if you read this comment "archeologles" - Hry
should they add a new structure solely for an archeology site??
I would like to see some Handmade Tents in the Overworld or just craters in the floor. But i think that would fit more like a World Decoration Update
Yeah, though I'd only have it in a few biomes, such as the desert or badlands.
I hope they will add a new structure in the badlands.
Yes. Not a dig, but more like an ancient dwellings. Maybe with cave paintings and stone tools.
yes
I think suspicious sand should also generate around bury treasure, around ruins and shipwrecks, and around sand bury fossils.
In mineshafts too
there should also be red sus sand that spawns in mesa
Yeah they should make it so u can find fossil shards to maby
@@KilerZombie_23 red sus sand💀💀💀💀
@@fireblaze7601 yes, the susser sand
It’s cool to see some of the oldest structures in minecraft get an update
I didn’t know your mom got an update.
Savage
Yeah right it'will be great if not then fine but if some new structure get added it would best 😅
@@jackybones5887 really got the whole comment section laughing with that one
@@merr3453 I never said your mom was a funny joke. I said she’s old. It’s rude to make fun of the elderly
They should add a new structure in the badlands where archeology is included.
I really hope that ruins will appear to complement the archeology. It would make biomes much more interesting. 🤔
Would also help new players who don’t know about the archaeology mechanics
Ruined Villages would be neat
imagine if we could craft sus sand and put what ever item we want into it, we could make treasure hunts and make our own dig sites that other people can discover
BRO… now you just have me thinking of custom treasure maps. You know how by clicking a banner with a map, it marks it on the map? What if you could click a chest or sus sand with a map and it could mark it as a treasure map? That would be so cool. I’d absolutely use it too, I love stuff I can do when I play with my friends. I’d love to give them a treasure hunt :)
@@ChestersonJack that would actually be the best thing ever
The archeology right now feels kinda underwhelming, I think it has way more potential. I really hope they add some changes
I feel lime they should have you craft the wet clay pot with 4 clay blocks, then you place the shards on any side and burn the pot to harden it like in the 1.17 reveal. Also i feel like you should find excavation sites at abandoned villages and at jungle temples and up to 11 shards to collect
Why? The new way is so much more efficient and doesn’t require unnecessary waiting.
The suspicious sand creates so many opportunities, one of the best additions for 1.20
true
They should let you use dyes to color each individual shard face and use glow sacs on them so we can personalise them even more
I think the Jungle temple deserve some love on this archeological front, but apart from that a place that i think would be interesting, if not useful, to have acheology sites would be a stronghold.
Think about it, its a freaking whole stronghold hidden in the underground, it would make sense for there to have some remnants of the past in there. edit: Maybe it would be a bit weird because sand wouldn't always make sense in there so maybe sus gravel or dirt? Or some other block, who knows.
You mean like indieana jones
The underwater ruins seems a good place for more archeology.
After all these years, there is finally is a secret room in the desert temples.
Two secret rooms. Everyone just already knew about the first
@@WattlesGiveaway shut
I really hope they add sus and to ocean monuments. I feel like it would be a lot of fun to try and find the armor template that way
The sniffer egg?
It would probably be really hard to check (as items only spawn in naturally generated sus sand), but I wonder if having a sus sand that contains TNT drop and break would result in the TNT exploding? Might make excavating a site more interesting if it did.
ok thatd be awesome & add cool risk
I think the old archaeological system shown in Minecraft Live 2020 was much better than what we have now.
- You could brush off gravel and sand blocks, removing layer by layer.
- The feature was not limited by one biome.
- To craft the pot, you had to assemble the shards with clay and then cook the pot over a fire or in a furnace.
Yeah, this is really disappointing. And there are only 4 different pot symbols.
I think the old one was better just because we'd have ocean ruin sized dig sites scattered throughout the world, rather than a small fraction of that occuring in desert temples. Archaeology was touted as a new mechanic but you can only enjoy it for like 3 minutes.
The most sus sand of all sand 6:01

Thanks for making these vids, there really entertaining and help catch me up on what’s going on with the newest updates and snapshots. Hope you get to 2 mil subs soon!
thank ya!!
Any time!
I like how yall giving your two cents bout archeology being added and where else suspicious sand should be but completely rolling over the fact Wattles said sharting at 1:40
They should add archeology sites
Love it when wattles posts
I hope we will get a new hostile mob "Mummy" exclusive to Pyramid.
Imagine A Mummy suddenly Pop up like a warden on the ground while you're excavating.
Atleast 1 Exclusive Mob for pyramid structure 😭
Just like
-Shulker on End City
-Guardian/Elder Guardian on Ocean Monument.
-Pillagers on Mansion and Outposts
-Silverfish on Stronghold.
The atum mod kind of does that already
Call me crazy, but archeology sites really should be included around ancient cities.
thats a BIG W
~record scratch~
I could have been repairing my bows in the crafting table?!
Really excited to play this update!
It would be cool if Mojang also added suspicious dirt and added dig sites around jungle temples and strongholds, or maybe even in ancient cities.
Love your videos, it helps me out building up the DulmCraft server world! :)
Would love to see them add "Suspicious Gravel" and use it for the Jungle temple. Maybe add some new lower level rooms that ya gotta mine the cobblestone to reveal patches of gravel and "suspicious gravel" beneath.
Suspicious gravel is already in the game if I recall! It’s just in bedrock edition and located in the the little ocean ruins across the seabed. Right now it’s loot tables are the same as the desert temple’s, but with the fact that in the MC live mob vote they said you’d be able to hatch sniffers from eggs found in ocean ruins, it’ll probably have its loot table changed to add the sniffer egg and maybe a few new shards if we’re lucky.
Maybe archeology sites very sparsely in the mesa biome? It’ll add to the desserted/old timey vibes the mesa gives. Especially in conjunction with the mineshafts.
Your the best wattles and don't you think there should be digsigts everywere
I wish there were trimmed armor pieces in the loot pool for the suspicious sand. Like maybe iron or leather ones, so not good, but you could find a combination you'd never have made yourself maybe, esp on dyed leather armor
i think different types of sus sand (like gravel, dirt, stone, etc) would be cool and maybe help add archaeology to other structures, like gravel/stone for the jungle temple.
also tmr better be a survival episode or i swear-
Gotta love those "decorativw pots"
Fun fact ! You can CTRL + Middle Mouse Click on naturally generated suspicious sand to get the sand with the NBT data. If you place it it will have the block.
The ruined villages would be so cool with suspicious sand
5:25 - Oh please, PLEASE Mojang, don't make another unpaired feature between Java and Bedrock.
It's great video wattles it's so su good bro
🫡
Definitely want more to dig up. Even a new "dig site" in roofed forest or something. A big ol spot to dig
It would be nice to have dig sites in the end, like sus endstone, we could make a story about how end citys were built, and who built them
I can’t help but laugh each time I hear “sharding” 😂
Jungle temples for sure. It would fit perfectly in with the ancient theme.
15:27 definitely Jungle Temples. The block you brush away could be coarse dirt or gravel.
FYI, in archaeology, a piece of broken pottery is called "sherd"
I was really looking forward to using the brushing mechanic to change dirt and gravel blocks layer by layer around my base. It would have been an awesome way to customize the terrain and to spawn proof areas without light. Oh well, I'm still excited about archaeology!
Yeah, they never planned to have it permanently change the terrain. Even back in the old MC live days when it was first revealed they said that if you stop brushing while a block is half broken it would just break.
Rip string pickaxe, you won't be missed.
4:59 there are ways to get it as a item in survival. if it drops on water or a pot you can collect it
feel like Quicksand would've been a good addition with this as a sort of desert update
HI!!!!!!! Can you make a video of BETTER SNIFFER IDEAS??
And new archaeology sites
it’d be cool to see a red suspicous sand block in the badlands biome. i feel like archeology would have been such a good fit for the badlands
2 questions:
1 have you tried a looting offhand while brushing?
2 if you put an item in the center of the 4 shards will that item be inside the pot and pop out when you break it?
Add archeology to the jungle temple. Rare drop is 1 of 3 pieces to craft an obsidian pickaxe or obsidian axe. Same durability as diamond but cant enchant.
Add same for desert temple except for copper pick or axe.
These items can only be crafted from these archeology shards.
In the parts of the video where you show the potential loot for each excavation area, how did you lay the items on the table like you did? The items are all laying on the table without item frames, which seems impossible. I'd love to learn this trick to use for decoration!
It would be cool to be able to put stuff in the pots. Like emeralds, would be cool for doing zelda stuff
there needs to be a luck enchant book that you can only get by digging and adds better items to the loot table as well as a chance to get a higher level enchant book. it would add more reasons to explore these dig sites as they would get more valuable over time.
High-valued archeology loot in the ocean would definitely give us a reason to explore the seabed more.
YAY WATTLES
The new feather copper sword looking good
I hope your happy knowing you made me think there was more to tear room😂
It'd be cool if suspicious sand (and hopefully in the future other sus blocks) generated every so often around the environment, without any structures..
like a tiny lil thing to do on your way to wherever you're going, where you otherwise mightve just been pressing W and Spacebar. im picturing something almost like burried metal chests in BOTW
Plus carrying around a tool taking up a precious inventory slot would be less of a hit, cuz finding structures isn't a guarentee
I think a really cool place to put sus sand/gravel would be the abandoned villages! In case you didn’t know, there’s a rare chance for a village to spawn as an abandoned village: filled with zombie villagers and cobwebs. Maybe the old gravel paths of the village could have artifacts stored within them. They could have a high chance of emeralds and more village oriented shards (villager faces, emeralds, depictions of the danger of pillagers, ect). Seeing a deserted village is already uncanny enough with it being filled with cobwebs and zombies, but being able to dig up their ancient history from the very gravel paths the used to tread on would be that extra bit of heartbreaking. But there’s one contradiction: villages don’t have gravel as paths anymore, they have dirt paths. So I am suggesting that the deserted villages get changed so that they take the shape of the old villages pre village and pillage. This would be an awesome nostalgic callback and would imply that the new villages were created after or because the old ones were overrun.
I hope they will add the option to put items in the pots that you can only get out of the pots by breaking them.
2:44
Lol the animation feels like you just tickle the block XD
Can you use silk touch to mine the sus sand later?
I've said it before and I'll say it again,
Jungle Temples, Ocean Ruins, Mineshafts and maybe new secret rooms for woodland mansions or even the ancient cities
Honestly I see archeology being added all over, from badlands mineshafts to jungle temples, they would have to make sus dirt or other blocks but it would make exploration a lot better IMO
Wattles uploads and I watch be like me
They should add exposed fossils with like a bunch of sus sand that would be so cool to find
But how abt using silktouch on brush and what happens if you mine the pots with silk
They should make suspicious soil for around the jungle temples.
I think they should make it where you can drop items on it and it sucks it up like a hopper but you have to break it to get the items
Jungle Temple... The place has been forgotten for a while.
Also, what about atlantian loot in the guardian temples? That would fit with the current feel of the temples... Loot would have to include Trident-pattern pots, prismarine and a rare heart of the sea?
Thanks! How to I message?
I think they should add a whip, like Indiana Jones theme, to traverse chasms, mountains. And snakes. Maybe some traps too.
No
Please?
@@timmypanic ok fine but I’m not mojang
No
This is really cool im an archaeologist and love minecraft
I think we should get some excavation sites in the Nether. Having some archeology added to this dimension can add more to the Minecraft lore
Day 5 of commenting: I think I thought up a good name for the update. So while I was thinking in the shower I thought up a new name: Fable and Flora. Fables are like stories which is literally said by Kingbdogs to be the theme for the update and a lot of things have a story aspect to them like: Archaeology, the sniffer, new bookshelf’s, signs and kinda armour trims(make your own story of how you got them) and flora is like plants and stuff so cherry blossom, sniffer plants, bamboo stuff kinda. Anyway I hope you see this.(you could also make it the other way round Flora and Fable idk which sounds better).
i think putting sus soul sand around portals, sus mud around witch huts, and sus dirt around jungle temples would make archeology much cooler and add more opportunities for it to be found/utilized
will i need to do anything to get this to generate in an existing world or do i need to start over?
they generate in places you haven’t traveled to
They should do more with the side towers of the desert pyramid like an excavated lower level or something 🤔
I could see this coming to an abandoned dessert village variant.
omg yes pls
They should make the secret room the entrance to a maze
Hello wattles
Ocean ruins and jungle temples need archeology
We should be able to use the brush on cats and dogs for special emotes from our pets
The ancient cities would be so cool with archeology loot! They're literally begging to be included
The jungle temple could use some TLC.
I like the new brush and room in temple but for everything else i much prefer the original from 2020
i believe the desert wells will spawn somewhere in the area of desert villages
It' would be awesome if they added a new dimension
I feel like the old concept we saw of archeology is better than the new one
I was excited for this update but I can’t find any digsites lol
is it possible to do it in creative and mobile minecraft?
Add archeology to zombie/abandoned villages next
mojang missed a big opportunity to make the silhouettes on the pot shards old items like the rose
omg youre genius
i really hope they update the textures on the pots soon. the old designs were so much better!!! even if they dont do the colors i think the overall shape of the old design was better. this looks like a shotty mod made in 5 minutes
My boy and I are having trouble finding the 1.20 experimental features / preview on PS4 BR Edition.
Is it even available on the consoles yet?
Tried everything and there’s no brush, no sniffer.....nothing.
Its not on ps as ps doesn't support game beta versions they are fixing this in the future with minecraft preview though
Can efficiency v can speed up the brushing?
they should add suspicious sand to the underground ribcage structure so it looks like we are unearthing a dinosaur skeleton
can you stack blank pots?
You should be able to hide stuff in sand changing it into sand
I'd like to see another unique treasure to get from archeology. Honestly, pots aren't that cool. If they let pots stay with the desert but had something else for jungle/other biomes that would be nice.
nice vid
