    My father had polycythemia vera. It is a SUPER SLOW cancer. When my father was diagnosed 30ish years ago, it was called a pre-cancer. We don't even know that he died from that, and he'd had that or polycythemia (preceding it) for over 25 years. He died over a bunch of his systems just slowly shutting down over a period of 3 years, and they just called it "failure to thrive" as a placeholder for a specific diagnosis -- and they tested for a LOT of stuff.
    If the doctor didn't TELL Boogie he has cancer, I don't think he actually does. I think he has the genetic marker where he MIGHT get it some day. And even if he DOES have it, the treatment for my dad was to literally take a pill and monitor it -- for DECADES.
    The blood letting is for normal polycythemia -- which is too much red blood cells. That's NOT cancer, and you can do the blood letting at a blood donation center and it's free. (Again, I know this from my father's situation, the doctors, etc).
    My sister has the genetic marker for polycythemia vera. She made me promise to mention it to my doctor, and my doctor and I agreed to have him list that as something to keep an eye on -- but NOT to do the test UNLESS I actually get a rising indicator in my blood tests to indicate polycythemia (which tends to come first) might be taking off. I'm 65 -- if I have to get a cancer, I'd FAR rather get that than any other cancer I'm aware of, as the timeline and the treatment would be a LOT better than any other cancer I'm aware of. The genetic test for it is expensive, so my doctor and I didn't even see it as AT ALL worth it if I'm asymptomatic. (OTOH, I never tried to make money via the internet in any way except managing my financial accounts).
    So IMO, he doesn't have an actual DIAGNOSIS without a CONFIRMATION (that's why they CONFIRM serious test results BEFORE giving an actual diagnosis). Boogie is a drama queen and basically, a liar. He should be ashamed.
    So as someone who has this stuff IN MY FAMILY, and so am likely at risk for it myself, that kind of behavior really pisses me off.

      @resplndnt Před 22 dny +4

      Also with issues that could be the result of cancer, they need to eliminate the possibility of other causes like that scene in “saved!” Where mary sees a lifetime movie and hears valarie burtonelli describe what could be the signs of pregnancy but can also be associated with cancer

    • @Buddy330
      @Buddy330 Před 22 dny +7

      There's also the issue that you don't make cancer diagnoses off of blood work alone. Blood work simply shows you theres a problem. You investigate further from there to figure out what's causing the problem. Blood work alone is not enough for a diagnosis and no doctor would actually do that.

    • @resplndnt
      @resplndnt Před 22 dny +5

      @@Buddy330and biopsying blood is not expensive. It’s under $1000. It’s not like a liver biopsy. Doctors tend to biopsy most things they have to take out of a person. I had a cyst in my lip over a decade ago and it was biopsied to make sure it wasn’t cancerous

    Okay I'm in the medical field, polycythemia vera is a very slow progressing cancer and it's almost always nearly 100% diagnosed with a simple blood test marker called JAK2, if you have a positive JAK2 mutation you're almost guaranteed to have polycythemia vera, if he just could show a positive JAK2 test this conversation would be over, bone marrow biopsy is performed to see how much this disease has progressed he's lying through his teeth ...

    Here's what probably happened based on how Boogie tends to lie. Boogie got bloodwork done, his doctor saw he had an elevated red blood cell count and told him he had polycythemia, his doctor told him this could be caused by polycythemia vera which is the cancer version or it could be caused by secondary polycythemia from his sleep apnea and testosterone injections, his doctor ordered sleep study done and more blood tests to determine which version is causing the high red blood cell count.
    Boogie probably never got confirmation one way or the other because the bone marrow biopsy was too expensive. So the doctor said "look, we don't know for sure what the cause is, but let's treat the symptoms anyway". So they went forward with treating his high red blood cell count despite having no confirmation of the cause since the treatments are the same for both versions of polycythemia. Blood thinners, blood withdrawals, and blood letting.
    That's where the truth ends and Boogie's lies begin. He felt like because in his mind he probably had the cancer version, that meant it was okay for him to state it as a fact. That's why he couldn't show the diagnosis for polycythemia vera because he never was diagnosed so there was nothing on his medical portal to show. There's probably a good chance he has polycythemia vera. So the bigger lie is actually him claiming he got a diagnosis when he never did.
    So he's in a difficult position because he could get the bone marrow test done and it very well could show he has polycythemia vera. But the problem would be it would show the date of the diagnosis as 2024 which would show he lied in 2022. His best bet and the most likely thing he'll do is pretend that he misunderstood what his doctor told him back in 2022 and claim he mistakenly believed he had been diagnosed with cancer when in actuality the doctor said they would be treating his red blood cell count assuming he had the cancer version without confirming it since the treatments for secondary polycythemia and the cancer polycythemia vera are the same . But again, he lied himself into a corner by stating on the livestream that he was looking at the diagnosis page on his medical portal and claimed it said polycythemia vera.
    I guess admitting you lied about being officially diagnosed isn't as bad as admitting you lied altogether so he'll probably cut his loses and take that out.

As for his treatment, he DEFINITELY, absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt, no matter what kind of cancer he has or may potentially have, didn't receive treatment for it for the past 2 years without his diagnosis being 100% known. I rarely comment on CZcams videos but this popped in my recommendations while traveling and was curious. As a physican, the workup of polycythemia vera (PV) does include a bone marrow biopsy if some non-invasive markers are suspect. This is from ACP guidelines, and of course management should always be tailored to each individual’s experience based upon physician practice and experience and shared decision making.
    Indications for a bone marrow biopsy (BMB) is indicated if initial bloodwork may be borderline normal or if clinical suspicion remains high enough.
    PV is a class of disorders called “myeloproliferative disorders” which is a fancy way of saying certain cell lines (myeloid cells such as platelets, red blood cells, etc) are higher than normal. There are many causes for these cell lines to be elevated, but PV is suspected when clinical history does not correlate with blood work. Blood with is typically aimed at evaluating for genetic mutation (JAK2) as well as testing hormones that are responsible for erythrocyte (red blood cells) production called EPO. All roads for PV do lead to BMB if these tests are either positive or within normal limits, or again when clinical suspicion remains high.
    Typically the course of this disease is benign but can cause vascular complications due to abundance of cell lines. Sometimes, this may progress to another malignancy called “acute myeloid leukemia”. Treatment is involved in reducing the cell production (cytoreduction) especially if patients have had vascular complications such as stroke or heart attacks.
    There is more to this but for brevity, please be kind to one another and have a good day ❤

    Probably no one will see this but I have a big thing to add about boogie that is kinda out of the blue.
    I played Everquest with Boogie in 1999-2001. His character name was Uberwolf. He was a Barbarian Warrior on the Prexus server in Everquest. I only found out many years later that this is who that guy was. I still remember him from when I was playing even though he was not in my guild and I did not interact with him much but I still remember he was a person that was a big point of drama on the server. I have lost most of my memories of that time at this point but one specific instance I can still remember.
    I was in Old Sebilis During the Kunark expansion around the year 2000. Uberwolf (Boogie) was just sitting at the entrance to the zone (in his full blue cobalt armor which was quite appealing to want to group with someone like that as he was very geared out) looking for a group and I believe he was not in a guild at this time after burning bridges with many previous guilds. I don't remember why but I do remember this player was considered toxic on this server. My group needed a Warrior(the only true tank of classic EQ back then) and I wanted to invite him but I was remembering I was told to avoid this guy. I do vaguely remember I did end up grouping with him because I had no other choice at that time and everything went okay but I also remember people asking me what I was doing grouping with that guy.
    Hope you all enjoyed my story and if anyone from Prexus back in that day happens to stumble on this please message me :)

If the underlying conditions are treated ie. the apnea and stopping the TRT if possible the PV will go away since it’s being caused by external factors. If he won’t comply or can’t stop TRT they will give him low dose aspirin the lower the chance of clots and have him donate blood to keep the red cell count down. Secondary PV does not involve bone marrow issues and won’t progress to cancer nor is it cancer on its own. Primary PV is a bone cancer that can eventually progress to more serious conditions but that doesn’t sound like it’s what he has here. And doctors would not wait two years to do a bone marrow biopsy. Among the greater criteria are: high haemoglobin (more than 165 g/L in men, three way hyperplasia of bone marrow and specific genetic mutation.
    Lesser criterion is one and it's lowered erythropoetin (hormone that stimulates the making of red blood cell in the bone marrow).
    To get a diagnosis, you need either 3 greater criteria or the first 2 greater criteria and this one lesser.

    As a doctor who likes to consume bottom-of-the barrel content for years,i instantly knew Boogie was making up the whole diagnosis thing.First of ,while detecting polycythemia vera we look for a gene mutation (JAK2 to be precise) rather than a hormone(hes most likely referring to EPO whos levels can increase due to a myriad of reasons)
    No doctor will make such a blunder of diagnosing polycythemia without checking for the gene mutation,that is literally the centre point of the diagnosis.Hormone levels are non specific contrary to what he said in the interview.
    Perhaps ,hes so stupid he mixed up everything in his head and couldn’t repeat the argument his doctor made to him but in that case he would have just checked it right there on the doctors notes.He’s lying a 100%

    • @philipje1
      @philipje1 Před 22 dny

      I'm a doctor too. Why would he be lying. He could very easily have merged the JAK2V517F mutation and the EPO levels into "hormones", as laymen do. You don't know if he is lying or not, and saying you know for 100% is disingenuine and further adds to this pathetic witch hunt that we are witnessing.
      Destiny is spewing nonsense continuously, saying things like "Are we treating a blood cancer without actually confirming it?", aiming at the bone marrow biopsy and aspiration. Which is, to reiterate, not needed for a PV diagnosis, only when JAK2 is negative, EPO is subnormal, and JAK 2 exon 12 is negative.
      Does Boogie have a record of lying and deceiving? Yes. Does that mean that "he's lying a 100%" like you have said? No, not at all. Sharing medical records with Keemstar, as Destiny suggested, instead of GoFundMe, as Boogie proposed, is another level of absurdity.
