Everybody's first 225 bench rep is... magical.
highly agree
I’m atm working on bench and cannot wait to be able to hit 225, my current pr is 185
Me benching 135 was magical
@@nicholasmartinez8767 that is mine too
@@seanm.3558 LMAO I feel you though
I was more hyped when I hit 225 than when I hit 315. 225 really is a great milestone 😅
Erick Gonzalez That’s sooo true 😂
315 felt better for me, but after that now, you're tasked with the impossibility of 405...
My goal is to one day hit double my bodyweight on incline.
Threesome was better
(I never had)
AmazingLats what about 495?
This just gave me motivation to reach 225!!
Same man! I just hit 135 today :D
Ong😂
Same I’m 13 and just hit 170.2 today
If any experienced lifter can answer that would be great. So I currently max out at 150. I bench 3 times a week. What weight should I workout with.
@@stdadventures6594 whatever weight you can rep around 8 12 times around 4 times with like 1.5m +or- rest depending what your wanting to do

This is actually a very nice quote lol
true, when I was 10 I could barely bench 75 lb that's now my warmup/first work set it's really in between I'm 12 now

This is the real way to get stronger on bench. Not trying your 1 rep max every week
yes definitely don't attempt to max that often
Check out Eric Bugenhagen
Jack Parker I went from 90lbs bench to 215 bench in a year by maxing out/trying max every 2-3 weeks.I started right after my 15th bday. I don’t max out that much anymore, about once every 1.5 months. Since my 16th bday I went from 215 to 265, and aiming for 275 before 17. The point I’m trying to make here is that I maxed fairly often and even though I failed many of them that didn’t stop me from progressing a lot.
@@vitaliyvorobets2738 what program you use ?
@@vitaliyvorobets2738 Maxing is pointless. Just find any decent bench powerlifting program and follow it.
The heaviest I go is singles at 90% of my max and that's only once a month. Took me like 3 months to get 225lb bench, and now it's at around 315lb with like 20 months in the gym total.
I’m 114 pounds 16 years old and am super close to benching a plate! Keep grinding everyone.
gain some weight brother it will help tremendously
I am 150lbs 16yrsold and i still cant bench a plate, still grinding
or i just probably tried to bench my rep max right after my workout
@@mir7610 are you able to bench a plate now?
@@phaminator2031 yes!!
Crazy how much everyone can bench in the comment section!!
Grant Herbert lol right?
One kid was like I’m 15, started lifting 4 months ago and now have 245 bench. Lol
Fran Villegas lmao I just saw that comment
Fran Villegas been lifting for 2 months and turned 15 in April. Benching 225 with ease lol I think it’s in the genes tbh tho.
zBandz people like u are the reason this was commented
This was amazing to watch. My first time hitting 225 during November was magical. I literally instinctively screamed “LETS GO” and had the whole gym staring at me, but I didn’t give af because I know I worked hard asf for that & surpasses my previous limitations. I’m currently at 235 trying to break 245. This was definitely inspiring and reminiscent of my come up. Great vid!
Great job to you too for that hard work. I hope u keep getting better.
primetime 2000 thanks bro! I have been I’m currently at 275 for my Pr on bench

@@primetime-bf7rl update: got into a car accident & was out for a good while, but I’m currently at 295 for my max

Good work man. I took my max from 95lbs to 155lbs trying to raise it even more. Ur really inspiring
Perfect thing to show my little brother that’s just getting started in the gym. This is truly motivating.
This is definitly the best bench press transformation video. Im hiped to see squat progress! 💪🦵
Awesome and HONEST transformation. Love this. This is how you really inspire people to work harder in the gym. We all had to start somewhere. Love this
I weigh 116lbs, I'm 5'8 and I can only bench 135x5
I was anorexic and I weighed 98lbs 11 months ago.
Tekky Quickbits good for u
If you have trouble pushing when the bar is low, I recommend doing bench dumbbell holds for some minutes. Helped me increase my bench press 5lb per week for like 6-7 months when I was a noob
@@neilt1352 I have no problem at the bottom, just at the upper sticking point (the lock out)
Is it because of underdeveloped triceps or shoulders?
I kept training dumbbell holds and pause bench, which really helped me at the bottom part.
_My one rep max now is 160lbs. I just followed UFpwrlifter's routine. Works wonders for me!_
@@xavierlim3870 that's pretty good, almost where I got only doing 5x5s.
Maybe you need to do more dips, I'd recommend dips using a bench or the machine dips. It really burns the long head of the tris for me.
@@neilt1352 Will surely do that! Thanks for the tips. I only do dips once a week with low volume. I guess I'll bump it up a bit.
This is motivation for me! The chest is my weakest area and this is giving me fuel to go harder than before! 🔥
Yoo my last names gashi too bro
Legend! Shows things don’t happen overnight but with constant persistence. I’m at 165 lbs right now, can’t wait till I get to 225

@21LAzgoo we im 17 and got a 150bench on me for now,tryna hit 225 by 18 if i can😎😂
I’m going for my 225 bench this week. I’m super hyped because of this video. I remember struggling to bench the bar alone for reps. Keep going boys the sacrifice will pay off 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best feeling ever
After that it’s 22x5
Then 225x10
Then 315
Luis Martinez lm at 225 for 3. Can’t wait till l get 10😂
Need 225 for about 15 for a 315 one rep max. I'm at 225 for 10 and my 1 rep max is 285. And I work on it about every 2-3 weeks. Going to try dead starts within a squat rack and do 315 negatives to help progress.
why do you need my name ayye same here. hit 225 for 10 yesterday and 285 last week
TheTyler701 I can only hit 225x17 and I hit 315x4 I’m 17 body weight at 220
Very difficult getting to 315 as a natural. You would need superb genetics and you would no longer be lean.
Nice progression. You can see the difference in build on each step of your journey.
Just hit my first 225lb on Wednesday (4 days ago). It was amazing!
Nice work!
What are you at now, 10 months later?
I know that felt good bro, excellent work! You should do a transformation video for the OHP as well.
This is inspiring, I will push harder now. Thank you 🙏🏼
Dude I've been skinny all my life. I've always been so weak at thr bench press. This gives me inspiration to try do thr same. Keep up the awesome work.
You can do it! Thanks!!
Freaking awesome man keep it up! That last set was super satisfying you crushed it!!
My transformation hasn’t been nearly this fast but I love coming back to this every now and then and seeing that my progress is getting farther and farther into the video
Best feeling ever hitting 225 for the first time all those years ago! I’d say i was more stoked about it than when I hit 315
Respect..proper progressive overload..no half reps..and took your time to work on form.. 👏👏
I don't get it my arms are definitely bigger then this guys are yet I can only bench 185 4 times
spunkflunk Arm size doesn't matter here, it could be fat for all we know, what matters for strength is the muscle size, pure muscle size, leverages, moment arm and CNS's ability to push the force through with the muscles. Bench responds well to volume and frequency, so doing high volume accessories and benching at least 4x a week(accessories included) should help you out, also do not go until failure, leave at least 1 - 2 reps in the tank.
Benching is mainly your pectorals and back muscles. Arms are important but its not as much biceps as it is triceps
Mortilius why not go until failure? I’m curious
iDroid If your goal is strength, your compound sets should be at RPE(Rate of Perceived Exertion, look the RPE table up for better understanding. Basically leave 1 to 2 reps left in the tank, because if you work til failure you will have to drop the weight as you will fatigue, and when you drop the weight your total volume (load x sets x reps) drops, and volume is one of the main things you need for strength and size.
@@iDroidGaming Late to the party, but additionally to what "-" said: if you go till failure it is either muscle failure (which is bad because of what they explained) and/or technical failure (which is bad for obvious reasons). It's way more useful to have good technique throughout the full set and all the reps, and build strength with good form, than fatigue your muscles and go till failure, because you will end up compensating with bad form.
Proud of You, Young Man…I’m 45 and I’ve just started benching casually this summer…You certainly are inspiring…Peace & Blessings
I like whatcha doing man. Keep it up! I just hit 225 a couple of days ago btw.
Damn, that last set had me hype for you. Great job!
Thanks man
Keep it up Max. I have been lifting for over 50 years and you are motivating me.
awesome bro, you’re a beast. keep growing! stay humble
Thank you! Will do!
Love seeing ur failures in working out 💪🏼. It makes u stronger.
Exactly!! Failing always leads to victory eventually.
I’m in my 30’s, never lifted consistently before. Started with 95 as a 1RM;I was pumped for 135. On the journey to 225!
I’ve been lifting for 1 month now. I’m 6’1 and 150 lbs. Always been skinny. After four chest/tricep workouts (1 per week) lifting heavy, I finally was able to do 1 plate (135lbs) 3 times. Always wanted to lift the plates. Felt awesome. Can’t wait to eventually get to where this guy his. He’s a huge motivator and I hope he accomplishes all his goals.
Genuinely happy for him, especially when you see the progress and where he started.
Great Work Soldier
From small cheese to medium cheese and hopefully beyond. Good work 🧀
Lmao
Oversized cheese coming soon
Just has to stay consistent with it and he will become a big cheese 😁💪🏽
Max Strazny what do you mean 3" cheese " is chest??
Max Strazny what did you do to increase it?
Went from 85 to 225 in one year exactly .. way better feeling than 3 plate squat / DL
Alpha Male Uprising Do you have a specific routine you used?
Thomas Eggers ppl 5-6 days a week for about 7-9 months and stronglifts 5x5 or 4x6 for about 3-4 months. I weighted 170 when I first started now I’m 188 5’11..
Alpha Male Uprising I’m 15 and started going to the gym 2 months ago and benching 225 with ease, best feeling ever bro.
Alpha Male Uprising I feel better for squats. I did 4 plates a few days ago. I ask a hot girl gym worker to spot, once I got it. I told her “I’m a virgin” she walked away
zBandz my ass you benched 225 just from two months
Great form, nice controlled reps keep it up champ ! 😁💪🏼
Well done mate. Takes a type of commitment not many understand. Great work. 👍
Congrats..Hitting that 225 for the first time is pretty exhilarating for a lot of us smaller guys. Onwards to 315 !!
I'm currently 15 and just trying to get stronger and benching 70kg for reps but seeing this has really inspired me.
This is genuinely my fav bench press vid on yt
Also notice his form got better midway through, props to you man. Started with your wrists bent back and then wrists faced to the ceiling.
When I was 16 I remember when I couldn’t even bench 75lbs for my 1RM now I’m 18 doing 185 for reps (currently doing a 5x5), weight training for me is a real humbling experience because everybody starts somewhere and you’ll eventually meet your goals if you’re willing to put in the effort 💯
185 aint nothin to brag about
@@SuperNickaboo Everyone has their own goals and there's no need to shut them down for it.
185 lbs obviously isn't much for you, but then again you look like you weight easily over 300 so you are expected to lift more than average weighing guy. I would bet some money that steph wes can bench his own body weight more times than you can, and I would bet all my savings that he can do more pull ups than you.
@@SuperNickaboo you sir is a great example of the biggest douche in the world
@@SuperNickaboo don't be a prick, prick.
nice one bro, I remember getting 135 for the first time I was so hyped lol, later when I got my first 225 I felt like the strongest guy in the gym. Later I realized how easy it was back then and how much struggle it is when you get to over 315 and the progress is just not there and it takes months to add any weight. Keep grinding
Great progress man! Feels great to hit 225 for the first time! Also, nice form as well, no ridiculous arch haha!
Good stuff max really love your vids man, keep up the good work
Thanks bro!
I just hit 225lbs about a week ago after about a year of building up and failing an absurd amount of times. One of the BEST feelings ever. Hard work that finally paid off. 💪🏻
September 1st of 2018 I could bench 105lbs and yesterday (September 23rd, 2019) I just hit my new PR of 175lbs on bench! Not exactly the best transformation but I’m not stopping 🤪
Update: lost everything to covid ):
Its a better transformation than 100% of people who say they could do better but don’t ever back up the claim. 70 pounds in a year is good for an upper body lift even as someone who’s making noob gains. And now that you’ve learned more you’ll offset the slower progress of being more advanced with your better knowledge so it won’t even necessarily slow down - maybe the next 70 pounds will come even quicker! Keep it up dude!!
I Starter Like 9 months ago on about the Same weight as you did maybe even lower i'm Not Sure anymore and currently i'm at 205 i'm really proud of that but i think i could have done even better
What are you on now bro?
I started working out 6-7 months ago, when i started i was at 88lbs, and now im at 175😜👍
@@PeterPan-lo1ci covid killed me man I haven’t lifted since it started ):

I watch this video like 3 times a week to motivate me to bench more and get stronger, good shit man hope to be like you one day🙏💪

This... this is real progress keep up the good work!! I saw this and couldn’t help but think how much this relates to me! This past year I made an increase from the same 135 bench to a 275 pound 1 rep max but a 250 pound competition ready bench press. However I was purely training for strength throughout the year as I had joined powerlifting. My current working set is 225 6reps 4 sets. I’m pretty lean but don’t Have an amazing physique by any means.
