After you reach the intermediate level, switch to madcow's 5x5 and then once you are advanced you can do what you want and make your own program to work the lifts that you want.

      @Baki oh Jesus umm, that was a long time ago. I can go 161kg I used to do 170, but that’s because I now do atg high bar. (I had to switch over to kg because the only plates I could buy were in kgs.) I’m honestly pretty happy with my stats now. I’m 16 weighing 82kg squatting 161, deadlifting 189, and I completely dropped doing upper body. (I just started a new program with O.H.P so, I’m gonna have to start training it this macro cycle)

      @Baki it’s boring, you lift less weight. I was gonna say it’s because I don’t have a bench at my home gym, but I wasn’t doing it even before Covid so….

    Shows that you don’t have to be strong in the first place when I first started to bench I was made fun of because all I could do was the bar(45lbs) but I grinded in my strength training class and after school and in just a couple of months I tripled my strength I know it’s not a lot but it’s decent for a couple of months and I will continue to get stronger when with a broken ankle I have right now. The main point is don’t let anyone tell you are weak and let the hate me motivation to push you’re self.

    How much volume did you work to get your squat up? 4x6? As you’re highest volume? Or did you do 4x12s and just showed your strength here? Also what else did you do for legs like accessories

      Did only 5x5 up until the 275 lowbar and then I switched to a push pull legs program. I had a q and a a few months ago in which I talked about the programs I ran. And I didn’t really do much more leg accessories

    • @christopherlee3064
      @christopherlee3064 Před 5 lety

      @@ismael18601 it's more common to run a 1x5, 3x5, 3x3, or a 5x3 for deads if you're also doing them with squats. You can get more out of your legs that way without overly fatiguing. A 5x5 for deads is still fine to Do, but with proper warm up sets it can be a bit overkill on a squat day for most people.

    What I love is that your as your strength goes up you can see a huge improvement in efficiency and technique, getting your elbows lower and using your lats to brace more, and much more control coming into the hole. This is awesome man and I can tell you from experience it’s great you have documented your progress so well, it’s one thing I wish I had done.
    I’ve just recently hit a couple of big goals of a 500lb low bar squat, 405 for a 5x5 and 405 for a set of 10+ is coming very soon, and I wish I had video of my progression to look back on. Watching other lifters is great motivation but there’s nothing quite like seeing where you have come from and what you have accomplished through your own hard work to keep your spirits up through injury and when things aren’t going well.
    Keep up the good work man!

      Absolutely, they don’t assist you to lift more because of the wrap but by warming up your knees and keep the blood in that area so you can workout more fluidly. I had blue knee sleeves that I think were called Raybands. It was never the same when you squatted without em. You know how you get cold if you wait in between sets too long? It helped with that so you could go ham each set with long breaks. Just my opinion though
