Christopher Young may not be as well-recognized as other composers, but he is an excellent musician.

@Maddafi I see. I'm a huge Godzilla fan, so I know all the main composers. Lots of the American reedits sample music from other composers. I never look into that music. lol
      Thanks for the info!

This is a great score by Christopher Young. It's too bad a Fly 3 movie was never made after this one.

Actually there is a comic sequel called The Fly: Outbreak that picks up where this left off. Technically The Fly 3 even though it's not a movie, check it out it's a cool story!

I love the score and this theme. I just listened to the suite "Neptune" from Gustav Holst's "The Planets" and was amazed how Young's theme resembles it.

Este OST se merecía The Fly de 1986 definitivamente, es lo mejor de está secuela que no le llega a los talones a su predecesora

It's a good movie. Weaker than Part 1 (duh), but it's pretty good. Much less depressing, this time the guy turning into a giant fly actually helps him get the bad guys. Go Fly Powers!

I remember being a little boy watching the sequel and cheering on the Fly when he started taking the bad guys out, holding up my fingers to form little 10s like with professional jump board diving, making sure to show the ten for his perspective and not my own (so he sees 10 and I see 1.)

I'm sorry but you guys who says that Howard Shore's version of "The Fly" sounds better are wrong.
Christopher Young's version of "The Fly 2" sounds way better and has more of a "wow factor" than Shore"s.
Especially at the beginning of the music as it plays all the way to the end.
Hell, i think the movie was even better than the first.
More action, graphic violenence, and gorish :)

You mean... it's not that one either.
Well, if it's not Hellraiser and it's not Spider-Man, then what is it?!
Huh? You mean they made a sequel to The Fly?
Seriously now, Chris Young reheated the Hellraiser theme so often that his career started to look like this In Living Color Sketch: czcams.com/video/IHnP7Rk6wFM/video.html

well "genius" is a bit much but he definitly knows his craft.
The sound is quite the same as in hellraiser. I doubt that he had much work on that theme

    • @FranticAnimations
      @FranticAnimations Před 3 lety +1

I think he’s had more than enough scores to be considered a genius. This sounds like Hellraiser in parts for sure but most composers, even the best ones, have very similar themes to one another. Superman and Indiana Jones for example.

@@FranticAnimations let's home in on "he has huge talent" as the definition of a "genius" seems a bit more complex ;-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genius

@@ScoringStageEu Literally the first sentence can be applied to Chris Young. Listen to the Core score. Shit film but the score is taught in a lot of classical music schools because it's an intelligent piece of music.
