This is an amazing idea. Absolutely love the look and how smooth that worked
Looks really nice and very useful.
Great find with the brass tubes.
Thanks 👍
I ordered the K&S 3402 & 3401 a couple weeks ago. I made two sets of follower like this with the brass pill bottles. I really like that Im able to fallow plug with one size and use the next size up to put the plug in to hold key pins in the plug when Ive done rekey in the field.
The first time I tried cutting the tubes with a Dremel and ramming them, but that turned out to be disastrous.
I found that putting all the tubes together and cutting all the tubes slow and light tension with a small tubing cutter, then a light ream on each individual tube. I was able to make a set in about 10 min. No sanding or scuffs on the brass. Except on the largest out side tube, That was to big to fit in my brass pill bottles anyway.
Great look. You should market these with cannister through Sparrows. Yeah....
That would be cool!
Love this idea Ash. Nicely done 👌
Thank you! 😁
Really classy, and convenient! Nice
Thank you! 😊
Looks very nice and compact and in brass❤️🔥
It is!
I would buy one, great job
Beautiful work!
Thank you!
Very nice! Great job Ash and thanks for sharing. Take care mate and have a fantastic weekend.
Thanks, you too Gazz!!!
Well done, nicely made!
Thank you very much!
Great video. The final result was beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely love this. Thanks for the vid and idea!
Love it. But I did a quick ebay/amazon search and a package of those tubes are $30 Canadian and the cannister is about $15. Getting a bit pricey if only for one set.
Yeah, brass ain’t cheap!
What a fantastic project.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great idea Ash mate very cool👍😊👊😎🇬🇧
Thanks Leon. Hope you’re doing good my friend 👍😀😀
@@LockNoob I am mate getting help feel better 👊👊👊👊
Thank you for the inspiration. Now I have a new project to work on😅
Can you tell me what the other sizes are of the other pack?
I found a 4 piece set on Amazon that looks to be the same as the package you're showing but you've got a lot more than 4 pieces in that pack.
Huge fan by the way 👏 ❤
See my reply to Christina Palmer 😀
You've got enough tubing to make another couple of sets! 😉😂
I might just do that!
Nice. Where did you get the little canister? Also, that second lock looked interesting, have you done a video of picking it before?
Thanks.
It was an eBay find
Great idea ill have to make some myself
Go for it!!
Great idea. I would have preferred the machining noises to the muzak. Where did you buy those K&S tubing from? and what are they otherwise used for?
Unfortunately, my neighbours were being loud, so I had to edit out background noise
What was that second lock? The key looked wild.
very cool
Thanks 🙏
Nice!
Thanks!
What dimensions of the tubes do you use? Except 10 mm, 12.6 mm and 14 mm.
great job
Thank you
The K&S #3401 brass telescopic tubing set does not have a size that fits typical small locks. People who want a set that just works for normal locks might consider the HPC brass telescopic plug followers.
I did mention in the video it’s 2 different packs, though I didn’t shove the specifics. I used the #3401 and the #3400, which is more than enough for standard cores (1/4 inch and ~10mm) as well as the smaller/unusual sided cores I find in more non-standard locks. I might get some 14mm brass tune to add to this set for scandi ovals. The HPC set might work out cheeper if you are just looking for a single set of followers, but I think I could get at least 4 sets out of this tubing if I had the inclination
I missed the reference to the second set, but note that the 3/8" tube is the closest to standard .400" plugs, but is only .375", which is not a good fit. Ideally one should get a metric 10mm tube, which is .394", since .400" tubes are not commercially available.
I did make a set of the Selfy stick followers, and I like this idea as well. What can you tell me about the holder (size, Source)?
I searched on eBay. The description is a bit wild ‘EDC Brass Waterproof Capsule Container Seal Bottle Box First Aid Pill Tank Case’
@@LockNoob thx
Personally, id keep them full length, that way I can rekey many cores at once, great idea though
Fair enough!
OK but can you take selfies with it?
Sure! Why not 😁😁
Aren't they called subscribers on CZcams? 😜
😅
Gold plate them but very slight so they will telescope freely.
