I was planning to get 305/70/17s for my next set of tires for my tacoma. Glad you made this video. Also just an FYI you can get an alignment and have the shop give you positive caster to push the wheels forward, maybe that'll help with some clearance. Looks like you have SPC UCAs so that'll definitely help.
I have a 3” suspension lift and currently running 33s. I was thinking about getting 34s but after watching this video I think rubbing will be an issue.
(1) Tacoma’s are good and if I didn’t buy the Rubicon, a Tacoma would have been high on my shopping list. (2) As long as you’re happy (getting rid of the Jeep), all is good. 😃
The Jeep was definitely a fun project and cool to experience! Hate to see it go, but the Tacoma isn't going anywhere and two off-roaders was cool for a little!
They are pretty much at 0 right now. I haven't had the need to adjust them until now, so I do plan on making a video about a new alignment to push the tires forward slightly and see how that does!

I have been wanting to ask you about the change up with the wheels and rims. When you knew that you were ready to go bigger with the tires and change the rims, what did you end up doing with the ones you had one the truck before going for the change. ? I have the opportunity to do so, but trying to figure out where to store or keep the ones on the truck. I realize that keeping them maybe beneficial but when you know that the changes your about to do is where you want, where can you go to give the tires and rims away if you know deep down your never going to go back to those?
If you are talking about the stock wheels/tires I sold those when I put my first set of new tires/wheels on the truck. Then when I got new wheels and tires, I sold those. So in this video you just see the tires being swapped on my only set of wheels for the truck. So I don't have a backup. Honestly just try and sell them, list them and see what you can get.

I have a 285/75/17 so it’s a (33.8)” so basically a 34”. I dident have any rubbing issues in the street. But for offroad use I trimmed some of the inner fender liner, and I of coarse did a cab mount chop. Doesent matter what size you go, 33”, 34”, 35” you should be doing a cab mount chop. I would highly recommend it as in my opinion. The 33s just look a little small to me. And 35s just have their issues so this is a perfect middle.
I'm glad I did the cmc awhile back, but now I'm looking into the cab relocation so I can poke these tires out a bit more! Glad the 35s didn't work out bc I wouldn't be able to drive now lol
@@JB-pk1jx Your thinking of a 285/"70"/17. The 75 aspect ratio is what he mentioned and makes the difference compared to the ever popular 70 aspect ratio. Check specs on manufacturers websites or somewhere that lists them like Tirerack.
@@markc1016 yessir. Most people go with either a 285/70/17 or a 285/75/16. In my opinion they just looks somewhat small. The 285/75/17 is perfection. Definitely pay a pretty penny for it though, cause they aren’t very common.

I think my tires are hitting the knuckle/uca area I thought a bmc would help but that doesn't seem like that's gonna fix the rubbing issues. Honestly it wasn't much. I already did the CMC before this and did flattened the pinch weld. I had slight rubbing on some metal behind the tire but not much, and now with the new alignment I have like 1.5'' behind the tires and zero rubbing! How much power do you loose with 33’s - 35’s on a Tacoma? Also could you run 33’s with a 2.5 inch lift on a 3rd gen Tacoma Also do you know if the Offroad Tacoma comes with a lift from the factory with the bilstien shocks
Honestly I haven't noticed any power loss, if there is it's so insignificant especially on a truck, I don't even notice. You could run 33''s on a 2.5'', may need some trimming depending on the width of the tire and offset of the wheel. The offroad does not, but the TRD Pro's have about a 1'' lift over the stock height.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed i grabbed the spc control arms and a full old man emu resi kit for front and back suspension. Im going to relocate the body and do a bunch of trimming and hopefuly that will be sufficient for fitting my -38 offset 34s 😅 first time doing this and pretty much went off of reviews

@@ConspiracyJ I have zero rubbing even off-road! My new alignment with the SPC’s pushed the tire .5” forward and I do have any problems! I don’t have that negative offset, I have 0 with a 1.25” spacer so can’t say for sure but that doesn’t seem too bad.

305/70/17? What are the wheel size and offsets? What size spacers? I run 285/75/17 with .75" spacers and 4.5 Caster (JBA uca) and no rub. I have CMC. So with my spacers, tall and wide as your 305/70. Ditch the spacers and 4.0+ caster and you'll be gtg. This comment is late, so you're probably gtg by now.
So they are 305's, wheels are 17x9 0 offset and the spacers are 1.25''...I have CMC already done and took the spacers off for them to work. I have a tad of rubbing on hard turns, but I will be doing a new alignment in the next few weeks. I'd like to add the spacers back in the meantime if that alignment helps!
Not a waste of time for me, all part of the build, I don't have to trim now since there's no rubbing. I realize I have to trim more so just another mod to do when I get new wheels!

Use impact extensions as well. Those chrome extensions and sockets would only flex rather than staying solid axle and providing impacts.

With those upper control arms did you adjust the caster at all or are you pretty much at 0 degrees?
