BYU QB Zach Wilson
Junior 6’3 210 lbs
With Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields & even Trey Lance getting all of the hype, it’s BYU QB Zach Wilson who has arguably been the most impressive signal caller this season. Wilson might be the most improved player in the country & has raised his draft stock more than any other player outside of Mac Jones. While Wilson may not win the Heisman, it’s incredible that he’s even getting this kind of attention. The most impressive thing about Zach Wilson has been his arm strength. Most people knew about his mobility & playmaking ability outside of the pocket, but he’s shown that he can stay in the pocket and deliver a beautiful deep ball like Josh Allen & Patrick Mahomes from time to time. It’ll be interesting to see how he’s viewed as a draft prospect after the season.

No. 8 BYU has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2020 College Football season & QB Zach Wilson is a big reason why. On the season, Wilson has thrown for 2,512 yards & 22 TDs with just 2 INTs along with 8 rushing TDs. While he may not be the favorite, he's been getting some Heisman hype recently. Also, he’s been rising on draft boards, as Mel Kiper listed him as the No. 13 overall draft prospect.

I am literally so excited to see what he can do in the league. I hope someone picks him pretty early and everyone doubts him then he lights the league up and proves everyone wrong I love seeing things like that happen
Washington is perfect for that and he'll fit like a glove in that offense assuming Scott Turner's still there next year. If Alex Smith can look like how he's looking, moving the rock up and down the field the way he's been doing the last couple weeks in that system producing the numbers he's been producing, just imagine what this man Zach Wilson can do.. My goodness talk about an upgrade in high ceiling potential, explosiveness, playmaking ability and creativity smh It's 🆙

As always, thank you! I agree. Last year, Wilson showed that he can run a little & make plays outside of the pocket. This year, he's really improved inside the pocket & can deliver a deep ball when needed.

He reminds me a lot of Alex Smith I think sitting behind him for a year could do wonders for WFT
WOW! His potential is insane (Mahomes esque). Personally I would consider sitting him down for a year to polish up his game. Tends to rely on his arm strength instead of focusing on his footwork. Definitely Top 3 QB in this 2020 Draft Class.

Wilson is definitely better, but Mangum looked good to me his freshman year. Thought he’d progress into a really good QB, but never did.

I keep seeing 49ers fans say they want him as if 5 other teams in front of them don't need a qb. They seem pretty delusional cuz it's obvious that after the first 2 Washington, Atlanta, Denver and maybe NYG need a qb for the future. He's a natural thrower of the football with enough athleticism to play the game. The only difference I see between him and someone like Mahomes is Patrick's sky high confidence when he plays. But that may come in time.

He reminds me of a Aaron Rodgers/Russell Wilson fusion.
To me more of a Josh Allen/Joe burrow hybrid, can effortlessly push the ball downfield with his arm strength but also has that extend the play ability and anticipation of burrow. I’m fascinated to see what he becomes
thats about my comp too. great powerful, precise arm that will punish defenses that give up separation, but with the ability to break out of the pocket and scramble if the play breaks down. really hope washington doesn't screw him up

He's got a little Mahomes/R. Wilson about him. Not a L. Jackson level athlete, but can definitely make you pay with his legs. Moves around the pocket well. Throws well off balance/on the run. Mixes in some weird arm slots. Looks like the ideal modern QB prospect. I get that's obviously the extreeemmmee ceiling. I think given his build and physical abilities, a more realistic comp is Derek Carr.
A jet fan of close to 30 years.. checking out what the talk about this kid is ( since we f’d up the trevor sweepstakes)...if joe douglas(who im not a fan of right now) can get this kid some weapons (what he failed to do for sam) then he might be effective
I pray that a merciful god doesn't allow this kid to be ruined by the Jets.
