    I'm in love with the color Dropcloth. I painted dining room table & chairs with it for a raffle at our seniors center. It was the hot item of the raffle which was exciting. While I distressed it Christina's looks much better. Practice makes perfect & I'm still practicing! Christina has distressing down pat.

    This video is exactly what I needed as I’m working on an entire mission bedroom set.. I even went so far as to write myself some cheat notes so I know order of products, when to distress, where to distress, how to finish etc. GREAT VIDEO. Thank you!

    Christina I love this. It’s super informative. I recently finished my first commissioned piece and the customer wanted this color and gold hardware. She loved her China cabinet and has hired me to do her dining table and chairs to match. You and Kacha are so generous with your knowledge. I learn so much from both of you. Wish I had used dirt instead of brown wax!! Lesson learned 😁 thanks again ~Kayla from Texas~

    Is there a time limit for sanding or will it work even days after the paint has dried

    Hi there , that came out perfect. I’m having a really hard time with mine. I’m starting with bare pine. Staining first then chalk pain. But the chalk pain is not coming out smooth, a lot of brush strokes. If you have any guidance for me I would really appreciate it 😊

    • @DixieBellePaint
      @DixieBellePaint  Před 2 lety +2

      We think you might just need to sand it a little until the lines are out. After that, repaint with either a damp brush or use a spray mister bottle on the piece as you paint. The added water will really help stretch the paint out. Once you've repainted, you should be good to finish everything off with Gator Hide. Hopefully, this helps. Happy painting!

    Did you thin the paint with water?

    • @DixieBellePaint
      @DixieBellePaint  Před rokem +1

      Hello! Our Chalk Miineral paint doesn't need to be thinned, but you can slightly mist your brush with water to stretch the paint and reduce brush strokes.

    What should I do with brand new wood? What's sad is I'm a bridge/steel painter by trade, but with this, I'm lost lol

    • @DixieBellePaint
      @DixieBellePaint  Před rokem

      Hey John! Depending on the type of wood, if it has a factory finish or waxes on top of the wood then we recommend you clean the piece and then sand the finish off so that the paint has something to grip to. If it is raw wood with no finish or waxes, then just clean it, let it dry and you are good to go! We think being a bridge and steel painter is awesome! ❤ Happy painting!

      @Dixie Belle Paint Company Thank you 😊. It's raw wood. It was nearly impossible to find or AFFORD a bench for a California King Bed, so my friend, who is a wizard with wood, built us one and I want to try to match it to our bedroom set the best I can. Ty for the advice.
