I love how “little European Texas” was a joke about the rearming of Poland, but it can also easily apply to how Poland has a VERY long history of being anti-authoritarian and one of the first republics in that part of the world where you could live how you wanted. It was putting the ideas of libertarianism into practice 200 years before America even existed.
I mean, only the nobles could vote in that "republic", which was 5-10% of the population depending on the exact time. And of those nobles, the vast majority was being bribed by one of several insanely rich magnates to do as they were told. And even then, nothing EVER would get done because even a SINGLE vote against meant that the legistlation was dead (liberum veto). Now consider that there was a LOT of "nobles" who were homeless men with sabers (a symbol of nobility) and how easy they were to bribe by outside forces. The country stagnated, peasants (80-90% of the population) were literally property and were often treated like animals, while cities were small and not really numerous on comparison to the rest of Europe. King's only role was to bribe nobles with extra rights and priviledges in exchange for their support. In the end, 40% of the royal treasury's income was from a SINGLE Salt mine, because cities were small and not wealthy, while nobles did not pay taxes because of course they didn't. The state was a bunch of Oligarchs and their bootlickers doing their own thing with no real oversight and a ceremonial king. It was literally HRE political mess on steroids.

Slovakia isn't in the balkans so it'll be fine, we won't be having trench warfare and pictures of utterly devastated towns and forests in Europe anytime soon. ... Uh. Wait.
Just a little correction: Unlike the US, Slovakia doesn't have a 2-party system, so economic policies (right, left) don't correlate with social policies (progressive, conservative). He's on the economic left but conservative, anti-LGBT, etc.
I imagine it's like this in most of Post-Commie Central Europe. In Poland the two main parties are ideologically liberal and conservative but Both buy votes with social policies.
To be fair, Westminster systems often end up becoming de facto two or three party systems, as the with the UK or Canada. Also technically the US technically isn’t a two party system either, as other parties are allowed to both exist and run for elections after meeting the parameters to do so, it’s just that both elections work and history has worked in the US has consistently cussed it to be de facto two parties of one type or another.

As a former F22 crew cheif and now F35 crew cheif I can confirm the voices and all that is said by those two aircraft are 102% accurate
why u got downgrade? or u forgot where are keys to f22 hangar?
F-22 suddenly starts going Mach 12.
Everyone: How is that possible?
Air Force: He took physics behind the hangar, kicked its ass, and took its lunch money.
that or
Air Force: So he found out about the limiter software and convinced the techs to jailbreak him.
Poor F-22...
Still locked away.
SET HIM FREE, DAMN IT!
You’re welcome. From Canada.
“ANd ThEn… HE WIl BE MIne 👹”
Loved the grunty voice
When Poland was stealing the episode but then Canada rolls out with “it’s not a war crime if there’s no record of it” hahahaha that’s the best!
(not exact quote)
"... lethality of a f$%^ing confetti cannon!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That Franz Ferdinand bit hit home when we realize that Slovakia was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. About the time that Princip bumped of Franz an' Soohie .
I can’t help but laugh at this stuff lol I appreciate you. The comic relief is much needed Sir.
Gotta love that Canadian hospitality!🇨🇦
Boy. The kid is getting real American real quick. America won't let him fight, so he's trying to fight anyone and everyone
I absolutely 100% made the Franz Ferdinand reference immediately after hearing about it. Just like you, not sure how this will age, but I'm just very glad he's considered stable condition.
Canada heard “Franz Ferdinand” and got excited
We love our canadian hush oil
22 coming in hot with the attitude on my son’s 22nd birthday! Love it! 🎉 And this is why he wanted a 22 t-shirt for his birthday this year. Unfortunately, he has vowed to speak like 22 every day for the next year. 🤣😫 Save me, Grandpa Buff!
I love the kid. I love his character so much.
Man, he is romantic as well. 😄
"Little European Texas" got a great laugh from me as a Texan. Sidenote, I heard Tank sales have gone up in our state so that's funny too. Wonder if you'll mention that, or at least double check. Dunno how much is propaganda these days.
We ordered 250x M1A2 SEPv3 (I have no idea what's the purchase value) and got 116x of M1A1 FEP as a friendly gift from the US (as a replacement for 220 T-72s and 60 PT-91 for Ukraine). We also picked the most modern ammo from you (1.5 billion I guess) and lots of other stuff.
The confetti cannon got me
I too had a Sarajevo thought when hearing about Slovakia
Is his last name, "Bush?" 🙃
@@HubiKoshi Well the thing is that most conservative party in Europe would be considered as dirty socialsts by both parties in US
And it's the whole having your cake and trying to eat it too that got him to feel holey
Every day I watch these and every day I get a good little chuckle in. I do wish they would let the kid in tho. It feels like a huge slap to my mom's face and she was apart of the YF22 project when she worked for Lockheed Martin. Put the kid in!!! He's ready Coach!!!
As a Canadian, I love your Canadian accent
Love the videos man. Also my “Don’t touch the boats” shirt just got here. It’s absolutely wonderful 👍
European Texas. Lol. In the late 80s I worked with a guy from Poland. Andre was a solid guy; humorous, hard worker, competent and following the american dream - he escaped from commie Poland before the fall of the Ruskies. He arrived in the US in Texas and always spoke English with a Texan accent with a Polish twist on it. He said he did that on purpose cuz we natives always got a kick out it. God bless America.
These videos make me proud of my Polish heritage.
Western Europe really going the WW1 route huh
Slovakia is pretty firmly in Eastern Europe.
No I don't want to start a 2 front war, just to avoid a 2 front war.
@@RaptorJesus its central europe not eastern
@@ePiiCeaglepwner it's Eastern Europe. Central Europe ends at Czech Republic.
@@minecraftfox4384I mean Slovakia and the Czech Republic used to be one country so I mean it's on the line between central and eastern Europe.
I love Poland. He's got the right spirit!
love how the kids willing to even go out and fight physics
The kid is the only one who could possibly beat physics. LET HIM EAT.
Don't worry, little Raptor. You're the GOAT in DCS World...
According to the news, the man who shot the Slovakian prime minister is a local Slovakian writer and poet who isn’t affiliated with anyone, any group, or any other country, he just heavily disagrees with how said prime minister’s rhetoric against “liberal media” and certain journalists. In other words, he (so far) does not appear to be an assassin sent in by some other country to do their dirty work
he's said to be supportive of some russian like seperatist group in slovakia
Sleepers are a special breed. ;-)
He was a vocal supporter of a now disbanded pro-Russian paramilitary "Slovenskí Branci".
@@zahnatom In past he was part of paramilitary pro-russian organization, but from what I found on internet, he disasociated with them quite a while ago and in recent times he publicaly speaked against all the bullshit that Russia is doing
And yet a Slovakian member of the media interviewed on TVP world was saying he was aligned with "Nazis". Russia just doesn't let up with it.
Poland is becoming my favorite character. Nice work HLC!
The kid really ties these skits together dude.
Poland has a little drool on the corner of his mouth, and Canada stopped ordering Chinese takeout.
That Spree For Three is getting closer...
As a hungarian, I hope to god Orbán follows in his footsteps...
As your neighbor to the East (Romanian), I hope so too.
Ive read up on Orban and his collusion with Putin, how has he stayed in power for so long
Orban is too well *armoured* he wouldn't even feel a shot to the abdomen.
Besides not wanting his country turned into an economic puppet of Germany, what's he done? Or do you like Hungarian businesses failing so German ones can scoop up the scraps and keep Hungarians poor and desolate.
@@wardog5537 Because his only real opposition in the country swings way too far in the other direction and barely even hides that their only political agenda is contempt for the masses that vote for Orban and hollow promises that becoming a good little EU bootlick is totally going to make things better for the regular people and not just the pro-EU politicians and German businessmen.
"How about you unlock that hangar door, and me and that physics character go have a conversation". Saw that one coming, still laughed.
Your welcome grandpa buff , from this canadian it's always nice to know your up there...
Slovak here - you nailed the accent, we call it Slovenglish :D
First thing I thought of was the shooting of archduke Ferdinand.
“Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”. Well, if this ends up going tits up, we’ve learned nothing.
@@UchihaPercy I don't think we ever will
We 🇨🇦 love you too Buff😘
Your intellectual humor always cracks me up! Thanks for your service and keep up the good work!
As a generally left-leaning fellow, I really appreciate your recognition of the head-scratching pro russia sentiments and actions of GOP and their support. I'm happy to peacefully discuss different viewpoints and opinions, and defend our right to say them, but I'm worried some of our leadership and propaganda lovers are lost or compromised.
The gop, the ones who didn’t take the muller report seriously are the same ones falling for Putin disinformation guys and praising/helping Putin and getting his money….
Did someone go back in time and change something?! This timeline is seriously strange
I’m willing to bet most of the “pro-Russia sentiment” is a mix of the media trying to smear isolationist republicans/conservatives and reactionaries seeing that smearing and saying “if the media says these other republicans are doing it and they media says it’s bad, it must actually be a good thing”, as well as a few genuinely anti-Ukrainian people (who use the same argument as anti-Israelis, by the way, it’s not like they hate Ukraine/support Russia for no reason at all).
The Kid scares the hell out of me, and I'm not even an aircraft
my day is always better when HLC uploads these
As a slovak I can say you nailed our accent 100%
I've been wanting a conversation with physics for a while now
Yeah we’ve seen this movie before…
Twice actually lol
Canada: “We all played the original Fallout game. We all know it’s a game. But some of you people worry us…”
My daily dose of smiles and giggles… TY I need it
