Hi, I’m just wondering where you have your camera mounted, is it just on your chin with a chin strap? Great videos, well done!
Hi Mark, I had the drift cam mounted on the side of my helmet with a bit of 3M velcro, the strong type used for hanging large pictures. It holds the cam securely but I can pull it off easily too when I dont want it or remount it quickly on the other side of the helmet depending on the scenery. This system works well on some helmets but not all..
Thanks I persuade the others to do this route
5 of us on road bikes are heading to Killarney were we are staying for the bike fest at the end of this month. We would like to see the bike fest but also see some of the area before heading north to Galway and Westport. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The Ring of Beara would always be my 1st choice, far less traffic, more scenic, and more enjoyable then the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula. It's a good 6 hour ride-out but it's one of the best, if not the best rides you'll get in Ireland. Most of the guys using my routes would say Beara was the highlight of their tour ;) maps.app.goo.gl/jtdiu23a4QVzMUM29
If you get good weather you wont regret it, I've a video of Beara here - ( czcams.com/video/NeY5qU-1Qrc/video.html ) Aim to stop for lunch/dinner at Helen's Bar at Kilmackkillogue Pier, when in season you can get a bowl of the best (Kenmare Bay) muscles in Europe there while sitting on the pier, it's a stunningly beautiful place and famous with local bikers. Another good place to get lunch is at Dursey Island cable car at the very end of the peninsula, in summer there's a chip van selling local fresh caught fish/crab/lobster&chips, great views there too - maps.app.goo.gl/5pYDMybGW5s9MRwE8
@@RoadTrooper sounds great they're always up for good grub.
Can't believe I've only found this video! Absolutely brilliant. I'm planning a trip in June and will now be including some of your highlights. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed, happy trails..
Planning to do this in June as part of my trip so thank you for this awesome video! Hope i get the weather you got!
Dont miss out on the nearby Ring of Beara/Peninsula and the Healy Pass either, it's absolutely essential, its a ride you'll not forget ;)
Great music in addition to a great video, and some nice cars of the 1970-1980s as a bonus.
Brilliant as always them lads
Has the video been edited with a different sound track?
I possibly might have about 4 years ago, but not sure. My vids often get hit with soundtrack copyright violations so I have to keep updating them to keep the globalists happy..
@@RoadTrooper So sorry to hear, your choice of music and editing was fantastic from an original early bike video creator. I noticed change in sound tracks of later videos, didn’t enjoy soundtrack and muted. Much to my regret lots of your wonderful videos have been deleted from my saved folder by the CZcams police. Can’t stand the asinine wittering comments of most bike vloggers but I suppose they have no alternatives.
@@RoadTrooper Couple of tracks I thought typically “you,” for the bike videos. czcams.com/video/TAyOycQpqqo/video.htmlsi=rSMGRwZvnKMu2kYN Have to send separately, j
@@RoadTrooper Second track, both useless I know due to the utube police. czcams.com/video/mbA9q5FYRow/video.htmlsi=ztdXJHAFWz14CK3a I can dream? Appreciate so much hard work wasted when video removed. J
@@jeanjacques9980 Yep, the YT police got so bad it was nearly impossibly to continue the format of matching good music to a ride video. A video might work for a month, or even a year or two until the sound track rights were bought by a big music company then my video would get hit with a copyright complaint. That's why I don't make videos anymore, it's way too much trouble, and talking sh$t over a vid just to bypass the soundtrack copyright issue is not for me. Most bike/ride vloggers just put me to sleep and many of the better ones got banned altogether for saying something the police didn't like. Even the right of free speech is dead. YT is just a platform for selling ads or pushing Gov sponsored brainwashing these days..
1.30 and 7 min location please. Great video ♥️
1:30 is Canyon de Anisclo on the Spanish side, at 7 min its the road up to Cirque de Troumousse on the French side. However the last bit of road up to the Cirque is now closed to traffic in high season, early June to early Sept I think.
Fantastic series. Keep going back to them for reference to journeys i plan for ideas of what to see and where to go. And also to relive journeys made . Roadtrooper, you got the best job in the world
Glad you enjoyed :)
Great video. Fantastic scenery and on a bike is the way to do it.
beautifull......

Absolutely blown away with this video. Tremendous drone work along with beautiful stills at the end. Best I have seen, thanks. Can I ask what the music is please?
Hi Neil, glad you liked the vid :) The music = Estas Tonne - Internal Flight (Remastered). Link to his channel/song - czcams.com/video/6lIt07sBW4E/video.html
Wow such a spectacular road trip, i hope to do it in my van in the summer! Subscribed to your channel :-)
Nice video of riding and countryside, just terrible music. Let it down.
OK, thanks for the criticism dude. Please do give me a list of music for my next vid that you do like "that will also make everyone else on the planet happy" to avoid whining mincers. Dont forget the music must also comply with YT's sound copyright rules also to avoid a soundtrack ban ;) Oh, hang on, wait, eh, actually I DGAF lol

what an amazing road and video. just added this to my for 2023 tour 👏
The Beara Peninsula/Ring of Beara is unmissable, it's always been the highlight for the folks doing my guided and self guided tours of Ireland. You should definitely do it and well worth spending a full day to explore it properly..
You know this guys got taste by the music! Amazing video dude
Cheers dude, glad you liked it..😁
Rode this road last week (2022). Beautiful scenery but the road surface has deteriorated a lot, still easy for adventure bikes, not so for super sports.
I've been lurking around your channel for quite some time. You've done some epic tours and adventures on your bikes. I'm pretty new to the bike touring thing, I did a mini tour of North Wales in June and enjoyed every bit of it. I will be doing more tours in the future! I notice you have uploaded anything in a while? Have you anything planned or perhaps a different channel. Cheers
Hi Paul, I was making the vids when I was working as motorcycle tour guide and living in France and Spain. But making the vids took a huge amount of time and I stopped when I retired from the tour guide gig at the start of the lockdowns. I just ride for myself now since I moved to Kerry on the west coast of Ireland which is bikers paradise ;) I still post photos of my local trips on the RoadTrooper FB page, there's a link to it on this channels about page. If you fancy doing bigger tours yourself there's plenty of free gpx/satnav routes and loads more info for touring on the RoadTrooper website.. Happy trails, Denis
@@RoadTrooper Thanks for the reply Denis. I totally get you riding just for you, at the end of the day that's what it's all really about. I tend to record a lot of my rides, mainly just for my viewing pleasure and upload them on CZcams (saves a lot of disk space!) I'll check the website and FB page out. Thanks
nice , u dont have gpx u can share?
Drop me an email to denis.smyth@roadtrooper.com and I can send you the official route des cols..
With this one, I found only one other video showing the trip in that direction, thanks. The other way round seems even more spectacular, but - at least on video - it feels safer to be on the mountain side of the road than on the cliff one !
Have ridden this road many, many times….this road is actually in Valencia Community. It’s the road that pretty well circumnavigates the Embalse de la Pedrera… Like many roads in Alicante Province it is a great biker road . We Bikers are spoiled for choice…..great climate plus a Biker friendly Country…

Awesome video landscapes and music... You are a Master bro.. Congratulations
Cheers dude, glad you enjoyed..
Le compte tour ne fonctionne pas correctement , par moment l'aiguille et en bas 🤔!!
great video ..question ..does black valley pass join Ballaghisheen Pass? i've looked at maps online and there is no clear view ..thanks ;)
If you are hiking yes, but not by road. You can ride into the Black Valley and Lough Gummeenduff itself from the Gap of Dunloe or Molls Gap but it's a dead end as it stops at the entrance to a farm which is obviously private land, but there's a hiking trail through the farm, part of the Kerry Way i think. Its worth riding up to the farm gate though as the views by the lake are pure magic. There is another route from Ballaghisheen via the Ballaghbeama pass which is defo not to be missed. From Ballaghbeama you ride through real pretty overgrown and rough boreen via Top Cross that runs parallel to the Black Valley where you can hook around to the BV, it's not for novices though. I'd ride this route easily enough on my 800GS but probably not on my 1200GSA.. goo.gl/maps/MytqpN6WdQsJJLwn7
Thx for the nice video 👍... I'm looking to buy a bike for go round torrevieja in October, was there anything you saw/experienced there that is a must do/see for me ? 😊
You definitely should take a ride up the back roads to visit to mountain top town of Gaudalest, be sure also to visit the motorbike museum up there too - goo.gl/maps/9f1K5xMNj2YHdHyn6
@@RoadTrooper Cheers mate, appreciate it 👍
Awesome! I road the same pass 3 years ago in the opposite direction, coming from Canada to do it . Such a beautiful country, Ireland is.
Brillant recording!
I was there in 2010. It was spectacular. So much history! So many stories! I loved it. Different feeling, something more real and strangely familiar, yet not a dream.
Absolutely beautiful, I’m going to Ireland on my bike in August but looking at theses roads I’m not sure if I should change my tyres x
You'll be fine, normal road tyres would be best here 99% of the time ;) I just have a habit of riding/filming/photographing the most rural and unused back roads roads possible as I hate traffic lol..
I keep returning to the fantastic R1150 videos; the videos with great sound tracks, time and again especially during these Covid times, no European touring in sight for a second year. Thanks for keeping these up, provokes memories of happier times.
Thanks Jean, I've recently been re watching them myself for exactly the same reason ;) I've been stuck within a 5km limit for months here in Ireland and I don't expect any mc touring again this year with the whole of Europe in such a mess. For me anyway it's near impossible to get off the island of Ireland. Hopefully in 2022 we can get out and make new travels, stay safe, Denis.
@@RoadTrooper Your fairly safe in the west of Ireland, hope you receive vaccine jabs soon. Have to send you off to all the Cols again with a 4K+ camera! You were one of the first touring vloggers, first and best even now, great pictures, editing and music, before the music police intervened! Probably my only chance of seeing the Alps this year. Stay safe and well and thanks for your hard work, JJ PS You don’t seem to have made it to Norway? I appreciate that you almost have to rob a bank to pay for a three/four week+ trip from Ireland. The weather is a major problem visiting Norway, I was lucky, no rain for three weeks and 28C in the Lofoten Islands.
@@jeanjacques9980 I made it to Finland and the south of Sweden 20 years ago I but never got to Norway. Maybe someday, I'd love to see the fjords but I might have to win the lotto first ;)
@@RoadTrooper Good luck with the Euromillions, of the four Scandinavian countries; I know Finland’s inclusion is debatable, but Norway certainly is the country to visit. However the weather can be a significant negative factor and three weeks of rain at Norwegian prices is painful. One day when your numbers come up you will enjoy the trip and your subscribers enjoy the videos.
Epic thanks for posting and your hard work superb
