    Love those shots of the wading birds right at the surf line. That’s one thing I’m missing here in southern Arizona! I’ve been using my RX10iv to shoot hummingbirds hovering at a flower. High burst rate, afC and centre focus point has been working well. Even at 1/1000 sec some of the wing beats are still a blur depending on which stroke the wing is in.

    The RX10 IV has very good AF. The animal eye AF feature was a nice add on that they did in their last firmware update.

  • @555ontario
    @555ontario Před 2 lety +2

    Nice. As for the next version (5) , though many would like the bigger battery, a better menu system, a full touch screen, a bigger sensor (of course but unlikely), longer slow motion time, and a host of other upgrades, in my humble opinion, adding 5 or more stabilization axis is the key. That affects shooting for all. That's not a convenience; that would allow for better hand held shooting which many of us amateurs/hobbyist do. Add that and the RX10mV takes a huge leap forward. I hope Sony engineers don't read this as I just bought the mIV and if they omit that element on the next version, I'll be a very happy camper and not feel like my camera is obsolete and lacking (haha). Come on Sony, be the marketers you are and add a bunch of cool things but leave off that key element for the mV version. Please and thank you. Lol. :)

    I actually purchased this camera after watching your video's and am really pleased with it, so much so I am taking it out more and leaving my A9 at home for the convenience. My only wish is that it had zone focus as well which I prefer. Amazing camera though. Took a gull in flight heading towards me and out of 40 shots only 6 had slightly missed focus

    • @sjm.photos

      Fstop choice is the only way so higher the number the deeper the depth so adjusting it just enough to allow both in focus either that or 2 photos and merger in photoshop

      The rx10iv is from 2017 so technically wise it was very early in the animal eye after so its good for cats and dogs and a few other animals but rarely an issue as the sensor is smaller you get a bit more in focus

    Rx10mk4 is an amazing tool,the only thing needs to be improved is IS.

    • @sjm.photos
      @sjm.photos  Před 4 lety +2

      IS is fine but because its lens giro based it takes 1 second to spin up before its fully active so even though you might be taking photos already its only after about a second you get the full benefits. but IS could be improved in the wide angle video area .

    • @sjm.photos
      @sjm.photos  Před 2 lety +1

      first of all set the camera to MF (manual focus) then if you go into the menu and go to the 1st camera symbol the red one then go to page 12 go to MF Assist and turn to off also change Focus magnif. time to no limit. then go to the 2nd camera symbol the purple one then go page 9 go into custom key (shoot) choose a button you want to use and choose focus magnifier and then come out. now you can choose to zoom in to check focus manually if you want to or not i use the camera in AFC all the time and just set the AEL button to MF/AF Toggle which means you can be in manual focus but just touching the button and back into AFC again just that simply ive not moved the dial at the front sinse i bought the camera
