How to Magnetise a Chaos Helbrute - The Worst Tutorial You Will Ever See. 40k Death Guard

I spent a good few hours magnetising my Death Guard Helbrute and thought I would show you guys how I did it. I think the end result turned out great and it was surprisingly easy to magnetise all the different weapon options. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

It's actually very nice to see someone making common errors while making a tutorial, it feels more relatable because most of us don't do things perfectly every time like most tutorials.

You can very easily magnetize the Helbrute arms without any drilling. Glue in a magnet on the inside wall of the shoulder joint that goes into the torso, then assemble the body as normal. When putting together the arms, take the bit that slots into the shoulder joint, dry fit it to the torso and put a bit of glue on the inside. Now you can simply put a magnet there and it will snap into place, pulled by the magnet inside the torso. Then just continue assembling the arms and you end up with perfectly aligned magnets that are both glued inside the hollows of the model.
You obviously need a magnet strong enough to pull through the layers of plastic, but that's not a big ask, I've done it even with N32 rated magnets. And be sure to use good quality superglue and use a good amount. You don't want the magnet to get loose inside the model, there's no fixing that.

Thank you for a great tutorial! The most important revelation was that you don´t need to magnetise everything (like the weapons). I do think it is easier to work with the green stuff and magnets on the single part and then assemble the shoulders or other parts. For people not wanting to use a power drill I it is perfectly fine to drill by hand. I start with a smaller drill (like 1 mm or 2 mm hand drill) and the just use the desired drill bit (like 5 mm) to finnish it. It requires just a few rotations before you are through and you can clean the hole with a hobby knife. I am playing Tau as well so have done my share of magnetising 😀

I got them from that Chinese website Temu. They were super cheap. It looks like the exact ones I ordered are sold out but there are a lot more options available on their website :)
