I have been using this camera for planespotting, and since I understood how it works, I can assure there is no other camcorder or videocamera that can make a better footage. The quality is outstanding for being a bridge camera! I just can’t wait for the new RX10V, just filming at night is what I expect for this new bridge. Great clip as well man!

I couldn’t agree more with you and I’m not one to ever bicker or complain but boy do I miss having a fully articulated view screen when I’m on the ground were using a miss direction tactic with facing in the opposite direction but having my camera faced at the bird the partially articulated screen on the Sony isn’t completely terrible but you can really capitalize on a fully articulated screen

What about when you keep the camera hanging around your neck or walking around untill your next shot. I can imagine with the screen staying on, the battery is being drained.
Can i accustom one of the buttons to manually turn on and off the lcd? And when i turn it off, would i still be able to swipe a finger on the moniter for focus while using the EVF? im strongly considering this camera
@@yankyruss7246 yes and I usually will keep my hand over it so it keeps the monitor from going off
Agreed, its one off Theo best overall and for sure the best bridge.
We've had the RX10IV for a year now and my wife and I love it for just about everything. Primarily used for kids sports photography and other everyday events. If Sony ever releases a mark V with updated AF similar to their new FF models, a faster card slot, or two, and hi res lcd screen and viewfinder, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Love the videos, keep up the great work.

I always default normally with f4 for birds but tonight I was watching a video with Arthur Morris and he is pretty adamant that he shoots normally at F8 what do you suggest with this camera? I do sometimes get frustrated as I like the F4 but with certain birds like song birds sometimes the bill is out of focus and I’m wondering if I bump up the aperture or closed down a little bit more Howard work
@@MrBillkaz it’s going to depend on how much light there is at any given time and how fast the bird is moving. I’d set it on manual or aperture priority and use to front aperture ring to shoot a pic at f4 then twist it to f5.6 and f8 and take another and compare them at home. If they’re just moving too fast increase the shutter speed. I would not just leave it in auto. It doesn’t do a great job deciding what you’re trying to accomplish. I had mine on auto a few days ago taking pics of the 8th grade cheer team indoors and it prioritized aperture instead of shutter speed and a lot of my shots had motion blur until I switched it to shutter priority. I read in pcmag the pic quality really falls off at f11 and f16.
Yes Stuart them red bellied robins are hard to see, I often hear them and search around and can’t see them. I’m loving this camera. Keep up the great work your doing

The whippy formations falling down from the main clouds is simply the begining of rainfall. It has become cool enough in those zones for the 'vapour' to stop rising and start dropping... as rain.

Question for you! Have you tried any kind of filters on it? Like Cpl or graduated filters if so could you share some comments on it?

Sorry to bug in but I bought a Joya 72 infrared filter and it’s absolutely incredible and while it’s challenging because the post process and getting the proper white balance is essential the images are simply stunning if you don’t know about infrared photography I encourage you to Google it because it’s a really fascinating type of photography and this is another beautiful silver lining is actually the best time to shoot in for a photographer he’s actually in the mid day so it kind of has allowed another dynamic and it really almost doubled my passion because I usually shoot wildlife but with the infrared imaging it’s incredible I highly recommend it it’s not too expensive like $72 or something

so i have the rx10iv in wide most of the time but swap into small spot but most of the time the camera locks onto what i want anyway as i use it in afc wide most of the time and it picks the closest object. still got our fingers crossed for the rx10V come on @sony

interesting video again. 👍 the weird cloud is precipitation falling out of a high altitude shower cloud. it never reaches the ground as it dissipates. it is in the sky for a long time as it it probably ice crystals falling rather than water moisture.

I've come to the realisation that taking pictures of small woodland birds is a whole lot easier in winter.
With all the foliage on trees and bushes, they can be just a few feet away, but you won't see more than a glimpse of them, if you're lucky.

In 1080p hd you can set the stabilisation to intelligent active. It crops in a bit but is really handy for walking about
Amazing video as always .. what is your method for zooming macro .. do you fully extend and shoot or do you reduce the zoom and get in closer ?
I recently sold my Olympus OMD EM1ii and lenses and bought a mint second hand Sony RX10iv from MPB. I absolutely love it, the focusing is amazing and like you say, that lens is incredible too, it's the perfect camera as far as I am concerned. As soon as I saw those flying ants in your video (incredible by the way) I started to itch!

Hello sir, im planning on buying the rx10iv. You had said that the condition was nearly mint. May i know for how much you were able to buy it for? And do you think that the pride you paid for in 2022 for it is a good enough deal? Also do you have any cons about the camera if any?
@@ashwin2101 i cant answer how much they paid but i have seen one sold for £800 used. smaller battery is a little annoying but not the end of the world just carry a couple spares. and high iso but get topaz denoise ai software and u can use the camera upto iso3200 with no problems and the transfer speed of upto 240 shots in a burst can take a while to clear but only if you go nuts . other than that its an amazing camera even in 2022
@@ashwin2101 Hello Ashwin I paid £1,259.00 for my Sony RX10iv from MPB . They described my camera as excellent but I would have described it as mint, not a mark on it. I honestly can't think of a negative about it. Just having one camera that can cover 24-600mm without changing lens plus amazing macro abilities and fantastic video. The auto focus is so fast, much better than my OMD EM1ii. The quality and sharpness of the Leica lens is wonderful

Do you normally video in 1080p or 4K? I've only just bought this camera and trying to get my head around the whole menu. Enjoyed your video, the zoom in on the planes were great.
A mixture really sometimes 4k for detail but 50fps in hd for the intelligence actuve stabilisation for when im walking about
If they make a mk5, I would really wish they get rid of the POWER ZOOM, its way to slow and just eats battery power. And yes they need a new sensor, and Z battery. Also bird eye focus. I recently sold my big equipment, that was the Sony a 7MK4 and the 200 to 600 mm lens. I had this RX 10 MK 4 for about two years and I found I was using it more than the big gear. I have photographed the same owl with the big gear and this RX10mk4 and there really is not that much of a difference. I know the limitations of this camera in low light but the grainis fixed up with the new software like Topaz. So the end result is real close to the big cameras without the pain in the neck carrying them around, and changing lenses and dealing with sensor dust.
yep id love it to be like the F828 i had years ago now back i think in 2004 ish. no power zoom but not sure how the internals would work etc. with topaz denoise you can use the camera easily with iso 2500 and 3200 no problems
Excellent, and completely agree re this amazing camera. Only problem is that after 5 yrs I recently noticed a “foreign object” at the edge of my images. I’m assuming something has worked its way in and lodged itself inside the lens. So, my question is can I get this dealt with either by Sony or anyone else for that matter? I ask now cos a couple of years ago when I simply wanted the camera cleaned a local tech told me it couldn’t be done since it was a sealed unit. That is, only external surfaces can be cleaned! Surely this is wrong?
i made the mistake of taking the front element off on my 1st rx10iv and the front element is shimmed from factory to be aligned perfectly and i couldnt get it back on right so messed up the images coming out of it ie focus was mega soft at 600mm. the lens comes off from the body end so is a complete dismantle id call sony service centre and see what they say cost is but its £650 for a new lens alone just so you know.

@@beefheart111 is it something you could just give a little tap when camera is off so it falls out of shot? send them some photos and shoot at f16 so it shows up easier at wide angle and at max zoom
I have a different problem although it’s an exact position my IVF has the mark you speak of whatever I shoot luckily the images are infected

nope you cannot but i tend to video then stop and take a photo then video again no real issue in 4k though you can take pretty good stills from video

Can you help me??? I have had a nikon little pocket camera that had a 450 x Zoom and this Sony I have should go to 600 zoom But i get less than the nikon???? So I am very disappointed with it and it was twice the price.I used to get the moon as well But cant get it with this Sony Camera???
the rx10iv is basically a pro level camera in an all in one body with more features than most will ever need. but it also will have a much bigger sensor than the nikon and also the lens quality is much higher and image quality also much higher also autofocus much faster plus 100s of other things. its not all about zoom but you can take good shots of the moon i have done many times with it.
I'm curious about your mic set up. You sound so clear as you are walking around on a windy day.
that day was just keeping my hand over the mic a bit as was just the camera mic in use

@@matokuwapi yep also my body was probabaly blocking the wind a bit aswell. i do have the sony ecm bluetooth wireless mic aswell but about £200 i use that for work mostly with the A1 but does work on analogue on the rx10iv
Man, I'm really looking forward to see if rumors are true and we get to see RX10V in the near future. Its a great camera system already, but if they can improve all those things you and other shave talked about. Longer lasting batter, few ergonomic improvements, computational, smartphone-like ability to shoot in dark, or improve resolution etc. Latest AF system. Faster processor that can deal with all that. It would truly be something. Watching your channel I realized just how much more one can do with this system than I imagined. Thank you for that. Keep them coming.

@@MrBillkaz i have both and yes the A1 is amazing but i still use the rx10iv next to it all the time and still blows my mind how good the rx10iv is
I sold my rx10iv, pretty sad move as I really do miss it. If the 5 comes out I will snap it up. Id like to see 10 bit 4k 60p that would be a dream setup. Oh and better stabe

@@sjm.photos yeah why not, id rather a clean 1080 240fps than 4k 120. Ive got the a7siii but hardly use the 4k 120p. I find the a7siii has amazing quality 1080p as its downsampling from 4k
@@theinfinate all depends on what you are doing 240fps is to slow sometimes where 120 is just right
I just bought this camera last month! I looked at a lot of reviews and many were still saying how great this camera was even years later in 2022. I use mine primarily for shooting stock video footage of wildlife and landscape. The zoom was a must for me and the crystal clarity at zoom was what sold me 💜🙌🏻 - Amy

yes it works pretty ok but helps with topaz denoise i will be out soon with it in low light

If it had 10bit internal video I'd jump on it. But not with 8bit.
7 year old camera and its hardly a deal breaker the video off the rx10iv is very good and you can get stuff no one else can
