-gearing is a great way to get more torque through the drivetrain to deal with those larger tires.

    Will the pedal commander work on manuals?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před 3 lety

      Hey Jason, yes sir it will! The PC gives you 4 driving modes from "eco" where you can gain 20% fuel economy, on up to Sport+ which wakes the motor up and gives nearly no throttle lag. We can hook you up with a deal on one of those, shoot us an email at info@motoroso.com and tell us exactly which Year and Model you have. Super easy install, and doesn't affect your warranty at all!

    I 100% need to get the custom tune mapping. I live in a mountainous area and the shifting points do the opposite of what you want. downshifts two gears and redlines just for a tiny bit of accelration. Then will shift to a lower gear way before it ever gets into powerband, so you apply for gas and it downshifts again TWO gears to redline. What in the HELL were they thinking? My 2000 F-150 V6 manual is a dream to drive in comparision, which is extremely depressing.

    What are the long-term effects of messing with the throttle? I don’t know much about motors/transmissions. I drive a 2017 Tacoma SR5 V6. Thanks!

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před 3 lety +2

      None. The modules simply remove the digital lag programmed into the ECU, and act like a direct link between your pedal and the throttle body making the vehicle way more responsive. Nothing is changed about the engine mapping , fueling, or actual performance, it simply wakes the throttle up and feel more peppy.

    If I got a trd off road would 17” rim 33” tire what would the width need to be if I want the tire to come out bout 1” from wheel flare?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey, there isn't a super simple answer to this question. The best way to get that 1" of "tire poke" is to have a wheel with the correct offset, and a tire large enough to bulge past the fender but NOT rub too much (or at all). A -12 wheel offset brings the wheel out pretty flush with the fender, and then a larger offroad tire will stick out 0.5"-1". If you're trying to get that look with stock wheels, you will not be able to fit a tire large enough to stick out that much with just a different tire (it will rub inside). You can force it by installing wheel spacers with OE wheels, but we generally advise against this. Best solution = Wheels + tires optimized for exactly the look/stance you're trying to achieve. We're here to help with that and get you a good deal too, so hit us up on live chat at www.motoroso.com or call us toll free at 833.MOTOROSO.

    If you want "10 ply" tires that won't leave you changing a tire on logging roads, the leveling kit is requisite. It's not vanity and it hardly changes the profile anyway. If you're an adult who wants to look like a 17 year old and doesn't care about road handling, get a lift. You're BA.

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před 2 lety

      As long as you’re buying well designed and manufactured products, these manufacturers design lifts in a way that corrects geometries and you shouldn’t run into too many issues. If you just want a leveling kit, 2.5-3” max. If you get a proper suspensions lift, 6” is the most common big lift for Tacoma’s.
