    If you are finding it annoying at highway speeds where your truck shift back and forth between 5th and 6 gears, then I'll definitely talk to a local dealer and ask him about the transmission retune just for this reason. It took maybe a total of 2 hours and that was only because I didn't have an appointment beforehand. But it's been a couple months now and I've had zero issues, and a lot less annoying the drive on the interstate

      Given how many tunes are available (KD Max, OTT, etc.) I didn't think a factory tune was available in nothing was wrong with the truck... I'd prefer to go to the dealership to safeguard my warranty than go to a 3rd party for a tune... appreciate the suggestion...

    If you want a throttle booster there is only one clear leader, that is Banks Power Pedal Monster, it is head and shoulders better designed than all the others on the market, the Pedal Monster has built in fail safes like reverting back to stock programming when you put the vehicle into reverse, and if the Pedal Monster detects a problem it will revert back to the stock programming unlike all the others that will leave you with a dead pedal.
    Banks Power put in the research and development into the Pedal Monster so it would not suffer the short falls of Pedal Commander, Sprint Boost and the others on the market.

    You can do all these mods and maybe pick up 10hp. You’ll never notice the difference in your seat dyno. These are 4 and 6 bangers. Cold air intake just makes the air intake sound louder. My fuel mileage is the same as with stock intake. The supercharger will make a noticeable difference but at extreme cost. Nice trucks. No power. Proven reliability.

    • @Twenty3rdGen
      @Twenty3rdGen Před 10 měsíci +1

      Intake does add a little power but nothing crazy. I did tests on this last week actually with my Tacoma and went from a 7.7 0-60 to a 7.4 and a 15.9 1/4 mile to a 15.7. I did it for the intake noise though not the power lol.

You wanna get more suspension performance and take it offroad? You wanna go camping? You want a little more power? Or you just want it too look great? Hey Jacob, I just have the 4-cylinder also, but it's four-wheel drive but also I'm in the Midwest salt belt so it's not really a choice for me. I just did a few little things 2019, a 2-inch leveling kit, went up a couple sizes in tires, just a regular cold air intake upgrade that's just a couple hundred bucks, a Cat-Back exhaust that was just slip on but I did weld the seams, and I change the rear drum brakes over to disc which was really simple and very much worth it. And this isn't performance issues but I did have to get rid of those crappy speakers in the front doors and the dash and mine is the extended cab four-door not the full doors that didn't have speakers in the rear, but these are easily added the wires are already ran and located next to each door in the harness by the storage bin, and then in the doors the covers are already there with the hole for the speaker already so all you need is that mounting ring and the speakers but that made a big difference we're just a few hundred bucks you can get ones that make a huge difference in the sound quality so that should make it more fun

    • @2wheeled76
      @2wheeled76 Před rokem

      Don’t fall for it. Research other videos on these pedal position “upgrades”. If you mostly drive on pavement or dry/high traction off road then maybe go for it but they are detrimental for modulating throttle on loose surfaces like muddy rocks/snow/rain/ice. Best to put the money towards a re-gear so your motor can operate at ideal torque/hp vs always searching between gears.

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Před rokem +1

      @@2wheeled76 We agree, regearing is a great mod. However, disagree that throttle modules aren't useful. The pedal commander offers 36 levels of control, on both sides of the spectrum. I use mine in a more sensitive position on the street for a more sporty feel and better response, and I'll throw it into eco mode for slower response in slippery low traction situations, making it EASIER to modulate the throttle, not harder. Having the control over the sensitivity is definitely better than not having it. But its not a substitute for re-gearing, and we didn't claim it was.

I guess at the end of the day everyone has the right to add whatever farkle they like if it makes them happy.

    That AFE cold air system is complete garbage. That is unless you like listening to the intake in the cab. Mine had that on it when I bought it it was the first thing I removed. You couldn’t even hear the radio save your money for trips and gasoline don’t put stupid stuff on your truck.

    Pedal commander 👎
    Find a tuner near you.
    MBRP sounds like crap on everything, and usually performs worse than stock. 👎
    AFE is made of better materials. Same issue as MBRP. No performance. 👎
    The truck comes with a CAI from the factory. There is not an intake on the market that performs better than stock. It was fun to here the guy in this video refer to induction sound as "intake bark" though. 👎
    RIPP coil packs are legit. Pair them with a supercharger or turbo. 👍
    4.88 regear is prime for these trucks. Don't fall for the 5.29 hype. Do your research.

    The stock shocks on my 2023 tacoma trd offroad are straight GARBAGE. They are like made from toothpicks. Exhaust and coldair intakes are not jeeded for any tacoma DONT DO IT. Except for the AFE srtuff. They bump up the power enough to make it worth it. I have afe momentum intake on my 2014 tacoma sport. NOT NEEDED and you cant install a snorkel if you install a coldair intake!!! The only one that youll need is the pedal commander. Pedal commander works great.

    • @Motoroso

      True, but it belongs in this video because its popular among our Tacoma customers that want the feeling of power and responsiveness, but don't want to spend much, void their warranty, or an install that takes any time.

      He's not wrong.... an intake is absolutely wasted money. Your little Tacoma's stock intake is the same stock intake that comes on the Tundra, so the Tacoma intake is definitely not restricted. It is also already pulling cold air from the fender. So that isn't a reason to upgrade either. If you just want sound, order a tube directly from k&n for $40. But you won't get any more power from changing the intake.
