My Thoughts on the BFG KM3 (34") Tire - 285/75/r17

  • I've put around 20,000 miles on these BFGoodrich KM3 M/T tires and they've been absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them as a M/T tire for anyone who see's mud and/or rocks frequently on the trail. These are in the 34" (285/75/R17) size mounted on a 17" AEV Crestone wheel.
FYI: These tires are about 50% tread, and have several thousand miles of life left. I did not change tires because these needed to be replaced.

Had this tire on my old 4Runner and they rocked in Moab and Ouray last summer. Loved them so much, I got 37” KM3s on my new Bronco today.

I have a set of 35” KM3’s on an XJ Beast and the same set up on my Son’s 2014 JKU Rubicon they have been amazing. I have the the BFG’s KO2’s on my 2020 Raptor with 36,000 miles. I am about to replace the KO2’s and I think I’ll go back with the KO2’s.
The KM3’s on the XJ have been put to the test, the side walls are real strong. As long as you air down they will do anything you ask them to. In Texas we have a lot of shale or sharp rocks which does “chunk up’ the tires but that’s with a lot of abuse at 6-10 PSI. I highly recommend them.

I bought KM3s watching you having all that fun on them! I love mine. Glad I didn't skimp there like I do on everything else. (almost)

Thanks dude! Yeah they're excellent tires for sure. Saw yours in person and they look so good on your rig.

I bought the 295/70/17 (33 inch) BFG KM3s for my 2003 Suburban Z71. Super happy with them! Way quieter than I expected. Unstoppable off road.

It’s not the cab mount slicing it, it’s making more tire sipings lol love the km3s

Man those were my number one choice. I actually had them on order for 3 months...Yokohama has no eta/leadtime on the size I needed so I went with these. The Geolander's will be my next tire for sure.

My only issue with them was tread depth from new . they are 3-4 32nds lower than other brands . that being said they are awsome tyres for all round off road and good on road

I always find trouble on picking a tire I’ve had BF good rich KO2 and I’ve literally got stuck on grass while it was raining that was embarrassing. Now I find myself back to square one I’m trying to find the best tire.

Nice video!! I want this size for my Tacoma. I already have a suspension lift, after market UCAs, a CMC, and off road front bumper. Will I need to do any more trimming to get these to fit?

  • @3GFinn

Not sure if you've wheeled yet on new setup, but which tire do you prefer? Its a toss up for me right now between the 2. I'd say I'm offroad/onroad 50/50. Need to replace the Toyo AT3s that lack in off road traction.

@@justinbaggett5190 I went with the STT Pros. GREAT offroad. Not too bad on road. Had some balancing issues with 1 tire but got a new one. Can get a little noisy but eventually get used to it later on. I prob have about 25k+ miles on them.

Our trails around here are very similar to the Ozarks trails huge washout lots of mud etc. My question is which tire do you consider the best for thick muddy trails ? I ran the Wildpeak mts for a while and they did ok but they didn't clean out real well in the deap stuff. So I'm your opinion which is best for the mud

  • @todd_raymond

Does the KM3 feel like a tractor tire at slow speeds? I have KM2 Mud tires on my Jeep now and actually like it. But the KM2 as you know is no longer made in a 35
