Track 1. Estas Tonne - Internal Flight
I was there in 2010. It was spectacular. So much history! So many stories! I loved it. Different feeling, something more real and strangely familiar, yet not a dream.
Just happened upon this video and so happy that I did..Thank you so much for this beautiful portrayal of my wonderful home county..I feel incredibly lucky to have been born in 'The Kingdom'.I recognise so many of those of the beaten tracks that you show on here but I never tire of seeing this most majestic of landscapes...There are many many beautiful places in the world that I have seen but nothing can or will ever compare to the place I call home.
Thanks Fearghal, glad you enjoyed it :)
It was a genuine treat to have visited. Looking back from 10 years ago,I have the urge to go back! The whole island makes me feel this way. I said jokingly 'hey, where's the realtor office?' In response 'what?! We're all trying to get off this rock and you Want live here??'
Humor is key..cheers
This is a stunning film of the Ring of Kerry. I live on the Ring and I have seen scores of tourist videos, but this is the best I have ever seen. The footage from the bike cam is beautifully complimented by the drone and the stills are simply gorgeous. The weather is famously changeable in this part of South West Ireland, but when the sun shines the colours in the landscape are unforgettable. The southern part of the Ring of Kerry combines sea, sky, mountains and islands in wide vistas which you have captured perfectly. The music is a delight- all the better for not being the standard Irish traditional music which can feel heavy when the camera is moving so quickly. Finally, just to say the islands at the end of the film are the Skelligs which are seven miles off shore. The great Skellig (Skellig Michael) was home to a monastery for centuries and scenes from the last star war movie were shot there. Lastly, the Ring of Kerry is a 110 mile journey best done on a day between the months May and October when the light is perfect and the images live up to everything in this beautiful film. Congratulations on an amazing piece of work!
Absolutely stunning video, almost in tears with the beauty of it. And the perfect sound track. I'm planning two visits next year, one early on with my wife on our Triumph 800, then later with a small group of friends. We love your island!
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the vid. Hope ye have a brilliant time here next year ;)
Thanks to you. We have all just witnessed a little piece of heaven here on erith 😀. .Ireland is a magical place. .
Cheers Tony, glad you enjoyed :)
I couldn't stop saying wow watching this video, this is just magnificent.
Such a great video, very good music choice.
Scenery left me speechless, pics are awesome.
I enjoyed it and I want to go there now !
Great great job !
Thanks Seb, glad you enjoyed it. If you need help planning a motorbike trip to Ireland I'd be happy to help..
Amazing road, great scenaries, I loved the aerial footage with the drone. Well done 👍👍
I love how this looks like the start to a dramatic road trip movie. Brilliant. I rode around Kerry and dingle many years ago with my now wife. I’m planning on going again next year with my 16 year old son. A truly beautiful part of the world
The most beautiful part of Ireland
I've driven the full ring no fewer than a dozen times as tourist - and my utmost priority is either keeping up or getting out of the way. Surprisingly, there are many places to pull over to make way for the faster ones. I find the best time to drive the ring of Kerry is very early in the morning. I'd leave about 30 mins before dawn in Killarney, and sometimes be to Sneem without seeing more than 2 cars. I travel to Ireland off season (the end of October being my little secret, since nothing beats Dublin on Halloween). I'm a pretty fast but courteous driver, and drive a Subaru WRX here in Canada so terrain and speed are nothing new - but I'm amazed with the skill of Kerry drivers. Mind you, I'm stuck in a crappy rental car (Nissan Micra or Renault Clio) doing 80 around corners no Micra was designed for, in rain and 90km/h winds, and I'll have someone come up from behind in a tall delivery van and when I yield to them, they're doing rally speeds. I like to think I know a lot about the ring's roads, corners, climbs, nuances - but driving a bakery van around the ring like that, you'd have to be Sebastien Loeb himself. As rustic as the ring can be, the roads are (almost all) in a perfect state. The paint is always visible too. A couple of gripes I have are the bicycles (how suicidal must you feel to ride a bike on the ring), the new EU funded road barriers (replacing the beautiful stone walls, but certainly safer) and graffiti. Every town's got some gobshite tagger, but their routine is a tourist's idea of heaven, and to see "Gerrys are stemers" or "Bjork is a huer" scrawled across an ancient stone fence is a bit heartbreaking. Shout out to Mr O'Sullivan of Sneem for letting me use the loo in his store last year - I believe my quote was, "I could have pished a hole through sheet metal". One way of knowing the population of a town in Kerry is by checking the roadside noticeboard about what the bingo draw is worth. If it's in the $ thousands -> big town. Oh, word of advice - get extra insurance when driving a rental around the ring. It's not just accidents, but the likelihood of scraping along branches or brush when pulled over. Tucking your right side wing-mirror in and instead doing a shoulder-check can give you a few precious inches of extra space to worm through tight spots. Rental companies in Ireland are no different from the rest of the world, with someone intent on finding a scratch that wasn't there (or was, you just didn't document it) upon return. With the extra insurance, you can throw them the keys to a smoldering heap and walk away with your reward points.
Breathtaking!
Loved every minute of this video. I hope I can make it there eventually.
Excellent Job!
By god what a great video and pictures !!! 👍
Another amazing video! Long way from the arid centre of Australia! LOL! @ 12.52 looks like the spot where I asked Christine the BIG question and she said "Yes" on our trip in October '14! Thank you so much, Denis, for letting us visit from so far away again. Looking forward to next trip - and then it will be on 2 less wheels!!
Thanks guys, hope you're having fun riding in Aus, it's also on my ever growing to-do list ;)
I absolutely love this clip music by ukraninan flamenco and ireland ring of kerry. In my view its uplifting and inspirational to view and an amazing experience that makes one to be transported to a place that is total contentment with peace and serenity. Thank for your video and the very best to future projects.
Thank you very much James, it's great to hear you enjoyed this vid so much..
Just watched this as we're off to Ireland next year. I've done the Kerry and the Dingle couple times already and love it every time. Top filming guys and I must say, your road positioning in the drone shots is tip soddin top. Good skills fella. Cheers.
Cheers mate, much appreciated, if you're ever back in Killarney give us a shout and we'll have a pint ;)

Has to be the best road movie (production brilliant) that I've ever seen on CZcams. I'm hooked will be on my way to Ireland in 2017 many thanks for sharing Denis.
Tried the route map link, took me a route in France I think
Thanks Peter, I fixed the route link ;) If you need any help planing the trip let me know. My bikers guide to Ireland (almost finished) might help and you can down many of the satnav routes for the west coast there too. www.roadtrooper.com/the-wild-atlantic-way-for-bikers-overview/
Just amazing! What can I say..........living a dream, lovely video.
Cheers Kevin, it's been a dream for many years to live in Kerry and I finally made it :)

Brilliant video of my favourite roads. The use of the Drone footage is great and adds to the wonderful scenery and a lovely soundtrack. I'm watching this from West Sussex longing to be back riding those roads....cheers Dennis! Steve

Amazing footage and sounds.
Thanks Patrick..
Absolutely blown away with this video. Tremendous drone work along with beautiful stills at the end. Best I have seen, thanks. Can I ask what the music is please?
Hi Neil, glad you liked the vid :) The music = Estas Tonne - Internal Flight (Remastered). Link to his channel/song - czcams.com/video/6lIt07sBW4E/video.html
Well done. What a 1st class job you did of this video. Thank you for your effort.
Cheers, thanks for watching..
Just amazing! All the best from Portugal.
Graças meu amigo :)
Great video, deserves so many more views. Brilliant editing and drone footage. Temped to do the trip as soon as I get back home to Ireland end of the month.
Thanks mate, west Cork/Kerry is a world class spot to ride. Give me a shout if you find yourself around Killarney and I'll take you out around some of the best roads known to the locals..
That would be great, have family in Waterville being going down there for years but always wanted to properly tour the area. Will be in touch
Great video!! Looks a stunning place, with even less traffic than the Scottish Highlands if that's even possible ... I need to get over there.
If you find yourself in or near Killarney let me know and I'll show you some of the best biking roads in the area few tourists see ;)
For sure yes, cheers 👍
RoadTrooper do u have a link I can look at the route considering bike trip in May ?
Brilliant video, those roads are amazing and the narrow ones covered in gravel with grass running along the centre line are treacherous. Came across some similar ones in north Scotland doing the nc500.
Makes me want to get out and ride, roll on the spring sunshine !!
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed..
the best little country in the world
I couldn't agree more :)
Fantastic ....
Great video as usual Denis
Cheers Pat..
Hey Dennis - I can't think of a compliment to do this justice - I'll just say best biking video I have ever seen and believe me I have seen many! Waste to many of my evenings on youtube doing just that! Were you flying the drone? Some stunning shots from that.
Love the music too but what is it? Every time I Shazam it I get a different answer?
Cheers mate keep up the great work - you are the best! Andy
Ahh - end of the video answered my drone question - asked it whilst still watching and enjoying the music!
Thanks for the compliment Dude, it's much appreciated, I spent more time putting this vid together than any other. The music is Internal Flight by Estas Tonne who is an amazing guitarist. You can find more of his music here - czcams.com/users/Estastonne Happy trails mate..
Thanks Dennis. Much appreciated. Just bought that, what a track, you introduced me to Brunuhville too. Not only do you do great vids but you have great music taste too! Hoping to get over to Ireland next year - will give you a shout for some route idea's if I may? Like to buy you a few Guiness's too!
Sorry mate is it just one N in Denis?
Meraviglioso
Heya. I love your videos. They are amazing. Whish you all the best. I hope, one day i can accompany you :-) greetings
Thanks Thomas, If youy ever come to Irelands west coast I'd be happy to show you the best roads :)
FAN-TAS-TIC footage!!
Cheers dude ;)
should be sponsored by bord failte that was tremendous
Cheers, glad you enjoyed :)
I go to this area twice a year and will continue to do so . To the outsider most people hear of the "ring of kerry" but the actual ring of kerry is fairly boring, you have to take time and plan your routes properly as roadtrooper has done. The 3 peninsulas below the ring of kerry are spectacular and less known. Again plan your route, go on street view and drop the yellow man on the single tracks and narrow coast routes as this will give you an idea of where to go. My suggestion is to stay self catering in kenmare for a week and each day go out for 5 hrs , 1 day for each peninsula and then whatever you fancy. At least at the end of the day you know you will be coming back to kenmare which had great pubs and food and not big like killarney. Priest leap from south to north a must and also the radar beacons for the irish aviation, full access at the top of a mountain. The only negative side is its 5hrs from dublin ( use the speed ferry ) and use the toll tunnel when leaving dublin even though it goes north first. Dublin trafiic is a big no no
Couldn't agree more, the Ring of Kerry is a nice ride but far from the best, especially if on a motorbike. If you really want to see the best you can do it the easy way and get the satnav routes of the best routes in the south west as day tours using Killarney/Kenmare as a base. With over 200 poi's including photo stops, hotels, campsites, ring forts etc its the easiest and cheapest way to be assured of seeing it all. More info on the Ireland South West Self Guided Day Tours on RoadTrooper.com or check out my latest vid - czcams.com/video/Ug80bM3naxs/video.html
I've been riding the Ring of Kerry for fifteen years and can't say I've ever found it "boring". Not for a single moment. 😂😂😂
The Kerry tourist board ought to send to you a HUGE gift! Well done...truly brilliant vid...what's the music?
Cheers dude, glad you like the vid, music = Estas Tonne - Internal Flight
I'll just piggy-back on the preceding accolades. Not to diminish your own bike video but that drone footage is fantastic. Altogether, the stuff of dreams. At what time of year was this photographed? Thanks.
Thanks Sean. It was filmed during April and May of 2016.
wow great place hope to be in a month or so nice work Denis.
I will only have 5 days landing at Roslare any ideas would be very welcome.
Thanks Neil, hope you have a great trip here..
LOL, I have plenty of ideas. I run guided or self (SatNav) guided motorcycle day tours from Killarney and a custom route service. I have 8 routes beginning and ending in Killarney alone without leaving the West Cork/Kerry region ;) With just 5 days to play with you're not going to be able to do all the best roads/routes and I suppose a lot depends on what type of roads you're after, but I'd certainly suggest at the very least exploring the 3 main peninsulas in the area, Dingle, the Iveragh Peninsula/Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula/Ring of Beara. The main tourist routes are already starting to fill up with the usual tourist traffic, but if you're on a motorbike there are tons of incredible roads off the beaten track that few tourists venture into as the roads are small and windy, impossible for coaches, bad for large cars, but perfect for motorbikes ;)
Thanks Dennis will be in touch be good to meet up
Aye, give me a shout if you're in Killarney, I'm always up for a pint or a rideout ;) You can get me at denis.smyth@roadtrooper.com
Brilliant video! Are there any wild camping laws over there? Would love to visit in the next year or so, but pitch a tent along the way
Hi Ian, Ireland is indeed good for camping, at least it is in the south, not sure about the north as the UK laws take a different view i believe. Basically you can camp just about anywhere in the republic that is not private or government owned land. The national parks also have restrictions like no fires or parties which might scare the deer, birds etc and the park rangers will be well pissed off if you damage any trees, fauna etc or leave your rubbish behind ;) In the national parks if you keep it quiet, dont light a fire and dont make a mess you'll be fine and no one will bother you. Most farmers will let you camp on their land also - but you most definetly MUST ask their permission, ye dont want to be camping in a field where a farmer intends to mate a couple of friskey cows with a short fused 2 ton bull with full bags or where he's going to plow it up at 4am on a massy ferguson with flaying steal bits. It's also good manners to ask and most farmers will be quite happy to point you to a field they're not using. If ye just use your head and ask when in doubt you'll be fine wild camping here.
RoadTrooper thanks brother! 👍🏻
Great video and music. What video camcorder are you filing with ? , lovely landscapes, all the best .Graham .
Thanks Graham, I use the Drift HD Ghost cam..
Brilliant 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 for the video ❤👍
Ya better be careful of them road apples - they are slippery especially when fresh. 11:00
Like Andre I rely love the video but this is the third time i loaded it just to here the music while I polish parts of my motorcycle. Just do what you think is best it's been great on this end thanks for the video of my homeland.
Thanks Ralph..
beautiful. where is that viewpoint at the 3 min mark?
It's the Fogher Cliffs on Valentia Island..
excellent mate what drone are you using?
Not sure, it was a mate doing the drone work, the results were amazing though. I'm hoping Santa will bring me one for Christmas ;)
Great calming vid, is there any gpx files for routes to download to Garmin Montana GPS plz ?
Glad you enjoyed it. In most of my "descriptions" you'll find a google map link to the route. I've also got loads of route available for free download on my website www.RoadTorrper.com as .gpx and Garmin .gdb for Ireland, Alps, Pyrenees, Spain etc. For Ireland I have a 6 day Self Guided Tour of Irelands south west atlantic coast available for Garmin, TomTom and Smartphones which includes 100's of POI's, hotels, pubs etc - more info on this is available here - www.roadtrooper.com/downloadable-self-guided-diy-tour-ireland-south-west/ I also offer a custom tour service for motorcyclists where I'll work with the customer to design the best route around Ireland, French Alps or Pyrenees as well as the full personal motorcycle guide service and BMW/Harley/Royal Enfield motorcycle rental based in Killarney. I also offer touring apparel and stickers - www.redbubble.com/people/ROADTROOPER Basically I've got something to suit every budget ;) Feel free to drop me an email at denis.smyth@roadtrooper.com with any questions.
thank you for the nice Moment ...
Very Nice, what drone did you use for the follow me mode? dji, 3rd?
Yep, it's the dji phantom 3, good guess John ;)
must look into the dji follow me modes not used them only apm follow me
wow, is the ring of kerry route got the highlands included in the route?
Hi Mario, my self guided satnav routes include the highlands, the Iveragh Peninsula section is split into 2 x 200km routes, so you'd need 2 days to cover the Iveragh Peninsula. 98% of tourists just travel the Ring of Kerry which is the main coastal road and is big enough to take coaches, camper vans, large family cars etc. The highland roads are mostly one track which is why most traffic avoids them, the coaches can't go there, but the highlands are perfect for motorcycles ;) All the SGT routes of Ireland's south west are designed for motorcyclists who can take advantage of their small size to really explore the region on the small back roads where you'll see the really stunning views and interesting places.
Want to do this so bad
5 of us on road bikes are heading to Killarney were we are staying for the bike fest at the end of this month.
We would like to see the bike fest but also see some of the area before heading north to Galway and Westport. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The Ring of Beara would always be my 1st choice, far less traffic, more scenic, and more enjoyable then the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula. It's a good 6 hour ride-out but it's one of the best, if not the best rides you'll get in Ireland. Most of the guys using my routes would say Beara was the highlight of their tour ;) maps.app.goo.gl/jtdiu23a4QVzMUM29
If you get good weather you wont regret it, I've a video of Beara here - ( czcams.com/video/NeY5qU-1Qrc/video.html ) Aim to stop for lunch/dinner at Helen's Bar at Kilmackkillogue Pier, when in season you can get a bowl of the best (Kenmare Bay) muscles in Europe there while sitting on the pier, it's a stunningly beautiful place and famous with local bikers. Another good place to get lunch is at Dursey Island cable car at the very end of the peninsula, in summer there's a chip van selling local fresh caught fish/crab/lobster&chips, great views there too - maps.app.goo.gl/5pYDMybGW5s9MRwE8
@@RoadTrooper sounds great they're always up for good grub.
Wonder what time of the year it was
Some of it was filmed in May but most was in late Sept and Oct..
What’s the road or location of the 1st clip on the video at 30 seconds
It's part of the old Killrney-Kenmare road, it's mostly a trail now though, runs up behind Derrycunihy Church - goo.gl/maps/uBvuuVX3SjYpW5a2A
@@RoadTrooper thank you
