Good review and a interesting unit, but the price is kind of steep. I’m not sure how I feel about the aesthetics of the floating aspect but I definitely like all the features in the fact that it’s a 9 inch display. Are there problems while driving over bumps and rough terrain with this floating display? Can you do a video with this head unit actually inside different vehicles, so that we can see what it looks like inside a car, SUV and a truck? Also, shoot the video from different angles. The HDMI port is a very interesting feature, and I like the fact that you can mirror your phone. I know that people have connected fire sticks to the older, in-dash 7 inch, model of this particular unit, so is it possible to connect a fire stick to this HDMI port? There are a lot of movable parts, accessories and extensions that apparently are not included with the purchase of this unit. I’m sure we won’t get the best experience out of the unit without all the extra amenities. How much more money is all that extra stuff?
So I just bought one of these a couple weeks back. Mine was 1400 with the install. I am not happy at all with it, and especially after seeing this video and other's... my problem is that when I got it, it did not come with my box, no manual which is the smallest problem, biggest is that it is slow, it lags, Bluetooth is 3 seconds behind, also it has dust and dirt behind the face plate that you cannot clean offf.. another thing, the main reason I got this, was for the screen mirroring, I have an a54 android, and I am going on my 5th adapter to hook up, I haven't been able to get it to work. I have called android hotline to see if there is a setting that needs to be on with the tethering, it's fine, and still no mirroring

Have you installed one in an old truck before? I have a 1969 Dodge pickup. A floating screen is the only way I can see getting a screen in my truck due to the foam dash hanging over and contour of the metal part of the dash. What are your thoughts?

My 2008 GMC Yukon came with XM, but when I hang up from a long phone call the system never switches back to XM. I literally have to scroll thru the different music input menus to get the XM to play again. has anyone else experienced this? Also it seems that the XM in the car is battling with the Android auto XM when I start the car, I never know which is going to come on.

I just purchased this radio and it is truly great, only major concern is the phone call quality and Siri sounding robotic (she sounded natural with my last head unit) is this a problem with all pioneer head units? Or just mine?
Thanks for the review! quick question on using Waze on CarPlay- does the vehicle speed sensor need to be installed and is that something the installer should have done for us? Waze starts working fine then completely wiggs out on any phone in the car.
Ok so normally you don’t need to wire in the speed sensor wire. The GPS navigation antenna that comes with the radio will keep it accurate. Try unloading resetting the radio or see if you have the latest software version for your radio. Ok hope that helps

Can someone help me figure out the hotspot / WIFI connection, please? The HU keeps saying no internet connection but I show it as connected to hotspot and I have my sports teams selected in the Pioneer app, but the widget on HU says no teams selected. So confused. Help pls!
When I had my pioneer installed they ask if I wanted the steering wheel controls, I said yes Love being able to control stereo or ask stuff via steering wheel
There’s not a dedicated side Camera Input but you can definitely plug-in another camera into the other camera input. You would just have to manually activate it instead of it being activated by a turn signal but there are adapters where you can tap into the turn signal and it will activate the camera input. Let me know if you need more details on how it’s done
Is there a way to adjust the microphone sensitivity in the settings of the DMH-WT7600NEX? I just installed this, but even talking at a normal volume the caller on the other end says that it sounds way too loud. I have the microphone positioned at the top of the windshield in the center of the vehicle near the rear view mirror.
So, @ 10:24 in this video, are you saying that you were actually able to use wireless Apple Car Play AND wireless Android Auto simply by connecting your head unit to your shop's WIFI network (NETGEAR17)? I thought that the head unit had to be connected to the Iphone's WIFI hotspot in order to use wireless Apple Car Play. I also thought that in order to use wireless Android Auto, an android phone had to to be connected to the head unit's WIFI under Wireless Settings. I didn't see you do either of those things, but it looks like everything worked fine for you. The reason I'm asking is because I have the DMH-WT8600NEX and for some reason, I haven't been able to get wireless Android Auto to work. Android Auto with a USB cable works fine though. Wireless Android Auto also worked flawlessly on the my old AVH-4500NEX.
Im not associated with this channel, but I just got this radio installed today in my car and I was able to connect to android auto before I even left the parking lot of the shop. I believe in the settings i just connected via bluetooth and then it prompted me to do android auto and whatnot. Good luck man, hopefully your unit isnt defective.
Question!? If your car goes to the shop and they unplug the battery, will you have to redo every single one of your settings you previously set?? Cause that's a lot to remember 😆🤣😂🤔😬🥴
I had that same issue on the dmh-4660. If you switch to hd radio or another source you can change it. I took it out and returned it. Lol kept my 4400nex
Ok if your going give a review on a stereo can you at least actually use the stereo you are reviewing. The actual stereo you are using is the DMH-WT8600NEX.
I'm actually kind of disappointed with my purchase of this head unit. Navigating the controls and touch screen is SUPER janky. It's sluggish and slow compared to modern phone screens. If you're expecting swipes and touches to feel buttery like your phone, you can forget it. Many of the controls are inexplicable and very difficult to use. The sound is fine. I'm glad to have CarPlay. But if this is the best that's available, well, we have a long way to go.

If rear steering wheel trajectory worked on my VW Passat I would get it. The standard reverse lines on this unit is plain.

It it through the Bluetooth or the carplay/android? I believe in the CArplay/android settings there is a mic adjustment.

We carry the boss unit too. Personally I say yes.
Boss is a cheap brand that doesnt hold a candle to pioneer.

Ok make sure you have the latest software on your phone… we’ve also ran into that but that should fix it.

Ok make sure you go through all the accept and agree pages. If you don’t it won’t work. I show you how to do that at the 13:25 mark on the video
