Sooo pretty!!
Your one hand driving with pack on..well done job!
That water is sooo clear
Mediterranean Greek waters are some of the best in the world...in my opinion better than Bahamas n stuff because it's pretty waters plus a lot more minus sharks and it's fresh water not hot so it actually cools you down
Awesome, more, more Greek island videos please!
I've been circling around Greece for about 15 years and watching videos to boot, and never saw or heard of sharks existing larger than 60 centimeters long
Dokos island 18 people wow, I’ve never heard of that island 😍
A real traveler! 🤠
Good morning Gabriel 🌞!! Why don't you go to Poros ? it's very beautiful island !! I recommend it 🌊🐟
That's where I went at the end of this video. 😛
you should come to Nafplio before you go to the other islands, in a future video you should visit Thasos, Ammouliani and Samothraki thats easy 3 islands in one trip you can rent a car and do them at once
What I really nice looking speedboat and the views of Spetses nice
I love seeing these islands, if I get the opportunity Hydra and Rhodes are at least 2 islands I'd like to visit. Greece in the warmer months looks fabulous!
Can't wait to see this one as usual Gabe 👍🇬🇷
So happy you decided to tour the other side. What amazing waters! Gabriel we just love your style of travel…laidback it will happen when it’s meant to be. We should all consider this philosophy. ~Cara 😊
After following your channel for so long I'd say that Hydra and Symi are the top of my list of Greek islands to visit. Probably about 10 islands then come as a close third place for me. Have fun!
If you like Symi you will also like Chalki just a short boat ride from Rhodes. Another equally beautiful island is Kastelorizo. Monevasia town is very similar to Hydra. The three places that I mentioned are also cheaper and less touristy.
@@kostasg7109 Thank you Kostas!
Also, 83% of the country is actually a peninsula. It has a coast too.
Wow I'm glad that you went back to Hydra! Poros looks like it's going to be beautiful to explore!
Amazing place 🏝👍😁
😍😎
My guy Gabriël is living the dream 🏝️🇬🇷
What a view from your hotel room in Poros! Worth the $105 that you're paying.
Anyone here been to Thassos? Gabe great vlogs, its our dinner watch. Best you tuber for travel.
Love the shirt . I would definitely get one .
Nice to go back through the town on Hydra. Very cool place
Just found your channel and it’s super exciting! Great vlogs!
Great, glad to hear it. ✌️
I like that you always have the "write-off" food shot :D
Great camera work and comments. Great to see you having fun ! Quality content, enjoyed the video a lot. Thank you. 🙏
Wise decision Gabe !!! p.s. you don't need the silly low fat stuff😂 we don't have shark problems here, swimm fearlessy!👋✌💙🏖
You travel with so much gear !
To think that I travel with a 30 litre backpack. I feel like even that weighs me down more than I’d be happy to carry around.
Was thinking the same. Seems like a nuisance to have all those bags!
It's a bit of a nuisance to carry, but once you drop it at your hotel it's good to have stuff. Separate video coming next about what I'm carrying.
In my experience if you buy a drink and a snack at a café, the establishment would be more than happy to keep a backpack for a few hours. They're usually very accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to ask.
@@davidjames3787
It’s the point of having to ask every time though. I just want to be able to wonder around, hike, go wherever with luggage that isn’t weighing me down.
@@davidjames3787 Hotel is the first choice -- almost all will hold on to the bag. Restaurant a good second option.
Hi Gabriel, a beautiful day for traveling and enjoying the water that was crystal clear, nice to get a swim in and relax before you go to another island. My first impression is Poros looks larger and more to see there on Poros.
Wild shirt man! You're in short-sleeves while Tahoe is 53° this afternoon
Gabriel, I love your videos…👍
Great to see you rolling on there and that everything is going fine. Nice videos for my lunch breaks at work. 🙂
It looks better now Hydra with the sunshine compare to a few days with the cloudy weather
Weather is looking better all over Greece, seems like the summer has finally begun.
Hey Gabriel, Im sure you might have thought about it. The Hotel you stayed at would have probably held your stuff for you, they usually do that when you have stayed there before. Unless of course it was too far or they weren’t available. Just a thought, Ive done it a few times while in Greece! 👍🏻
I am looking forward to your northern european country trip, there is so much to explore. Great plan ✌️
Gabriel u r the real Top G!
Have you visited Kea & Tinos? Both charming. Tinos is world-renowned for the miraculous icon of Panayia. There are lovely beaches also.
I haven't been to either one yet. Kea was actually the island that I was planning to go to first on this trip, but I discovered that there are no direct ferries there from Piraeus and I didn't want to take my bicycle to the other port. Maybe on my way back, we'll see.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos nice. Wherever you travel to, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Hi Gab, be aware of sharks. Last week one ate a tourist in Hurgada Egipt.
I discussed that at 22:15 in the video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosOh sorry, I skipped that part.
If you have as much luck with ferries as you do with bikes you'd miss both ferries 🤣
Yeah mate, i totally agree with you. There's nothing worse than seeing the local gargage dump on a cloudy day.😢😢😢
I don't do too much long term travel but I'll usually take a small back pack as a personal item for week long trips with a few changes of clothes and I'll do laundry once if need be. Airlines charge more than the flight sometime for bags
Hi Gabriel! I watch all your videos, they are very cool. Super that you show the good and bad things on the islands. I like your info on hotels and food prices to. I like greece as well. I've been on Corfu, Kefalonia, Rhodos, Kos and Krete so far. Rhodos is the best. Maybe this summer I'll go to some greek island with my familly. Havent decided yet. Can't wait 4 another video. Take care.
Now that's fab accommodation for the next couple of days! QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU TAKE IN YOUR BACKPACK WHEN JOURNEYING FOR LENGTHY TIME? ALSO HAVE YOU EVER GOT REALLY ILL, FOOD POISONING ETC, AND WHAT DID YOU DO ABOUT IT IN FOREIGN COUNTRY? Thanks Gabe
I will talk a little more about what's in my backpack in the next video, or see here: czcams.com/video/4WugSFKM_xc/video.html
I wish I could teleport to the island now:)
rock on
Shocking room prices Gabe but it's that time of the year mate
Agree, seems to be more expensive than it used to be. What are your summer travel plans, staying in the UK or heading out?
I totally understand and think it’s very cool that hydra has no vehicles from a pollution and noise standpoint but to go as far as not allowing bicycles is kind of a joke imo lol they make very little to no noise are extremely easy to store away inside houses and storage sheds or whatever else at peoples homes and businesses and they promote a healthy active lifestyle. I think it should be changed to no “motorized” vehicles and call it a day lol just my thoughts 😊
I can't tell you how nice it is to just roll by the apocalypse @25:28 🌲😎🌲. Somewhere on these islands someone is restoring the original vegetation on the degraded lands, bringing back the pre-population trees and water. I'm looking for them now because I've still got time enough to see taller trees like Alan Watson Featherstone does. Maybe nap in the shade after eating meals of fish and pine nuts too. Thanks for the inspiration.
Good morning from Arizona.100 degrees today.
Why so much luggage ?
Gabriel, have you thought of visiting the island of Icaria? Where some of the oldest people in the world live, in the famous Blue Zone, many people live over 100 year’s old. Ian and Ana have a great vlog of the island 😊
I went there last year, really liked it: www.youtube.com/@GabrielTravelerVideos/search?query=Ikaria
Been watching Gabe for many years now and I don’t think he’s ever managed to film his phone screen on focus. Not even once!😅
Next week me and some friends have rented a sailboat. We are going from Athens to Naxos and back again. Any suggestions for stops on the way?
Kythnos and Paros are both very nice. And maybe stop at the ancient ruins of Delos, next to Mykonos. Not sure if you can go there with a private sailboat though, might have to stop at Mykonos, which is of course ultra touristy and expensive, but still nice if you can afford it. And now is the best time to go, before the summer rush in July and August.
I have a collapsible bike that can be put in a bag. That would be the ideal one to sneak through the town without disrespecting the ideals of Hydra. Downside is that it rather small, so not exactly optimal for longer trips. 🚲
There are dangerous sharks in the Mediterranean. They believe between sicily and malta is where great white shark's give birth. They caught a huge one in Malta in the 1980's. Loving the island hopping. I miss the med.
There are dangerous sharks in all major sea and oceans :) but attacks are still very very rare.
❤ nice boat ❤ saludos ❤
dank
Hi Gabriel. You may want to check out Elefsina(Eleusis) located near Athens. It’s one of the Cultural cities of Europe for 2023. Lots of amazing antiquities!
Looks interesting.
We love your videos!
It's close to the harbour of pireaos
Great video, one suggestion. You could have left your backpack in any cafe or restaurant or even hotel in the port area, from past experience they would be more than happy to hold it in a safe place until you return for a small tip
Yes, I mentioned that as one of the three options. Decided to take it since I didn't plan to walk far. ✌️
Great! Have fun in Poros island! It where I had my Navy boot training. I would be tempted to reach Athens via the mainland that is extremely close. Explore Methana and ancient Epidaurus. From what I ve read you can carry the bike in the luggage compartment of the bus to Athens if you lower the seat.
I had an interesting experience, shall we say, taking my bike on the bus in 2009 from Athens to Volos to visit the Pelion peninsula. The driver went absolutely bonkers, threw a huge fit in front of dozens of people, finally relented and threw my bike into the compartment under the bus. I'm sure they aren't all like that.
I am sorry you had to experience this. Then ferry to Piraeus and from there to the Cyclades sounds like the best plan. You can explore the mainland another time
No biggie, it all worked out in the end and it's a story to tell. But whenever I go to the mainland next I will plan to go without the bike anyway, because I will plan to rent a car so that I have total freedom. And today I did exactly what you mentioned, ferry back to Piraeus and then to the Cyclades.
I remember you commenting in a bit more detail about which Greek islands are nicer and which are more okayish in one of your videos (but I have forgotten which one). Can you point me which video that is?
*2nd my friend. 🤭💗*
😊
You actually got first, because first didn't claim it. 👍😊
food seems rather expensive is ther any cheap eats ?
top
Hadn't heard much about Hydra before, but your videos have it on our list for when we travel to Greece next spring! As always, such great info and interesting visuals :)
Quick question, as you often travel spontaneously to different countries... have you ever had issues at immigration with no documentation of onward travel or do you just purchase a ticket (plane/bus/train) and cancel if you feel like changing the plan? Happy Travels!!
It depends on the country, but if I'm unsure then I'll look online and see if they require an onward ticket. Not many countries require one. Australia does officially, so I had one when I entered Australia, but they didn't ask for it. Philippines, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Colombia are some countries that require it, so I made sure that I'd purchased another flight before entering. It's not a big deal because if it turns out that one is required you can just buy one online on the spot. If you're unsure where you plan to go then just buy the cheapest flight out of the country, doesn't mean you have to take it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks so much for your input! Will plan on doing the last min booking if they ask, good point. Safe travels!
Come to Crete. Let me know if you come anywhere near Heraklion! I m willing to be a guide for free. I have some of the nicest places and ideas for a great vlog! I will have a couple of weeks spare time. Please.lete know if you like the idea. I can provide address and my pages.
👍👍👍
Hey Gabriel is Greece your No. 1 favorite country ?
czcams.com/video/9hR1Lc62onA/video.html
Stunning water
I am loving your island hopping I am so jealous 😎👍
Excellent. I hope you can go sometime.
so it's preposterous to even mention it
Yesterday I saw in the news ex us President Obama and actor Tom hanks dined at night at kastro sifnos island that you visited last September, maybe they saw your video!
Whoa, cool. Tom Hanks has a house on Antiparos island, so it's his neighborhood.
💃
That dinner for 16 € is the normal Greek prise.
They probably just call it a salad.
The Greek salad is called a "village salad" in Greek.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos The "village salad" looks delicious. I bet the olives are supreme!!
It's all about the feta and olives.
if u starts singing moma mia i well delete u lmao
Welcome to Greece.
I’ll be there in 11 weeks. Can’t wait 😊
Sweet. 👍😎
There are sharks in greece for sure 👁 So Gab collect islands ok. But if you want to visit Hydra keep in mind that you need a Taxi-boat if you want to visit one of the main attractions of the islands. I think it was to expensive for Gab... Good choice to take Askeli Beach on Poros. But again 96 Euros way to much. There are Appartments for 25 Euros and even Hotels for 50 Euros available. I guess you are sponsored?! Speeking of a good Hotel go to the blue sirene hotel at the end of the bay 🤡
Third 😃✌️
First?
Waaaay too many details!
I think is worst to use HORSES, than a Bike as a transportation method, Because that is animal abuse.
Gabriel there are 1000's of deadly sharks in Greece. If bitten you won't survive and thus unable to report it. These sharks are beautiful women from all over the world!!!
Blah Blah Blah !!! What are you drunk ? We've heard your story about the Great Island of Hydra with no cars Allowed ! Get on with the interesting content not your constant Repeating yourself !
I'm shivering on my living room in late June in Bend Oregon and your fucking swimming in crystal clear blue water. I think the ice age started. It's not gonna get above 75 for the next 10 days in Bend.
IT FUCKING SNOWED IN BEND THIS MORNING. MY HEAT IS GOING ON. I CANT BELEIVE IT.
Whoa, that's pretty wild for mid June. Hopefully summer arrives by next month at least.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I think I'm gonna go look for places in vegas
Hi Gabe inboxed u on messanger
