Pau mentioned around the league was annoyed and complained on the lopsided trade that sent him to the Lakers. Coach Pop is arguably the most vocal that time, knowing very well Pau helped turn the Lakers into instant Title contenders.
IIRC, Jerry West is about to leave the Grizzlies. And before he did, he pulled off "a coup" by sending the team's best player to LA. Inasmuch I'm trying to respect elders, what he did is disrespectful (as if he, fans, and bandwagons would care anyway).
He should have played in San Antonio as early as 2014, when the team was fresh from the redemptive 5th Title finish. But the Spurs decided to keep the lineup intact, plus the team kept cap space/flexibility to lure quality FAs in 2015 (LaMarcus Aldridge).
Pau arrived a bit too little, too late. If not for "PaCheapshot" and "Judas", he could have won a ring with the Spurs.
Nonetheless, it seems he had a great time in SA and thankful how he and his family were treated.
