A zone-heavy system. He doesn’t have top-end, man-up, Wallace Island speed but he’s a legit ballhawk the Steelers just didn’t let him do that enough. No wonder he’s excited to move on.
I think it might be easier to play secondary in the NFC where there’s only one dynamic QB you could potentially run into. I always loved Witherspoon’s length and speed. I thought he was the answer to Ja’Marr Chase.
He’s not a lock-down, man-up guy but he’s pretty damn good in zone coverage with his eyes in the backfield. People want to talk about Matt Canada not putting guys in the best position to succeed; I’m not sure how teryl Austin has avoided that same criticism.
