As an indie polish maker, I have a kintillion flakies. So I decided to try my hand at opal nails. This was inspired by a full set that @TabythaScottNails did on a client & I will link her video below.
Today was a "Nana Nail Day" & she's usually my guinea pig when I'm practicin new stuffs. She was obsessed with her opal accents so I decided I'd film a tute for it. (again, Tabytha's design was my inspo.)

Just found you! Love your interpretation of an opal nail! I found Tabytha Scott last week and have been soaking up her tips and tricks, but your version of Opal fits me better. I’m a self taught beginner, so less is more. But you ladies are amazing! I’ve added flakies to my Amazon basket for next pay day.

I just finished this look. It WAS easy. The flakes are the key. I started out with a white dip powder base and did 2 coats of the milky white/flakes. Topped with clear gloss gel. Perfect! Thank you for all of your tips and tricks.-Joy Got flakes at TEMU

That is gorgeous. It is a lot of work too but I would love to have all opal nails or the ones with extended nailbeds and opal on the tips. Looks pretty next to the green

Really like your personality. Your design was awesome. I’m going to try your technique using regular nail polish cuz I don’t really like gel polishes much anymore.
wull ain't you just a doll, thank youuu! 🥰 oh you can absolutely use this technique with regular polish. these are flakies that i usedta mix into my bases loaded lacquer indie brand polishes. no sense in lettin em languish on the shelf since i've closed shop, so i still incorporate em into my gel designs. i'm so glad you found this vid helpful! tysmfw! 💙

hi im a new subscriber from Australia I got a craft nails channel...I loved this tutorial thankyou I used to do opal effect by mixing 3 colours then painting over it with sheer colour but this way is better less hassel.🎉im gonna try that...can I mix it with a topcoat I don't have a base
hey, babes! welcome to the madness! 🤣 oh yeah, you can make a milky/jelly polish by mixin with top coat as well. but if it's a no-wipe top coat, ya won't have a tacky (dispersion) layer to work with if ya need it. tysm for tunin in! 🥰

i believe these are called tiger venom from didspade
That green is awful and clashes so bad with the opal.
