Yea I've heard about those issues. Definitely gonna be keeping an eye on it. Supposedly this one has one recall fixed, though not quite sure what for, might be a cam chain tensioner so we'll see how she goes. For now, the level is good though, but good lookin out 👍

I don't want to be that guy, but high siding in cold weather was probably not your tires fault

Rock hard tires from being weathered combined with 28 degree outside air temperature and even colder ground temperature. Means essentially riding on ice

I've had really old and really cheap tires and you gotta be really careless to break the rear on those. @@MotoShortsStarkvegas

the 2008-2011 fairings are the worst set I've come across, they look great it's my favorite look, but if this is gonna be a daily or a regular ride, maintenance is gonna be much more frequent especially on these 08 engines, tearing these fairings off and putting them back on is such a hassle and really easy to mess up, there are just too many pieces and tings will break more often.
There are two ways to remedy this issue, both routes cost about the same but they are worth it.
    1) buy a set of 2012-2016 cbr1000rr fairings
-Pros: Less pieces, can use better hardware to secure them in place, won't require much if any fabrication, just as stylish
    - Cons: You will need to buy the 2012-2016 headlight assembly and fairing mounts/conversion kit, might require some extra hardware to get fitment correct.
    2) Buy a set of race fairings
-Pros: looks F**king sick, testosterone and street cred increase x10, only 2-3 pieces to deal with, perfect fitment and zero gaps anywhere it is seriously smooth.
-Cons: YOU WILL NEED TO FABRICATE AND IMPROVISE A BIT (you'll need to cut the upper fairing to fit the headlight, make your own mounts and drill your own holes), depending on the brand you get the fairings from you might need to get new intakes but you could probably fit the oem ones in there.
Other than that, watch out for that gearbox and try not to dump the clutch too often, and make sure the valves are adjusted when you get to 15k miles.
