Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Here is Part 1 of my tour of Spetses, in which I list all forty Greek islands that I've visited: czcams.com/video/WoPwi5iTbzY/video.html In case this video seems a little choppy or confusing since it shares some of the same footage with Part 1, the reason is because I created a bit of a quandary for myself with this video series. Originally I planned to film one video of Spetses and I thought it would take just a few minutes at the beginning to list all forty Greek islands I'd visited. Instead, it took around thirty minutes. I realized that people would be pretty annoyed to click on a video titled "A Tour of Spetses" only to end up listening to me going on and on about all the Greek islands I've visited for thirty minutes. Plus I still had a lot of additional footage after that, so I needed to split it up. But I wanted there to be an introduction of the island for both videos, so I used the same intro I'd filmed in both videos, edited somewhat differently. Anyway Part 3 will be next, when I meet up with one of my viewers, Nikos from Greece, who has traveled to 90 countries and more than 100 Greek islands. You can check out his CZcams channel here: www.youtube.com/@IAMDASKALO
I really don't recall such rainy June in Greece maybe since forever. But next week the forecast shows only sunny days
I live vicariously through you Gabriel, keep up the great travels!
Another stunning island
What an incredible journey now I have to write down more islands to visit when in Greece
Gabe You are certainly in your element Thanks for the ride and sound advice
What an incredible journey! The serene and picturesque sights of the island are captured so beautifully, and the host's narrative truly brings the experience to life. The video strikes a perfect balance between travel commentary and showcasing the scenery. Loved the first church and the brief encounter with wildlife. The weather might have been a bit moody, but it gave the island a unique, mystical aura that was surprisingly captivating. Also, great to learn some practical travel tips along the way. Can't wait to visit Spetses someday. Looking forward to more travel explorations!
Every Island to discover ,great vlog thank you
The sign actually says "For Rent". Have fun in Spetses. 😍🇬🇷
I am a Greek (from Nafplio) who lives abroad and watching your videos reminds me the sense of freedom and inner peace I had every time visiting back these places. Can't wait returning back to Greece this summer
.
the bird is a Partridge
You deserve millions of views and subs
Stunning Greece. Love it. I also have traveled many times there and feel the same. Hah you do butcher the Greek names strongly, but it's fine. You love the language and you do what you can.
Well Gabe, I do so love your Greek expeditions, the best type of Anabasis. How about a vid made of your 'Top Ten Greek Things/Places To Do'? Old footage, new perspectives.
And just on a note of concern, would it be safer to chest/helmet mount a camera to make the biking/motocross a bit safer?
czcams.com/video/MMS0bTczScU/video.html
That's a partridge! Specifically the rock partridge, _Alectoris graeca,_ pérdika in Greek.
Cool. 👍
Gabe from Monday full sunshine in Greece Im also waiting! Greetings from Limnos Island 😅😂
Oh yeah, stoked for it. 😎👊
SPETSES is amazing.
WOW next video is going to be amazing going into the cave
Nice ride Gabe, looks like a great spot and its quiet, shame about the weather. Least you haven’t had thunderstorms like we are getting in central Greece at the moment. Stay safe out there 😃👍
A little thunder today but only some sprinkles. More clouds tomorrow and then Monday looks like the day that the Greek summer finally begins, all sunshine after that. 😎 Have fun on the mainland.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos here in thessaloniki it was raining a lot 2 days ago and many places got flooded. This June is wild
@@GabrielTravelerVideos will do, off to Preveza for a couple days, hopefully it stays dry. 😃👍
How lovely the scenery, how lucky we are getting to experience all that , thanks to you Gabriel...
ενοικιάζεται (e-nee-kee-A-ze-te) = for rent, to let
(ε)νοικιάστηκε (e-nee-kee-A-stee-ke) = rented
χαρτοπετσέτα (har-to-pe-tsE-ta) = paper towel/napkin 😁
Haha, thanks. ✌️
Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing Greece!! A country that does not know the word "stress". Yiasou!
❤ beautiful place thanks for taking me there . saludos 🎉
Spetses is a beautiful island. Thank you for a great video!
A wonderful clip from the amazing Gabe 😃✌️
I've swam in that beach at Agia Paraskevi, very relaxing place to be, not crowded even in August
Bravo Gabriel.
you were right the first time it means its available to rent
The WORD means "rental" and is pronounced annie-kia-zitit.
Good morning from Arizona 6 am 81 degrees
I think I have stayed in your hotel a few years back. It certainly looked very familiar. If you ever go back to Spetses, try to visit at the time when they are celebrating the “Armata” festival. It gets super busy but they celebrate an important part of Greek history and it is a quite nice experience. 😃
11:46 Always take your pictures or video when you have a chance, because the weather conditions can change at any time.
Exactly.
I am amazed how quiet the island is, having been to spetse many many times in May, early June in the 80's and later years when it had many more tourists.
Another great video Gabe,I must say you’re more comfortable on a bike with a engine😀
Flat out impressive, Gabriel! ❤
Cool. 👍
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I often joke that Gabriel goes places so I don't have to, but, all kidding aside, you really are quite the amazing, rare-breed Fellow.
And, honest to God, you make travel mishaps look so surmountable.
Why doesn't everything look so dang easy on YT?
The big question is when will you buy a house on a greek island? Would be an awesome show
I m Greek and I ve been in 5 Greek islands!! Omg...
Hi Gabriel, That's the drawback of using a bike flat tire or after riding for a while tire and brake replacement tightening spokes which get banged up riding on hard terrain. Maintenance of the bike is an issue whereas renting a bike you're just concerned with riding it only. The benefit is the fitness you get out of it, and it does allow you to travel far and is more cost-effective for saving money compared to a car. Renting a scooter is a terrific way of getting around great on gas and better to rent than a motorcycle or car, especially on these small islands.
The bird seems to be partridge.
First I think!! Haha Cheers Gabe!!
Boom, got it.
you did it
@Posey12345 Yes haha 😄
Good for you.
Hi Gabe, thank you for sharing . Chaos
No problem, thanks for watching.
A small tip: If you are not sure how to stress the Greek words you are reading (or even sometimes the transliterated ones). It's very easy. Just look where the tones are ( ί, ή, ό, ώ, ά, έ, ού, etc.) in the Greek words.
For example the town sign @18:12 :
Αγία Παρασκευή
Αγ *ί* α Παρασκευ *ή*
Agia Paraskevi
Ag *i* a Paraskev *i*
Interesting, good to know.
ΕΝΟΙΚΙΆΖΕΤΑΙ (eneekeeazete) means "for rent"
I see, good to know. So google translate is wrong, because when I checked there it said that it means it's rented.
Did he take you to the Blue Cave ?? 💙💚💙
We went to a cave that was right near the restaurant, not sure of the name. You'll see it in the next video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos the one i'm writing is called the Bekiri's cave and you can swim into it, but i'm going to watch the next video anyway. ✌💙
No spiders
Those mopeds need silencers 😂
Anyone know that popular fragrance that you can smell all the time around Mykanos and Santorini?
Maybe gardenia?
Hello Gabriel, do they let you rent a 125 cc scooter if you have had a car license (b license for us Europeans) for 6 years and is over the age of 27? I've been reading about new rules introduced that sound great for us tourists.
I'm not certain of the specific rules. I just try to rent a scooter and sometimes they let me and sometimes they don't. On other islands they wouldn't rent me one.
Hey Gabe! Which greek islands are your favorite?
czcams.com/video/MMS0bTczScU/video.html
Hi Gabriel nice video. Do you or anyone else know why the bottom of some trees are whitewashed in Greece? I've heard various theories but no-one seems to be in agreement.
The white "paint" you see all over Greece is not just a paint it's white lime. It keeps everything clean, and it prevents earth worms of walking on the trees eating the fruit the leaves etc. It also prevents the grass to grow between stones on the streets and side ways that's why they paint them around the edges. (At least that was the original target, now days many people do it for decoration or because it's traditional.)
@@eleniasimop Thanks for the explanation.
Great greek adventures as always, interesting caves, Shame you missed many like this in Malta , its great alone, But sometimes you need someone to show you hidden places
Is this a re-upload?
No, see the comment explaining at the top. You'll see it's different as you watch through the video. ✌️
Μπράβο Γκάμπριελ
I know you have bandwidth limitations abroad, but I would love to see your content in 4K.
I would be losing count by 40th island!
I wonder if that bird was a partridge?
is a rock partridge (alectoris graeca) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_partridge
Seems like it is but it was behaving like a pigeon...
@@Roger_Jack it might be in love (or in debt) LOL
🌴🌴< < < I TAKE IT THEY RENT QUADS THERE AS WELL? ANY IDEA HOW MUCH ? 🌴🌴
Have you done thassos
No, haven't been there yet.
Deja vue?
Yep. See the comment I pinned at the top for an explanation.
Isn't that something you catch at the hospital or am i saying it wrong ;)
Given the choice, I'd rather have spetses than sepsis. 😛
Hey Brother❤
South Europe is starting to develop monsoons due to global warming that's the reason you were wondering why the rains in june
I’m confused. Lots of the clips here are the same as the last video….
See the comment pinned at the top explaining.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Ah I missed that sorry man.
Forth.
It would be nice to see you walk through some of the villages of the islands you go to. I think a viewer would get a better sense of what the island / place is like…see some local life. Going to the outskirts and treks looks kind of the same after awhile. Thanks for your Greek videos.
Spetses doesn't seem to have any villages. There's the main town and that's basically it. But I will definitely wander through more Greek islands villages, like this one: czcams.com/video/Fjd5ty5hypk/video.html

🎊 🎉
What are your favourite greek islands Gabe? Do you have a favourite?
Santorini, Folegandros, Symi, Milos, Astypalea, Amorgos, Aegina, Kythnos, Patmos are some of my favorites.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Thanks for the reply!
I think you are a greek and you do not know😊
Can you rent a scooter with vehicle license or you need a motorbike licence? does this apply to all the islands?
It's variable, some places will require a motorcycle license and some won't. I don't have one but this time they rented it to me. Other times I have to get a quad or a car. It's completely unpredictable.

Travels to Spetses, rents motorcycle
😂😂 Keep up the good work man!
Coming video: I go back to Hydra, lock up my bike and walk. 😛 (Seriously.)

You must regret not staying in Benidorm 🤣😂

I pay 0.37 $ (30 ₹) to get a flat tire fixed in India for my kid bycle and no waiting time. 😊
Next time I'll fly back to India to get it fixed.
